*Love it Paw Paw, awesome job with Lightburn!* The lesson in this video is, attention to detail. I've made a lot of flag and badge plaques with the laser, especially military & JPSO. I have a special one I've been working on for my nephew, a Captain in the military assigned to the President. He's retiring next year and it's going to be a photo, badge & achievement board with a flag box. I'll be putting a lot of hours into this one! 4' x 2'. I'll probably need to stop by and collaborate with you on this one for the design. It's a special piece and I know you'll have better ideas than me.

Great video. You can make two stars put one it the top left corner and use the aray button six row and column for thirty stars. do the same with the second star but do four row and five column for twenty stars that give you fifty stars spaced evenly.

I want to do a white background instead of dark when I hit fill on the flag. At 11:15 you say you use this "bottom" tool and when you go from line to fill, the outline stays white. When I go to fill on the flag, my outline area goes black also. I'm not sure what the bottom tool is that keeps the background white. Thank you for this video! It has helped me alot!

Mr Paw Paw I am new with the light burn software burn it seems to be pretty user friendly. You seem to be pretty savvy on CNC and laser cutting with light burn so I wanted to ask a question. In the cut/layers option there is a power and speed setting and there after you start cutting in the move tab there is another power and speed setting. Can you explain what the difference is if there is and if they are the same why are the setting different after I start cutting? Thanks

What causes the lighter 'bald' areas to the right of an object, versus to the left where the engraves are darker and have a texture? They aren't necessarily bad, because they give a depth or shadow effect, but what if I wanted to not have the lighter, 'bald' zones? How might I do that?

Great videos, I follow as many as I can. I plan on purchasing the 4040-XE. However, I'm on the fence with purchasing a 20 watt or 40 watt laser. It seems like the 20 does just fine. Is the 40 watt faster with cutting or does it engrave in more material??? What's can I expect if I purchase the 40 watt laser instead of the 20??

The way you create the grid array for the stars is way too time consuming. You can create a grid array and offset it by half a space and you have your star field. And it take less than half the time.
