    In fact not only did I make them I am selling them like crazy, sold a whole bunch of sets of 5 of various designs for £10 a set. People just love them and my coasters with various dogs engraved on them. 3 weeks after getting my laser I have sold £100s of stuff to family and friends and neighbours. Took the dogs for a walk, I got 3 orders. Always carry samples, always be selling!!

    Thanks for this video, I did this in a few minutes having never used lightburn before. Looking foward to testing it out when I get my laser in a couple of weeks!

    There's always many ways to do things but while watching I was wondering why not use the offset too to get your concentric pair of circles? Just curious.

    Had some friends over last night, and I made a couple personalized Tree Ornaments for the Kinder! The whole family was blown away at how professional they turned out!
    P.S. still have yet to figure out that shift+frame issue... LOL... Least of my worries! As long as what comes off the laser bed is Beautiful!

    Watched your video about a week ago. I really enjoyed it and have had a blast designing ornaments. So far I have designed 10 different Christmas Ornaments BUT have only been about to make 3 out of 10 on 3.0 mm Basswood on my new Xtool S1 40W laser . I have had a ton of problems. #1 The device driver keeps opening instead of . When I switch the driver back from to the image is backwards and upside down. #2 When I try to the design, the laser runs in a very narrow path about 2" by 6" when the ornament is 4 1/2" by 4". Do you have any thoughts on my problems?

      @@BuildDadBuild thanks, I am a newbie on this, but is watching you "carefully" from Norway. Sometimes I don't have the same equipment as you have in the US, so I google to see what it contains (like spray paint), and then I go ahead testing 🙂 And never mind swearing, you sounds just like me when running the laser 😀

    Do you think a better laser might do a better job with the details to not have to use an exacto for the snowflakes? That seems rather tedious. Could it also be the wood with the laser? I’m in the investigation stage on looking for a laser and been watching the xTool D1 Pro as well as Omtech and others. Not criticizing your cutter or file. It’s quite impressive but just curious if other cutters might better get through the snowflake.

    I have a question about your comment about the SHIFT key while Framing your project work area. Does it fire your laser (light) at the percentage that is selected in your project (75% for your Ornament Cuts), or does it default to a very low value, just to trigger the laser light (say less than 5%)?
    Thanks for your video! Once I get this answered, you'll have shared 3 NEW things that I never knew about for my laser or lightburn!
    I've never seen the laser light up when I have done a Frame of my projects. Will b e nice to see that happen.

    • @BuildDadBuild
      @BuildDadBuild  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once you enable the "fire laser" button it allows you to pick a low power. I usually use 3%

    Great video. I've made quite a few ornaments now. Lots of fun. Not sure if it is just me, but I kinda feel like my xtool does a better job with Lightburn.

    Sometimes dampening the transfer tape with a sponge will help it lift off easier

    Where do you buy the masking tape? My 16 year old son just got a laser cutting machine and he doesn’t like the burn marks you get on the surface of the wood.

      I don't normally use ply. I like hardwood better. More consistent.

    I have found, if you go at a lower speed and less power for more passes, you don't get as much charring.
