  • In this video I change the non-existent final drive fluid (the other side had oil in it) and change the hydraulic oil and 3 filters.

    Shawn, to help prevent your excavators radiator and hydraulic cooling coil from clogging you could get some prefilter material and cut it to size and attach it over the outside with a few zip ties. This should prevent most debris from ever entering the radiators and would decrease maintenance time overall. Just Sayin'. PS aluminum screen would probably substitute for a pre filter as well.

      Great idea! Keeping filters clean is the key for sure.

    You are certainly more than a mouse operator, lots of different skills Sir , which so many people this day and time can’t do much more than operate a mouse ! That why they need you and me to do the hard dirty work thank goodness.

      I enjoy a new challenge. And am not afraid to dive in and sometimes fail.

    The top rubber push on hose with jubilee clip on top of the hydraulic filter mount is not pushed on fully!

    Is the hydraulic circuit self-bleeding? I assume it is. Sorry if I missed you mentioning it.

      Take the hoses off too. There might be a support bar that needs to come out too.

      Always clean radiators in the opposite direction that debris entered into them. Try not to damage the fin and you can get brushes that are made for cleaning the fin that will keep the fin opening open as it should be. The brush will normally straighten any slightly bent out of shape fin.

    I have a kx 91/3 and need to drain and replace hydraulic filters but can't find the hydraulic fluid that is recommended in the manual, even the dealer wants to sell me udt or cheap bulk.
    What did you use in yours?
    Also, I see a ball valve on the side of your tank, what is that plumbed to? I don't think mine has that?
    Thanks for the info!

      I used AW 46 hydraulic fluid. I'm in NC and that's what the dealer recommended. That ball valve is the 2 way valve. If you're using a thumb you want the fluid to move in two directions. But if you're using a hammer you want to switch the valve to one way so the fluid only moves in one direction through the hammer.

    That machine has been used and abused. At least its easy to work on . I sure like kubota for that .

    • @GCFD
      @GCFD  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure. But I keep telling myself that's why I got it! It also had a new engine installed last year. The tree company that was selling it had several of their trucks and equipment vandalized where someone drained the coolant. This machine overheated and locked up the engine. I have the paperwork and warranty info so that's one reason I got this one. So far so good!
