I have watched over the years, your welding going from " welded by a blind man using his feet" to now, setting down , confident, and putting out some great headers and other projects. You learned by looking, listening and most importantly, doing. (the only way!)
The easiest solution for the water pump situation may be to just delete the mechanical pump with an idler and run a remote electric water pump. The Pierburg CWA400 is the baddest water pump you can get right now(kicks the shit outta your typical aftermarket electric water pumps, Department Of Boost has test data on their website), and it's actually an OEM factory water pump on BMWs and some other newer cars. Ford has also used this as the water pump on the Cobra Jet Mustangs since 2016 too I believe.
Love to see more progress, especially on THOSE two projects!
Joe, seems like the kind of neighbor that would come over in a heartbeat to help you out if you got stuck on your project somewhere. 👍
Newburn seemed like someone I'd wanna hang out with 24/7.
He’s not his neighbor
I welded magnesium once. ONCE. Got paid alot. Spent hours building inert gas tent around the piece. Cautionary, long pair of tongs first TIG spark. God we are dumb in our younger days. Just HAPPY to have my hands. 🙄❤
discussing car purchcase idea with wife - its practically finished, it'll be a snap and its fairly cheap... I'll slap an engine in it and just go racing on the weekend for certain races... probably take about 1-2 weeks to get it running, I already have everything to finish it...
Damn Mike you need a shop like really bad dude but I do like the quaintness and nostalgia of the basement shop!
He has a massive shop. He just uses it for storage.
Good to see progress on the Caddy. Too bad about the Lexus, you win some and you lose some. Thanks for the video.
Fin, those frickin' headers are a work of art! You should be SO proud of them! One step closer to fun and glory! I can't wait for the first road trip...
I know I'm a total outlier here, but I miss the mailbag videos. I know people gave you shit about them, but I liked it! It was interesting to see the things people send you.
By the way, those are some bitchin' welding gloves!🤘❤️🙂🇨🇦
I miss those videos too. Was some good stuff
Well i'm happy yall found the chassis is complete garbage before racing and potentially crashing it!
Most definitely do it again brother I absolutely love your work bud yall do an awesome job
We need more on the corvette. I had one for 27 years wish I still had it.
Which one? The primered one he and Newbern drove on Roadkill or the 63 shell?
Whole lot of angels in this video, great to see all the stuff
The 61 Caddy is my favorite project of yours by far. So cool. I have a white 65 New Yorker 2 dr/ht that’s too nice to cut up, this one satisfies my urge.
Just cut it up! No one collects '65 New Yorkers. Make a cool hot-rod.
It will be fun to finally see the Cadillac running down the drag strip.
Will never happen.
Thanks Mike !!! I never win anything and an autographed hat hell ya!!
Wow what a bodge job they did on that Lexus. I thought that guy was meant to be well known in the drag racing community. It looks like he slapped it together like that for a quick sale which is not something you want to see for a drag car. Probably a good thing you bought it because at least it's going to be fixed right and made safe. These 2 cars are going to be an awesome pair in the garage when they are all done. It's kinda funny that the old car is luxury cruising and the new car is a full on stripped back race car, usually it's the other way around
Mike, I'm surprised you don't have something like the MaxxJacks two post lift. It uses threaded bosses in the concrete instead of studs and a portable pump with quick connect hoses so you can use it in multiple locations in the garage and move it into a corner when not in use.
Yea Finn should be sponsored one of those so I can see if they're any good, cos I want something like that!
Glad to see progress on the Caddy. It's been quite a while since seeing it at MCR.
MRC
Yes!!!! Do this again, I really enjoy your channel!!
PROGRESS on the Caddy (sort of)..........I cannot wait to see it run in 2030 speed week! Hope we are all, still, alive!
C.T. Australia.
Lol I keep forgetting about the C2 63 split window corvette. Although I think that hood is from a 66 vette big block car
Thanks for going back to 30 minute videos!
Yes… always have participation contestants. Thank you.
Definitely getting closer 🎉🎉🎉❤❤
The car giveaway thing was cool. Neat way to thin out your fleet
KEVIN, HAVE A CRAP-TON OF FUN, DUDE! DON’T FORGET TO RECORD THAT FUN, TOO!
Been a fan of Finnegan since the original episodes of Roadkill, and it is awesome how he he gives us regular content for free.
This project is one of those that is a head scratcher for me. I don’t understand what the Caddy is really supposed to be ultimately.
I cannot wait to see it done and see how Finnegan uses it.
Love the show/your job! Joe is a good addition 👍. I’m sure you’re sick of hearing it but I can’t wait to see the caddy running! Nice work.🇺🇸
He looks like a dork with his ears tucked in his hat.
Congratulations to all the winners! Great video Mike.
Do it again! Love you're show been watching it from the beginning.
Looks killer, and congratulations to the winner of the car, looks dope
Congratulations to all the winners. Great video Mike.
I love watching you build this stuff but I'm really ready to see you hit one of the race weeks in something that you are confident you can win with
Damn. You've come a long way since "Ray Charles welded those, with his feet!" Great job on the headers.
caddy is my favorite car of yours. so excited to finally see progress on it
It’ll be fun to see you out there in the drag and drive events. Been following you since your Hot Rod mag days.
Yes do do it again God bless all of you and family have fun and stay safe
Sunday morning, coffee and a Finn episode, off to a Good day!
Tin soldier race cars is using those new long travel front strut cups on Billy src Camero for all the travel you might want to look 👀 for your chassis guys to burn some in both the caddy and the lexus
Mike probably wouldn't see much of any benefit from them since they're just adding droop and he's going radial tire racing. If anything, he's gonna have to tie these front ends down and limit their travel lol, especially the billet LS Lexus.
Congrats to all the winners.
More Giveaways? Most definitely would love to see what else you’d decide to share.
Congratulations to the winners. Maybe next time.
I can’t wait to see the Cadillac on the road .
Hell yeah congrats to the winners
Well damm.....really wanted to win that wirecare setup. I got an old 1960 F100 that needs some decent wiring. Love the channel.
Would be cool to see the Cadillac on Roadkill one day again
Whoever won the Datsun should go cruise with Brent from PFI speed in his 70's Honda.
26:34 JESUS! Thank frak you guys checked that. Yet another reason to never trust a chassis or crash frame unless you had professionals make it. Sheesh. Man, you dodged one there.
3,791 👍's up Finnegan thank you for sharing 🤗
Love the "how to" and mentoring of the video's
Thanks for sharing.
That LC 500 is going to be one of the best looking cars in the drag and drive events. Very cool project.
You spent all that time purging all the other welds, Why did you drop the ball when welding the bungs on?
Because welding butt joints in thin tubing will have burn through, obviously. The bung being more of a corner joint should have no exposure to the weld pool on the back side. It can happen if you burn through the tubing but it isn't 100% going to happen like a butt joint.
@@ChrisAWare Mate I've been a boilermaker welder in Australia for 26 years not including the 4 year apprenticeship and have always ended up with sugaring in the i.d of stainless tube no matter how careful you are which causes fatigue and cracking over time.
Love your work
5:48 i too weld with FUPA, stays warm 😆
awsome vid brother .shit miss a couple of mounths missed out on entering the wire care kit havent got my mini truck anymore but still got the sounds that kit would have been awsome keep up the primo vids mike
Ha! Awesome poster.
"Merry Christmas, shitters full !"
HI GUYS ITS GETTING CLOSE !! NICE TO SEE YOU ARE WORKING ON THE CADDY !! (CLOSE) CAN YOU TELL ME WHEN YOU WILL BE UP HERE FOR THE RACE ON THE FIRST ROAD IN MICHIGAN !!! KEEP GOING I WILL BE LOOKING FOR THE NEXT ONE !!! TODD FROM MICHIGAN !!!!
10:54 i just put them on snug, and then use a piece of wood that's calibrated to the right distance between the L part of the sensor and the pipe. Then they're all at the same distance regardless of any other factors.
We need new shirts , turbos and tools 👍👍
Definitely more giveaways!
This masterpiece is the opposite of my 63 deville 4 door lmao. But hopefully mine will do good burnouts when its done
Fuba 12 FTW!
Wtf is a fuba?
Be careful Mike...
It was about 25 years ago, i had a dyno session scheduled and wanted 8 egt sensors in each primary pipe of the headers for my 455 Oldsmobile. Ended up booger welding the first bung so decided to cut it out and try again with steel. The first bungs were black pipe and i was stupid. So then i decided a hole saw with no pilot bit would make a nice cut. Header in the vise woth blocks of wood with me on a step stool. The big 1/2 corded hammer drill made quick work of slipping off and putting a perfect circle in my left thumb down to the bone. It bled alot. 23 stitches. You could see the bone when the skin flap was open. Still have a cool scar. Also that thumb has no feeling because the nerves were cut.
Thats what i think of when i think about header egt bungs.
I think you need to install a track and a chain hoist so you don't need to fool around with the car up and down and forward and back constantly
I definitely ant you to do another give away but this time rig it so I win! 😂😂😂
its summer were are the jet ski videos? don't make me come down there and go riding! "Webb PWC Repair"
I like the idea of more giveaways, just a better car lol
What a time to be alive
You should turn that corvette in the corner into a gasser!
It would really be better if it didn't have a LS in it, good luck keeping the head gaskets in place, other than that, I can't wait to see it completed!!! 😂😂😂
Why not mount the dry sump pump with tabs on the frame Mike, although is that not possible due to engine movement (and the frame staying rigid) ?
For me, it's a custom oil pan everyday 😉
It would be nice if Canada was included 🍻
Mike can you change the dry sump pump to the other side of the block would get it away from the water pump inlet just my 2 cents love the caddy vid won’t be long and you will be doing the wiring cheers from down under
Humph..... I hope Kevin enjoys my car!!!! LOL
Great content thanks for sharing
Come oooon.... Teasing with the 63 in the back ground... UPDATE!
100% pure, uncut colombian argon
Make sure to not cut down the thermistor wires, they are calibrated based on their length, and changing length changes resistance, and lowers reliability.
I knee this was going to happen.
I had a v8 on order since April 2022.
I ended up canceling it in May of this year.
With in 24 hours I found a v8 duel can and had it delivered just under 21 days.
Did a shop do the work on the Lexus? Name and shame them! Seeing that after watching CJ Race Cars and KSR's cages in horrifying! Glad you're getting it right!
Yes do the giveaway agin with that absurdly clean crx
his wife would not be two happy thats her car
It would be awesome to do it again , but let's wait until the cadillac is doing.
Hell yeah my brother
Love the Caddy and looking forward to the Lexus but its July and I'm going through serious FAST BOAT withdrawals! When we gonna see sunburned skin going fast on water?
Mann..i would have left that caddy OR but maybe a few upgrades for more power and braking. Sucker for original stuff with some tasteful upgrades. Still sweet ride.
You guys and your fancy pneumatic cherry picker. I need to get one of those someday.
You really need to do another giveaway. As you said before you have too many cars LOL!!!
Love the Lac
Mike, wouldn’t back filling the header have helped during welding the probe bungs in to keep the weld clean?
Why not put some stainless the same size in the bung to help reduce the heat and ensure the bung stays round?
Let the girls play. We want to use wiring kits and rip in Datsuns too.
Great video even if I didn't win anything! Maybe next time.
Do you have a schedule of where you'll be throughout the year? I've wanted to meet you and shake your hand ever since the 1st episode of roadkill with the El Camino.
Those exhaust manifolds are absolutely beautiful two thumbs up they are badass. Can you quit all your other projects like that unknown show you work for just kidding and finish the Cadillac
Mike could you flip the dry sump pump around backwards.
What no jokes involving “bung” and “hole”?
Oh yes, yes please!
Is Nelson ever going to finish their mid-engine GTO? Been off the inter web for 5 years.
The Caddy is finally getting a vroom vroom noise maker and a go forward go backward blood sucker machine. 🤣
