    Waow. I've been through all 12. It's interesting what I found. I rate them in HARD, MEDIUM and EASY. Key notations from left hand. I find that four keys fell into each category for me as follows:
    EASY -
    Easiest was D min11
    Second was A min11
    Third was Eb min11
    Fourth was F min11
    MEDIUM -
    Easiest medium was Ab min11
    Then in second was Bb min11
    Third was Db min11
    Hardest medium was Gb min11
    HARD -
    Easiest hard was B min11
    Second hardest was C min 11
    Penultimate hardest was E min11
    By far the craziest and hardest was G min11
    I found that both G min11 and E min11 were very close in how crazily hard and stretchy it was and tackling the hardest ones made the other ones easier and easier with time.

    This is an amazing video. I remember I was invited to a gig by a musician who said he was going to use all 10 fingers. Didn't think much of it at the time, but you breaking it down I see the relevance of it now of how it can fatten chords and exercise your fingers at the same time. Certainly will be practising this when I get home! Also, love the pentatonics demonstration.

    It feels like the stretch alone is helping my tone. I've been stretching on all 12 for over an hour. Dayum it's painful but if it will take me from where I am (somewhere in between beginner and intermediate) I'll be happy. KC, you're God sent and I hope you really spend time in focussing on the category of those who are at the cusp of doing great things for God who are still knocking on that door between beginner and intermediate, who still sound 90s/early 2000s if you know what I mean. Please help. Whatever it takes. Thank you for your sacrifice . It's not taken for granted at all.

    Bflat is the hardest.it has an awkward scale pattern

  • @nupfe
    @nupfe 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like the ending with the pentatonics. Nice idea to play the F# minor pentonic over A Major. The run going up on the very last end is a C# minor pentatonic (without an E): LH: F#, G# (Fingering: 3, 2) then RH: B, C# (Fingering:1, 2) then repeat.

    • @prettysimplemusic
      @prettysimplemusic  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much for the kind words!!! I love the Pentatonic!!! Small correction - the ending is a simple/clean B Pentatonic scale...

    • @nupfe
      @nupfe 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ops, you are right. Sorry. It was hard to see, when I paused it. I missed the D#. Yes, then it is a clean B Pentatonic, like you said.

    • @MrDaymee
      @MrDaymee 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could you please break down where you started the clean B pentatonic over A and also the fingering used. I'm holding A down and running it from B (fingers on right hand for me is 12312 12312 12312 12312 etc). It's not sounding the same. Any omissions?? Thanks KC

    • @prettysimplemusic
      @prettysimplemusic  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrDaymee oh yeah... it's still an A pentatonic... you just start on B... I play it very very slow with the correct fingering at 6:45

    • @nupfe
      @nupfe 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I reckon that MrDaymee is talking about the running up which begins at 7:09. Correct me, if I'm wrong.Because that's a clear B Pentatonic over A, which makes it lydian (the raised 4 makes it sound brighter).For that you start with the left Hand on F# then G#, B (Fingering 3, 2, 1) .. then comes the right Hand with C# and D# (fingering 2,3)... and so on ... assuming that your root is an A (then it becomes lydian). The first running down which is explained in detail is an A Pentatonic (a called it in my first Comment as an F# minor pentatonic, which is actually technically also correct, BUT in this context it is better to see it as an A Pentatonic.All that technical names aren't that important (sorry for that) ... more important is, to know how to create those beautiful sounds and how they sound. Kevin has shown it great and he gives us new inspirations and ideas. Thank you again.

    I don't born with big hand cause I'm an asian guy anyway. It will literally be impossible for me to stretch that much but I can do something different like a very full 7th chord instead of playing the 6th on the bass note. I will try to reach out for the 6th on the left hand and practice more see if I can actually get that.
    For me the most difficult key is F major, I always forgot there is a B flat in the scale.
