God Bless you!!!! I'm not a Piano player or keyboard player. I play guitar and Bass but i always played "phat Chords" on guitar because of brother like you that blessed me with your knowledge. I'm forced now to learn keys due to my ministry and your videos like this are a blessing to my life my church and my ministry! Thank you and God Bless you
I really have a great respect for the attitude you put into your music and teaching you are very rare. you can feel the love in what you are doing and you want people to learn . You are certainly different than any other MUSICIAN i have encountered i feel i can really learn more from someone like you. thanks
Hey Guy! This is an awesome tutorial video. You are a blessing to the Kingdom and musicians across the globe. Thanks for your transparency and level of excellence. Great approach! Bless you, Kev.
When you said , “Dying ‘EMPTY’...” it just reminded me about what I heard years ago about Nicodemus .... He was among the most wealthiest during his life time ... By the time he died he was among the poorest but HAPPIEST soul. And what some one like that leaves behind is a legacy of unlimited wealth that carries on to Eternity , I believe .... “Rich in deed ... Rich in Good Works ...” Thank You MUCH for Your spiritual TRUE TO LIFE ... TRUE GOD ... TRUE TO SELF ... along as well as TRUE TO MUSIC ...endeavors & Ministry ....🙏🏽💥👍🏽❤️
Kevin, I've been watching and listening to some of your videos off and on for sometime now and out of all that I've viewed ...this one really blessed me. Not because of the interesting and helpful techniques and chord voicing, but because of your transparency and humility to share your strengths and weaknesses in music. Very heart felt my brother, we'll received and I am truly humbled. I've been playing for 30+ yrs and not proficient in A, D, B or E but The Lord has blessed my gifting to the best of my understanding. I can learn a lot from you. This video, has blessing all over it. Wow. It's your humility of spirit that has given me a whole different view of your ministry. This one is truly blessed. Great Respect. -Educapro
I like this video. I like the perspective of how to address difficult keys...that you can't just look at it as your'e playing in that difficult key (A in this case), but focus more on the progressions (scale) used. It does help. I think that the transpose button has gotten a bad rep because instead of people using it as a tool which can get you out of a sticky situation on the fly, but should also encourage you to go home and practice the transposed song in it's original key that you had difficulty playing in. A lot of people use it as a permanent crutch, which in turn makes them lazy to fully learn the keyboard. Thanks KC
Yes this is very helpful! Please do more. I love everything you are doing and have done. It is a tremendous blessing to have someone like you doing these teachings and sharing these secrets and techniques. God bless you! Thanks !
Thanks brathajoe1 for the encouraging words and the support... Please share with others to raise the awareness and how easy it can be... If I get a lot of feedback, I will keep making more videos like this!!!! This is my PASSION - I want to die empty!!!
..I'm Sorry, but you are killin me (lol..) with that skit at the beginning, so authentic.. Switching to basic chords in "A"….. I used to transpose too and it was the biggest thing that held me back.. Everybody, listen to his message and try to stop transposing.
Got mad love for ya, KC! While I'm rollin' on the floor laughing with some of your titles and explanations, I am grateful that you've made available your calling and gift to so many. I continue to support and I'm 'pedaling this bike' as fast as I can to try and keep up! You're simply pretty amazing.
K.C. God bless you, bro. You are certainly anointed to teach! Timeless videos, and I can totally relate to a lot of your experiences! Keep on giving us these golden nuggets of wisdom.
Wow I'm blowin away Kevin I gotta say your my favorite keyboardist the way you make a regular songs sound like masterpieces with all the inbetween licks movements intro outro turnarounds runs and progressions to make a song sound really full. ...wow thank you so much maybe down the road you can do a DVD covering worship, praise ,talk music, shouts preacher chords ,choir and hymns and reharmonize all the songs and make them out of the box your style....thank you again...I'm showing all my people's this video
My comment is that I "thought" I knew how to play piano lol!! My God man ur awesome!! Great tips ur becoming one of my favorites!!! God bless you sir!!
your piano blends are amazing just what is needed for worship flow! That p330 sounds nice its amazing how those older keyboards and modules are still use for music today, and if you decide to give it away ill receive that blessing😄 keep the great work we need more God sunt musicians like you!
I am horrible in the key of A.. but after seeing this?! I never would have thought the transitions were simple preaching chords smh...Lol thanks man I really appreciate this...
3:16 ‘s - Ego vs LOVE: EGO - In James 3:16 we’re taught “Where there is envy & SELFISH AMBITION(S)... there lies every kind of evil work(s)...” which is all about Taking ... LOVE - But in John 3:16 we are taught about LOVE’s Giving ... “God so loved the world that He GAVE ...”
Clinton Peacock Yeah bro, I'm still trying to figure out what the book bag means??? I thought it represented that you were a pro touring/gigging musician and that you can't stay the whole service...
There are a couple of "top notch" gospel musicians who have been known to play with their book bags on...henceforth it has become a trend for a few musicians across the country...The book bag represents "elite" status and represents a top notch "touring" musician...
Interesting story. I’ve noticed outside of church, when you are taught something the next thing the teacher says is. “Now, go learn that in every key.”
It’s so beneficial to be humble ... “The way of transgression is hard & miserable “ (see Proverbs...I think ... if I remember correctly ?) Being humble is so RIGHTEOUS ... Ain’t gonna be no insecurities in Heaven , I believe 😊💥👍. Just SHARING & SHARING ... Music, as Life & Love is not about ego & self exaltation ... but of elevation one another as we all, in appreciation , should be elevating the love of The Lord Who is the Giver of All Things Wonderful ...
Like it that you don't just do the note 4 note thing. you dish out theory and technique as well which is important; gaining an understanding of how the parts fit together
Yes please do some more it is definitely helpin me right now for real sir keep up the good work man and God bless!!!! SN: can u do some of these same teachings on the organ cuz I'm a organ player thanks man...
i love you man for the help give us ... can u please do a cover of "the best of my life by potter's house" ? ... that would be of great help to me ... thank you and keep doing what you do. god bless
It's really informative and i like the pace of the video! :D Thank youuu! So for example i wanna play this song in B, i would use Eb and Bb preacher chords yeah? Lots of love from Singapore!
nice vid, but as another professional pianist here, I think when learning to play in a new key you still have to be really comfortable with learning chords and scale degrees in that key with lots of repetition (aka practice). not sure about raid hard drive??? I actually made this video with my nifty little macbook air... Normally for the big sound and major projects I use my Mac mini (with factory settings, only upgrade I made was 16gigs of ram)...
prettysimplemusic Some people run redundant hard drives. Raid 1 I believe its called. This is just in case one drive fails. All of my setups have some kind of hardware backup so I dont do this as of yet. I know I need to do something. At the end of Sunday service my single 7200 rpm drive is cookie sheet hot. I work that poor thing very hard. I have 8Gigs of ram since I only load about 5 sounds for Sunday morning.
hnsmusic gotcha... yeah, since I use the Ravenscroft 275 piano exclusively, I had no choice but to add 16 gigs of ram...that piano alone is 30+ gigs...plus i like to add lush layers on top of it...
Thank you so much for these videos! you are very generous with sharing your knowledge! may I ask what software you are using to display the virtual piano keyboard with the light-up keys? & how do you record your face also? thank you so much!
I need to learn all this skills but I am still having issues with my fingerings.I am still not quick enough to perform most tasks seen in this lesson. What must I do to help my fingering skills?
I love it when gospel musicians are willing to share stuff that's not dumbed down. Appreciate you!
Yeah, it's not fair that any musician (great or small) should miss out on the "fun" stuff!!! :)

EGO - In James 3:16 we’re taught “Where there is envy & SELFISH AMBITION(S)... there lies every kind of evil work(s)...” which is all about Taking ...
LOVE - But in John 3:16 we are taught about LOVE’s Giving ... “God so loved the world that He GAVE ...”
yes i learn alot from this, i love this and also the message at the end..i feel and have the same views as you do especially about teaching.
I died when you said ... the bookbag with the west coast click..... LOLOL
Clinton Peacock Yeah bro, I'm still trying to figure out what the book bag means??? I thought it represented that you were a pro touring/gigging musician and that you can't stay the whole service...
prettysimplemusic I think it's in the handbook.. Gotta have the bag, cuz you are "on tour"... and play with it on.... Dude you nailed this...
Clinton Peacock I still have no idea what the bookbag is for. I am glad that I am not the only one confused.
There are a couple of "top notch" gospel musicians who have been known to play with their book bags on...henceforth it has become a trend for a few musicians across the country...The book bag represents "elite" status and represents a top notch "touring" musician...
prettysimplemusic A book bag? Try showing up one day with one of those roll-up-sleeping-bag back-pack combos on your back.

Like it that you don't just do the note 4 note thing. you dish out theory and technique as well which is important; gaining an understanding of how the parts fit together
Yes please do some more it is definitely helpin me right now for real sir keep up the good work man and God bless!!!!

Joseph Jovin My pleasure bro!!! :)

for sure, it's great you do these videos to show the light at the end of the tunnel, all the best man!
I concur 100% with you there!
Thanks Doc, Very Helpful Video, I learned alot
I glad u r looking out for the least because it's been a struggle to play like that - I surely need help
Yeah bro, I wish I had TH-cam when I first started learning the keyboard.... many many hours just trying to figure out 1 chord from a song!!! :(
Here's an idea, if your video is targeted for those persons who do not play in THOSE keys, then just slow it down for them so they can get it! The 'advanced' musicians can go do something else, since they already know this stuff! I hear ya bro..you are right folks will not share the secret to their chords it's a shame, we think it's our music, but it all comes from God
This is great!! Any shout videos?
God Bless You!
just beautiful
KC I don't know if u remember me man but I was in the Gospel Choir at West GA!!! How have u been man??? Still sounding like a beast on them keys bro! Where are u located now? I've actually been playing for some years now! And wouldn't mind expanding my craft! Get at me bro!!!

Very good teaching.I enjoyed this. You mentioned you only use software libraries... Are you running a raid hard drive for redundancy?
