    Cheapest, most effective trap I've seen yet. Had huge losses in 2019, and was desperate to try something new. Thanks, Brian!

    A 5 year old video that still has practical applications....thanks for posting this!! We're being inundated with yellow jackets right now in Haliburton...gotta protect the girls!!

      Thank you. I've used that trap for years and it's better than any trap you'll buy. Have a great day!

    Can i just add sugar water

    • @Innisfilcreekhoney
      @Innisfilcreekhoney  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes but add a little vinegar to make it sour so bees do not go to it.

    Don't know how bad the Yellow Jackets are here in Gainesville, FL, but I'm looking forward to trying this. Can't stand the little cretins.

    How close can the trap be to
    the hive

    • @Innisfilcreekhoney
      @Innisfilcreekhoney  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really doesn't matter because with the addition of the apple cider vinegar and meat it makes the top on attractive to honey bees. I wouldn't put it right beside the hive but within 5 or 10 ft should be fine

    Works great. Killed about 40 already in a trap I got hanging out my window

    What is that in the bottom of the bottle that looks like a rock?

    • @Innisfilcreekhoney
      @Innisfilcreekhoney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      it is a rock to add some weight to the bottle so it does not blow over

    where do you place it? it probably should be out of the rain. right?

    • @Innisfilcreekhoney
      @Innisfilcreekhoney  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes out of the rain so the soda is not diluted with the rainwater. I place them randomly around the property. They attract the hornets and wasps and reduce the numbers in the area.

    Are they that stupid as to not be able to fly out the way they came in?

    Dont put in lunch meat.The Racoons will go for it.

      Hang one with meat from your porch roof. I'm going to put a meat one out later. Away from skunks! Is our pests! And they're not scared of shit...wander right up to ya and look at you funny when you shoo it. Coons are seriously outnumbered here. Also have I think around 17 coyotes in the park on my dead end street. I think some DAFT fool is feeding them!

      Hornets and wasps eat meat. Putting meat in it attracts them better than just sour pop.

      I might try setting in my garden in daytime only and then putting in sealed container at night so no mammals of any kind will mess with it. I need it for all the wasps eating my caterpillars.
