Got to be one of the best produced instructional I've seen. Zip thru the mundane, steady camera and no extraneous noise. No "hollywood" theatrics, just straight shooting good info. Thanks a mint.
Have a F4 that stopped pumping and I thought it must be this water pump fail but something you mentioned made think it might be just plugged up so I used compressed air and blew through the top drain hole, started it up in a tank and it worked just fine, so thank you for your instructional, saved me some dollar!
Great job! You are a good instructor. I have a 4H.P. that I'm trying to do the same to it. I think they are pretty much the same. This video is great help. Thank you.
When you put the drive shaft back into housing 15:45, how could you see it's connected? your video was bit dark. And how does that shift lever connect back to the lower part? And how many running hours do you need to replace the impeller? Thanks in advance.
Sorry it's been a while since I did this how to. I shined a flash light in and very carefully guided it with my finger in side the side holes. A screwdriver works as well. If I remember right, it connected with a metal clamp that had a 10mm bolt through it.
Awesome video man. I have the exact same motor with the exact same problem. The new impeller i bought from Yamaha (with the same part number you showed), is a pretty tight fit in the water pump housing unit. Is this normal to have the blades bent?
He must have said, “ turn it from right to left” because he tightened it from the bottom side. I noticed it, too. So, from the bottom you turn from 3:00 to 9:00 clockwise. I hope how I explained it makes sense to those confused.
Jeremy Thx for the video Whats your desktop or laptop set up for running the Sony Vegas Pro What CPU processor, RAM, HDD, SSD, Graphics card type, Graphics memory to allow it to run in an optimum manner. Any pointers would be useful
I'm using a Dell Inspiron M5010 laptop, It has built in Intel HD graphics 4gigs ram, 15.6 screen AMD triple core 2.4ghz if I remeber corectly..Im on my cell. I use a 24 inch Dell LCD monitor. I I like Intel i3 i5 and i7 processors a lot better than AMD, I'd also go with and head over Raideon any day.
Do not use grease on the backing plate or in the impeller housing! The rubber impeller and the grease may have a reaction, shortening the life of the impeller. If it needs lubrication, use glycerin if possible. Soapy water is fine. I laughed out loud when you said ouch to a $20 part... Just replaced a diesel exhaust elbow for $800.
You rather gloss over the refitting of the drive shaft into the leg. Aligning the drive rod, the gear rod and the water inlet pipe - all at the same time - is a challenge. Your comment ‘a little snug’ accompanied by some creative editing did nothing to explain the complexity of this manoeuvre. By the way, you are not alone, two other You Tubes also edit their way out of the problem!

Yes it will be, Lubrication and rotating the shaft as seen in the video will help it slide in the housing.
una duda este motor yamaha puede trabajar en agua salada, gracias y muy buen video
how is turning it left clockwise?
Thank you! I was wondering if anyone else caught that! lol

Meant to say - Many thanks
I have the same 2.5four stroke I have a problem with oil and water coming trough the muffler
why would the drive shaft get stuck in the motor?
stephen bernsen Can you elaborate a little more?
I've done the change of water impellor put it all back together but now the propellor won't disengage when running. Have I missed something here?
Hard to say without being there. Maybe you missed something with the Linkage assembly?
Help! I have water coming from the black plastic on the shaft, is this normal?
😊
I bought instruction from Avasva and I build it very very cheap.

14 seconds in - "F 2.5 litre 4 stroke" - I'm sure this is not 2500ccs!
Displacement: 72cc (4.4ci)
Just buy new motor its just 900 euro lol
very good video very informative thank you
