    Hey great video, You can buy lots of different styles of band for them though..

      Thanks Scott! I’ll have to check them out. The only ones I saw where similar to silicone that came with it. If they did make more that’s great!

    Thank you! I just ordered mine (non-music) because my Apple Watch has GPS and HRM issues. Is the wrist optical HRM better than Apple? because I can't think it is worse! I had to use a chest strap with it. I'm not opposed to using a chest strap. I'll probably only use it for running as I have an 820 for my cycling.

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Richard, the wrist HRM was better at the time for sure when i had the apple watch 3. I'm sure i thas improved now that they have new versions out but i never had to use a chest strap or anything with my garmin. It has always been reliable.

    Do you find the pace alerts/button tones are much quieter than the older models such as the FR220? Thanks

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Alan, I didn’t notice a quieter tone it just sounded different which was the main difference.

      @@RunWithJ Thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate it. Just got a FR245 and trying to figure out if it's a fault...or just a case of getting used to something new. Thanks again.

    Thanks for the review; does the 245 track your respiration rate during running?

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jos, i don't believe it's available for running. I can only see respiration for like sleep or doing regular day but it's not showing anything for activities. I think there were talks about this being available for running but i haven't seen it yet.

  • @miller10
    @miller10 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Do you know if the 245 has Apple Music as well?

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No unfortunately they don’t. They have Spotify and a service called deezer which isn’t that great and you will need to have your phone with you. So if you carry your phone then you can just use Apple Music from Bluetooth but I don’t really like carrying my phone while running.

    Can i run with the watch without having a phone in my pocket? And still track everything? Thanks

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can. You will just need to sync it once you get home or when you’re near your phone if you want to upload your run to an app. It has built in gps.

    what is the charging time? 2hrs? thanks in advance 👍

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It takes less than an hour actually to charge it to full. I’ve had it for a few years now and it seems that the battery doesn’t last as long. Maybe few days instead of 7 now.

    How good is the smartwake feature?

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you referring to the app in the iq store? I haven’t tried that yet but from reviews it looks like it conflicts with the body battery and doesn’t let it recharge overnight and it counts as an activity as well as keep voicing notifications unless you have it silenced.

    • @Sunnytalor
      @Sunnytalor 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RunWithJyes, im really interested in that feature.

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will have to test it out. Do you have a Garmin watch that supports this app? If you get to try it out let me know how you like it 👍

    • @Sunnytalor
      @Sunnytalor 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RunWithJ not yet, I'm thinking on 245 as my main option.
      I'm not a runner but this watch have all the health traking features that I need. The only thing I'm not sure about is the smartwake..there is no info on that anywhere.

    The Garmin is a fitness watch more so than a lifestyle watch. Apple on the other hand is a a lifestyle watch more so than a fitness watch.

  • @monteb8526

    Not many strap choices! It's what watch collectors call a "strap monster". It can use any 20mm watch strap. Any! That's rubber, leather, metal, cloth, nato, Zulu, or crappy smartwatch silicone. That's thousands of straps. Come on man? Do your research.

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Monte, I guess what I was referring to at the time making the video was straps specifically for running like the silicones. I looked on Amazon and could only find similar straps.
