    Great video. The 245 does not come with a barometric altimeter.

    How are these devices compared to any cheap fitness band? How is the 10x cost justified? All devices have nearly same sensors, yes this May be slightly more accurate but 10x the cost?! I’m a runner, would like to know if and what should i expect from this device compared to umpteenth cheaper devices in the market

    Nice video. How useful do you find the training load/effects metrics? Are they gimmicks? I have the VA3 and am thinking of an upgrade. I’m mostly a tennis player.

    Bro can you help me out pls I got the 245 I think it’s shit because there’s no way I’m running this slow some how I got to 97 50m away from a mile it said 552 some how it took me 37sec to do the 50m with the old watch’s I had I had a gps where I had to wait for it to connect when I’m outside but with this shitty watch I can just press a button and go out the door

    • @Dirtyoldsneakers
      @Dirtyoldsneakers 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like there might be a satellite lock issue. How do the maps look when you upload them? Are they all over the place or do they match the actual route you're running?

    • @philellul4476
      @philellul4476 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      DirtyOldSneakers oh I don’t no if I set that up because it is all over the place says I’m running 330mileing then 9 min pace if you could help out would be amazing because I spent 300 odd quid you’ll think it be good 💪🏼because with the old watch’s I’ve had in the past you gotta wait outside for the satellite to connect gps to the watch with this one I turn on the screen and just press the button and the way I go I’ve connected it to my phone but it’s well of pace and distance 🙏🙏🙏

    Have you tested this watch with HRM-Tri? Does this strap work with FF 245?

    • @Dirtyoldsneakers
      @Dirtyoldsneakers 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not personally tested it, but HRM Tri does work with the FR-245.

  • @8strings
    @8strings 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The 245 (non-music) has no Wi-Fi capability (therefore no automatic 'Garmin Connect' data upload after your workout). Also, no barometric altimeter. Therefore really only suited for a limited customer base.

    • @Dirtyoldsneakers
      @Dirtyoldsneakers 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Unless you have it synced to your phone. In that case, auto upload. However, I'll give you that I messed up the barometric altimeter.

    • @8strings
      @8strings 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dirtyoldsneakers I upload my data to my PC, so that rules out a HRM watch like the 245 (non music). I am still very content with my square faced 920XT. New is not necessarily always better.

    • @RobsSynths
      @RobsSynths 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’m not sure having no WiFi is a problem. Just like the fr35, it auto syncs to iPad, iPhone or Android etc. I mean who doesn’t have one of those? As soon as you are back in house it’s uploaded to Garmin without any effort. Non issue surely?

    Completely concur on size of 245. Small, chunky and dare I say, inelegant design. My wrist is fairly small but trying on sample in store looked comparatively tiny. Note that in promotional videos the watches are on women's wrists. Nonsensical Garmin choice when consider 45 model and larger fenix watches have smaller 's' models on top of regular sizes.

    • @Wuchtamsel
      @Wuchtamsel 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      That's hilarious. A 42mm watch is pretty much big by all watch standards. Wearing a 45mm barbell plate on your wrist is by no means manly, but simply ridiculous. If you want to look like a clown it's fine, though.
