I’ve gone to MUA school but this part I only somewhat understood because everyone (including the teacher) explained it like they all knew what it was. I asked for clarification a handful of times and they would only explain a bit like I was stupid and “how could I not understand”. Turns out I’m pretty sure I have autism (“obvious” things aren’t always obvious to me) and had been dealing with severe anemia which made it hard to understand certain concepts (brain function/fog). But this makes everything make much more sense! I almost gave up on makeup altogether because I felt it never seemed quite right on me (my skin tone is kind of like yours in this particular video). It’s just I hadn’t applied colour theory to my own face. 😂 I feel so much more confident and comfortable! I know what products could work for me and what I’m missing from my collection so far! ❤❤❤

I felt like those first two shades actually looked wonderful and not concealer lips but like actually nude, speaking from a professional makeup artist perspective with a large medium to tan girlie clientele
I think the first 2 pale shades aren't that bad on you tbh. Not an everyday look, for sure, but for a brown girl friendly Britney Spears Circus MV makeup -inspired look, it would be a great shade to use. (I kinda want to recreate that look for myself too cuz for it's such an intriguing makeup look! Every color used on her were so pale that it almost looks like she's wearing a no-makeup look and yet for some reason it still overall looks put together and doesn't wash her out. It looks like she has smokey eyes and her pale, pale lips (it does look like concealer lips but still pretty) don't wash her out. It's kinda fascinating and elegant.)
But tbf they still need those lighter shades for people who have a lighter complexion hut they also have darker shades so you cant say that fenty is not inclisive

The lighter shades look great on you they are just not your type of colors you prefer not that they are not brown girl friendly because they are with the right lipliner or gloss because I'm melanated and I prefer nudes with a pinky peachy undertones as I feel it looks best on my skin tone so I would say not for you due to preference versus it not being brown girl friendly cause that may not be the case for all brown girls as myself which I love and would rock the lighter shades .

I like the peri Pera velvet lipsticks and nyx has a whipped one but neither of them are as matte as the Fenty ones and they don’t have as great BGF shades 😢
Tbh they all look good even the light ones! They are definitely on the borderline but you don’t need a liner. But some gloss would be fire!!!!

Sephora 01 same color but mat formula
Romand zero velvet tint has the same texture and feel. It’s good.
The NYX whipped lipsticks are the closest to these.
