@@Menaal-cn9zx so it's not based on the color of the lips. Since the products themselves are opaque, there's no need for a white base, but good idea. Color theory is basically how a color looks around different colors. One girl has a lighter, rosier skin tone, so the red lipsticks appear very red and vibrant, while on the other hand, someone with a darker skin tone with different undertones will find that certain reds look more muted on them. For example, turquoise would look very blue next to a bright green, but if placed next to a bright blue, turquoise would look green in comparison.

Most brands don't include darker skin women or test all they colors (for lipstick, eyeshadow, blush, ect) on darker skin (beyond olive/golden skin). A lot of brands by Black women do have products that work for all complexions and hopefully more brands will follow this trend.
Hey there, I hope they try more shades, I'm latina with yellowish tones, I've tried cheeky , I think the reason it looks like that on us is because it's a soft dusty shade I think it looks good on cool undertones like summers, I look dead on it sadly. Your lips are naturally a gorgeous pinky color, I think that’s one of the reasons everything looks so different. Like yes skin tone obviously but I’m dark skinned and have no color on my lips lol

And she has these hilarious and chaotic vids where she’ll swatch all of her blushes or bronzer or whatever face product in the same tone and comment and connect ideas about each of them using color theory (you’ve got to hear about her “fjord’s color” - she didn’t know that fjords were bodies of water and started talking about the perfect, flushed color of “running through the fjords” lol, she was thinking of like a cold meadow, but now it’s a running joke and she does “fjords color” swatching videos all over her face. Bottles are the same. When the background is their skin the undertones show it differently but its the same bittles
