    A wonderful feeling of Deja-vu. Kai and Lok together, having fun and and demonstrating that you CAN get into decent photography without spending a fortune. You are an awesome team and have entertained me for years, ever since I first came across your original DRTV videos. You have also given me huge amounts of direct info about kit, techniques to use in my photography and views of places I might never see in real life; Taiwan, Amsterdam, Cologne and many others. And it was Lok, and his original video of the soon-to-be-launched X-Pro2 that got me started with Fuji. Many thanks to you both and I look forward to more videos like this, as well as fresh 'what's in my bag?' shows etc.

    D800/810s are insane value for money. Because of initial problems with frames cracking, they didn't get superb reviews when coming out, and everyone wanting mirrorless know (and as you mention nikon not being the current hot brand) they are especially cheap.
    Sensor in it is still absolutely bonkers, AFAIK still in the top50 sensors of DXOmark (at least last time I checked). So definitely a great option for landscape or portrait shooting, where AF and burst rate are much less important.

      I would still get a Z5. IBIS gives you sharper images, higher resolution is only relevant on tripods or with flash (or very bright sunny day) without IBIS or VR support. F-mount glass isn't as great as Z-mount lenses either. The newer 24-120mm f/4 Z beats all the F-mount zooms of similar focal length.

    • @fuglstad_explores
      @fuglstad_explores ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@shang-hsienyang1284 You would rather have an amateur Z5 over a D810? Haha well, if you're not a professional I'm sure Z5 will do you fine. :)

    • @shang-hsienyang1284
      @shang-hsienyang1284 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fuglstad_explores I know these two cameras well enough to know that the D810 is an inferior camera in most regards.
      Z mount lenses is superior than F mount lenses. What's the point of higher resolution when the lens sharpness is inferior? And when you stop down to get more sharpness, the lack of IBIS is going to rob away any benefit of the higher resolution. Z5 also offers focus bracketing, which is extremely critical to getting everything tack sharp. Most lens sharpness peak at f/4 or f/5.6, which often results in insufficient DoF, and reliable focus bracketing is very useful. D810's heavier weight and shutter shock also demamds heavier tripod. On most travel tripods the Z5 with electronic shutter provides extremely stable operation. Z5 also provide symmetrical card slots, better mobile connectivity, Canon EF and Sony E mount lens support via adapters, accurate eye-AF for portraits even at f/1.2 without focus shift.
      Anyone who chooses the D810 over the Z5 clearly does not know very well how these cameras perform.

    I'm loving these new mirrorless cameras despite not owning one. The used DSLR market is fantastic as a result of everyone ditching and switching to mirrorless. Yes! I beleive Kai is spot on when he states mirrors are good and people will realize this. I briefly owned a mirrorless and though you can see the results in the EVF it does have it's challenges. When using manual mode you will still have to pay attention to the exposure meter because the EVF display brightness setting might not correspond with the actual exposure.

    Times have changed. I remember in the DSLR days waay back there were 2 years of manufacturers jumping in the micro four turds (thirds) and mirrorless bandwagon but the technology was not there yet so everything was back to DSLR in less than 2 years, unlike today when even an aps-c mirrorless is capable to produce stunning images even in low light.
