    Hey..ok let me tell you my journey with this drug. First I am 50 years old..I started 3 weeks ago at 247 now I am 227. I took it in the morning with orange juice. Yes...because it was making very sick and I ate fruit for breakfast. Now during the day I drink my gallon of water and snack on fruit all day .I ate salads and veggies for lunch . No breads no sweets. Dinner veggies or tuna . I really make sure I am exercising at least 5 times a week. Not eating made the weight stay on. As soon as I started to eat...boom weight started falling off. Please please eat and drink your water.i hope this helped someone

      Making sure you're getting in an ample amount of calories while on this is super important. What happens when on a super restricted caloric intake is your hormones drop and metabolism adapts to a lower caloric intake over time, so when people stop using this medicine they gain the weight back quickly because they have then created metabolic damage and that can take years to get back to normal in some cases.

    this pill is so crazy im only on day 4 and already down 7lbs! day 1 i didn’t really feel any appetite suppression but i did immediately get cotton mouth which cause me to drink hella water. day 2 i made a sandwich with turkey, bacon, egg, and spinach and was full after 3 bites then for dinner i got full off of a spoon of green beans and a chicken leg 😭 i drank a little over 3 liters this day which is my daily goal. day 3 was the first day i worked out since starting on the pill and the energy was AMAZING not to mention i woke up at 6am that morning. i ran some errands after the gym and literally forgot to eat until almost 4pm which i ate 2 egg bites and i felt kinda nauseous before finishing those. then for dinner i made 2 eggs and drank a green juice because i didn’t feel like cooking i was just forcing myself to eat as i was not hungry at all. today is day 4 and also christmas. i cooked pot roast, mac and cheese, and sweet peas for my whole family and i literally sat and watched them eat😭 i ate a very tiny portion around 5pm it was literally my first meal of the day then i had 2 bite sized cookies and it’s 9:30pm and i am STUFFED still. i haven’t experienced any symptoms except dry mouth and i notice if i try to eat after im full i get nauseous but i am simply not eating enough so i may start taking the pill every other day or doing half a dose

      that's what I do ! My Doctor prescribed Phentermine for me back in November 2023. after about a month, I started taking it every OTHER day. As of today my total weight loss is 25.8lbs , I'm over 50 years old. While taking this medication, I am focused more on lower carb options, drinking my protein shakes each day, getting 10k steps each day and drinking close to a gallon of water each day. Im working to get to ONEDERLAND. God Bless you always !

    I just started 4 days ago. I'm paying close attention to any adverse effects but so far I had 1 night of insomnia and some nausea at night.
    I feel ridiculously relieved not to feel hungry all the time, and that, by itself, encourages me to eat healthier and gives me the energy to get up and move.
    I love that you suggested it being a tool, I couldn't agree more and I'll use these 3 months to form better habits.

      @@NJAlvarado612 not too bad, but I didn't get the energy it's supposed to give you. Not that I'm exhausted, I just feel normal. I do have ADHD and stimulants like this don't have the same effect on me as they would on someone else. I do not have cravings though! So, all in all, I've lost 12 pounds in a month and a half. If I had the increased energy it would be a lot more. The only thing that is so important is to drink a lot of water. You will get bad headaches if you don't.

    I used it a few years ago and did drop about 35 lbs. The weight did come back but slowly. Oddly, while taking it I did not exercise and eat well. I did, however, after I stopped it and was able to keep the weight off for a while. Now, I’m going back on it again. This time, I’m eating healthy, lower carb and zero processed foods, zero sugars. I’m exercising as well. I am hoping the phentermine gets me started with weight loss and I can take it from there. One more thing, I have Hashimoto’s. The phentermine really does make me feel almost normal again. It is a great feeling, but I didn’t have trouble stopping it at all last time. I didn’t even know it was addictive. So, hopefully I wont have trouble this time around. Thanks for a very informative video.

      You need to build a base of exercising and diet moderation prior to using phentermine in my opinion. I'm training for a half marathon and I am also on phentermine. I've been exercising prior to taking phentermine. Dropped from 232 lbs to 209 lbs from running alone with little to no diet change other than maybe being more aware of how much food I consume. I plateaued at 209 which is why I started taking the phentermine. I am now down to 202 lbs after 2 weeks on phentermine.

    I’ve been weightlifting strictly for 2 years now, but have been pretty lax on my diet. Still, in that period I was able to go from 105kg to 88kg. These last few months have been hard on my personal life though, and my diet worsened, and went back up to 98 kg. I decided to take a short 4 week treatment with 15mg to help push me back on the right track, 4 days in on my first week and am already at 95 kg, with proper training and diet it works wonders!

    I agree with everything except the alcohol interaction. I am an alcoholic and I've been drinking daily since I was 13 (I am now 49). When I start taking Phentermine and continue taking it, for up to a couple of years, my alcohol consumption is considerably reduced. As you said, alcohol is a depressant and Phentermine is a stimulant, so I used to take Phentermine in the mornings around 9AM while at work, and I would still feel the effects well into the evening. I normally (without Phentermine) start my night of drinking around 6PM and end it around 11PM to go to bed (total of about 6 beers). With Phentermine, I do not feel like drinking at all, and the only reason I drink, this time, at around 9PM at night, is to take my sleeping medication (Ambien) and eat a few vegetables, and I would be out even before 11PM. I would not eat anything throughout the day other than a 16oz Red Bull and maybe a cream cheese bagel, then at night, just spinach, cucumbers, kale, etc. I know I explained a lot about my routine but haven't mentioned anything about the weight loss. I lost 80 lbs in about a year using this method. I also used to go to the gym and work out just on the treadmill or elliptical, not weights, and that helped me quickly lose the weight. Rebound? Yes! I kept taking it continuously for about three years and then I weened myself off of it, and I gained weight again. I then asked my doctor to start me on Phentermine again, and I did the exact same thing I did before, and I lost it again. Phentermine does work and you have to adjust your life when you start taking it and also you have to learn to let it go for a couple of years before you start consuming it again. Just my 2 cents to you and I liked your explanation. It's right up to the point with the exception of the alcohol, at least for me.

      Well, technically, yes. We must have a back up plan,..and everyone can be different! Isn’t that wonderful? For me, it’s intermittent water fasting. I stop eating at a certain hour, skip breakfast and begin (or have a “window” ) when I eat again. This, in combination with cooking organic foods…eating organic grains in my foods ( oatmeal, bulgar wheat, etc) and veggies 🥕 seems to work. I also make smoothies. Granted, it takes focus…and I do meal prep so things are already chopped & prepped for ease. I eat tortillas with Amy’s refried beans, substituted cheese, organic lettuces..yum.

    Started on the medication about two weeks ago after working from home for 2yrs due to covid. I’ve been burnt out, stressed, lethargic, not used to sitting all day, and the heaviest I’ve ever been. Recently, I’ve been required to work out of the house at odd hours, and coffee/rest hasn’t helped. After starting phentermine, I haven’t had any coffee and even the little caffeine from a soda will make my heart race. I feel focused, energized, ready to get active. My appetite is gone and hunger feels like a passing thought, so i am forcing myself to eat, and eat healthier specifically. Overall, i have lost about 8 pounds and counting, increasing my daily exercise will probably be the key to keeping the weight off for good. Dry mouth and weird tastes are very much a thing, I keep water handy at all times. The only major side effect was pretty bad headache one day when I didn’t take the meds on time, which makes me a little nervous for when I get weaned off them.

    • @PatDaBakerz
      @PatDaBakerz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Update, I have lost 20 pounds and counting. I would say it’s half attributed to the meds, half from better dieting and being active at work. The bitter aftertaste of food has helped me to m control my portions and l I even forget to eat during the day, I no longer eat to feel full or as a means to relieve stress. I will say, I have not been able to consistently take the meds; after the first two weeks of taking them every day, my heart felt like it was going to explode. My compromise is to take them Monday through Thursday and take Friday through Sunday off to help my body recalibrate. Again, I’m not sure if that’s healthy and someone will have to let me know if that’s bad, but I’ve noticed that the meds are still doing what they are supposed to do when I take them like that. Aside from that, I still don’t drink caffeine and my energy levels are pretty consistent. I would recommend taking vitamins during the process in order to account for the smaller food portions. I still have cheat days on the weekend, but overall am very happy with my results and will probably discontinue the meds once I can incorporate a real exercise regimen into my schedule.

    I've been prescribed this more than once (have been on currently on for the past 6 months. I was on it years before this and it had no effect either), it doesn't do anything. However, I get palpitations (come and go), sweat (uncontrollably at times and it's NOT hot.... extremely embarrassing especially when at work/Medical field), I'm also on Jenny Craig (been for years which worked, but over the past year my weight came back with a vengeance and I have made no changes). I lost maybe 4lbs the entire time which fluctuates every month. I told my pcp I didn't want to take it and she responded with, "no, just keep taking it with the Topamax and it should work". I gained, now I've stopped the Topamax and busperione because that's typically used in conjunction with this medication... again, it has not worked for me and the side affects are embarrassing and make me feel terrible.

    Has anyone had any experience of feeling normal hunger during menstruation? I am feeling VERY discouraged because I was on this for such a short period of time and did begin to feel the appetite suppressant. I was beginning to lose (after losing 45 pounds on my own then the scale just STOPPED, I mean for weeks I didn't lose a thing and was so frustrated) and I noticed the difference but now I feel the hunger and I want to believe it is because of menstruation and not because it simply stopped working after such a short period of time.
    Please, if anyone has experience with this scenario, I've been looking all over and have had no answers to this particular situation.

    So I started going to the gym about 5 years ago. I was 330 lbs, and I put a lot of time into it. I focused primarily on Cardio & was going twice a day, 3 days a week, and then once a day, 3 days a week. I was also boxing 2-3 days a week as well. In addition, I cut out all soda, beer, alcohol, and milk, and I only had red meat about once every month (if that). In the first two weeks, I lost 20 lbs. Then, the following two weeks, I lost 10 lbs. After the first month, I started to lose on average about 4-5 lbs each week. Of course, I had a few hiccups where I gained some weight, but I stayed consistent at the gym, and in 5 months, I was down to 250 lbs. I felt great the whole time but noticed that after that 5 months, I started to plateau & just couldn't lose any more weight. It didn't matter if I ate less, better, or exercised more. Nothing I did was helping. I started to lift weights to target other parts of the body, and it worked for about 2 months. I got down to 240 lbs. Then again, I couldn't lose a pound, no matter what I did. This went on for over two years. Consistently going to the gym & eating fairly well but still zero weight loss & zero improvement in physical muscle appearance. I would just yoyo up & down about 8 lbs, back n forth. Finally, my Dr. Prescribed me phentermine. After the first week of using it, I was down to 230. I did notice a huge decrease in my appetite, but it didn't feel like it did much of anything else. I didn't feel anxious, no nausea, no shakes, I felt the same as always, but I just wasn't as hungry. About 2 months after taking it, I feel it just stopped working. I don't notice any difference in anything. I'm right back to feeling hungry all the time. There's no more weight loss, even though I'm doing MORE at the gym now. I even gained weight back, and I'm back up to 255. I stopped taking it for about 2 weeks but did notice that I gained about 10 lbs during that time. I started again but didn't lose any weight, but I'm also not gaining anymore. I've been at 255 for a long while now. I get off of it from time to time, but notice I'll gain weight, so I start again to at least maintain where I'm at . Any time I've been off of it, I've NEVER felt any type of addiction or withdrawal from it. Nothing at all. I've been trying to figure out what my next step is to start losing weight again...

      Figure out your TDEE and Count your calories. There is no way you’re not losing weight while you’re on a deficit and working out. You can’t stay at the same deficit forever you have to keep going down. That’s why your deficits have to start maximum at 500 calories. When you plateau, go up to 600 and so on little by little. In order to lose one pound of fat Per week, you must be in a deficit of 3,500 calories Per week OR 500 calories per day. I say OR per week because u can always play around with daily calories as long as they add up to a deficit of 3,500 per week. Also, Remember not all calories are the same. 100 calories of broccoli is not the same as 100 calories of potato chips. The reason why you might not see improvement in muscle tone is because you are not doing progressive overload. You’re not challenging your muscles to work harder therefore they aren’t growing. I can say this because I am also in a plateau but I recognize it’s because I am not putting in the work. I eat clean and stay in a caloric deficit Mon- Thursday but make up for that deficit in my weekend not-so-healthy meals. So I’ve been stuck bc of my weekend habits. The only difference is I actually do progressive overload and and seeing my muscles grow but still there is a lot of fat over those muscles. My highest weight: 255, starting weight on May 2020: 247. Lowest weight about one year ago: 175 . Current weight : 180. And for the past year I’ve yo-yo up and down between 175-180. Bottom line I need to stop the BS. And stay consistent even on the weekends

      I also go the gym 6 times a week & train in the classic bodybuilding style of 1 body part per week. 7 years ago, I was pre-diabetic & the endocrinologist prescribed me phentermine with Victoza injection (which was the first generation Ozempic). I lost 50 lbs in a year. I came off the Victoza & took the phentermine off & on for another 2 years. Like you, it stopped working & gradually, I began gaining weight again. I track all my food through Cronometer & have been wearing a Fitbit to track calories burned. There is no doubt that I burn more calories than I eat, yet I am gaining weight. In fact, I gained all the weight back over the 5 years of not taking prescription medications. Now my muscle mass has increased & my body is hard, but I have a layer of fat, especially on my midsection- abs & lower back. I am sure I'm insulin resistant and although I have tried natural supplements & even the keto diet, nothing works. I'm going to start Ozempic & see what happens. Metabolism changes dramatically as we age, I'm now a 49 year old woman, so I can't just "drop weight" like a 20 year old can. Hopefully, I'll lose the 50 lbs again & keep them off.

    I took this after having my child and gaining weight. The np had me also go in every month for a b12 shot. I lost 50 lbs in 6 months. Thinnest I’ve ever been as an adult. However, I hated taking it. It gave me horrible restless legs at night making it very difficult to sleep and it made my heart do weird things. It did make me not feel hungry which really helped me moderate my portions and make better choices of what I was eating. It also gave me energy so I was able to get more movement in than normal which helped me exercise, walk, take the stairs, do 5ks… Once I hit 6 months, I plateaued and it stopped working. I quit taking it and continued feeling not hungry and able to keep eating healthy for about 4 years after. Then all-of-a-sudden I was feeling super hungry again, cravings, energy gone… ended up gaining all of the weight back plus put on another 30 lbs on top of that. I tried several times since then to use it again, but now it just doesn’t do anything at all. No energy, I still feel hungry, my heart hurts, my legs won’t let me sleep. For 4 years I felt amazing, I felt normal, I felt comfortable in my own skin.. and now it’s just gone. No matter what I do, I can’t lose any weight and I’m the biggest I’ve ever been in my life. It’s just like any other weight loss quick fix. You can’t take it forever and it isn’t sustainable. Plus, it damages your heart and nervous system.

      I would get blood work done to see if it’s thyroid or hormonal imbalances or any underlying medical condition. I have been dealing with losing weight and gaining it all back and I am at my heaviest 225 pounds after weighing 144 last year after getting out the hospital for a medical condition so I am in the same boat even if I eat healthy or unhealthy the weight did not budge. I would also check your body type endormorph body types have slow metabolism and gain weight easily so cutting out all processed foods and limiting on carbs/sugar intakes or alternating on sugar and carbs to keep your body guessing,apple cider vinegar and a metabolic booster can probably help to. Always check with your doctor first. I am going to try this pill to see if it will help with losing the weight since it’s an appetite suppressant. I wonder if they have prescribe metabolic pills for slow metabolism as well that is super strong.

      Lomaira was bothersome to me because you have to remember to take it 30 min before you eat. At least with Adipex, you take it in the morning, and that's it.

    Thank you for this video. I started taking it today. My doctor told me to take it first thing in the morning as it would keep me awake. But an hour after I took it I was so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open (I am know to have odd side effects w/ medications like meds that should make you tired wire me to the point I can't sit still). I took it at 7:30am, at 8:30am took a nap until 11am. I ate a applesauce fruit cup. Now it is 6pm and I have ate nothing else and am not hungry at all. I feel like I should eat, like my intelligent brain is telling me that its not ok to go all day with just a fruit cup (like 1/2 cup of applesauce) but my belly isn't at all interested in food. Is this normal? I figure if Im still not hungry in an hour I'll eat anyways and call my dr tomorrow.

      @@poycicle1953 Sorry, for the delay. After a few days it stopped making me so tired and I was able to go about my normal day. I still eat a very light lunch and then normal by dietitian size dinner. I do sometimes have to remind myself to eat or it will get very late before I actually feel hungry. I lost 10 pounds the first month. It would have been more most likely but I got bronchitis in the middle of the month and was put on steroids because I have asthma. So I stopped taking phentermine until I was better. It was about 2 weeks. I am back on it now and go back to the Dr on the 13th of Oct. Will update on progress then. 😊

    Is there a difference between PHENTERMINE and PHENTRAMINE ?

    • @BrianYeungND
      @BrianYeungND  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes. PHENTERMINE is the prescription drug I'm talking about. "PHENTRAMINE" appears to be a similarly-named, over-the-counter supplement with no relation to the drug.

    Been using it now for about a week and a half I’m now at 346 lbs and 6”6” and was 367. I lost 21 lbs in that time. I’m morbidly obese so the weight has been falling off quicker due to extreme calorie restriction and and drinking lots of water (probably around 3 gallons per day). The weight loss clinic I’m in said not to do that cuz my electrolytes could be expelled from my body but I have to say I still feel hungry on it. I’m taking a tablet and a half. Probably not enough for someone my size. I just am trying to ignore my hunger at this point. I hope they’ll one day make a drug to reduce Grellin if it doesn’t already exist. That kinda drug would probably be more effective cuz then you just won’t get hungry at all.

      @@JustThePR Absolutely! I typically walk anywhere from 4-8 miles each night and other nights I’ll do the elyptical machine at the 24 hour gym and leg workouts as well. I wanna do strength training for my upper body but have tennis elbow currently. Once I get that taken care of though I’ll be doing a ton more strength training. I’ve since gotten to 315 so it has been working but I found it’s good to take other things with the phentermine like a thermogenic fat burner.

    I’m 42 and taking phentermine 37.5z. I’ve taken this before years ago and it did wonders for my energy and weight.
    A few days ago, after a week of taking it I became so fatigued and exhausted that it scared my sister, husband and kids. I had been tired on it all week, but Saturday was the nail in the coffin for me. I thought I was going to die I was so out of it. And my doctor won’t be in until tomorrow to discuss it with me.
