just wanted to mention, bupropion actually isn't a stimulant! it has stimulant-like effects. that is why people who have ADHD who cannot take stimulants like ritalin, are often prescribed it.
@@alliebrotz3255 I was gonna comment this too lol definitely an antidepressant and not stimulant. crazy people don’t even know what they’re putting in their bodies. 😅
@@djbanks7546 I mean, technically, it's an NDRI. Norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor. Ritalin is an NDRI as well. The effects are different but I would definitely classify bupropion as a stimulant simply because it raises the same neurotransmitters that conventional stimulants raise.
My Wellbutrin dose got increased to 300mg. I started to eat less. I go days without eating. I have no appetite. I have lost 16lbs in less than a month. ..
Kira C And are you choosing to continue taking it with that weight loss? That is very unhealthy and if your doctor was in it for your well being I’m not sure he would continue to up your dose.
Thanks for the update.... It's my 3rd day and I had an anxiety issue for about 15 minutes. Started researching and came across your video. I chilled out and feel better. I'm not the only taking this.. I'll Stick with it
Ive been on Wellbutrin for 1 month. The first day- i felt it kick in, nothing major. Next day- i woke up with a huge headache. Took tylenol and was fine. Felt nauseous through out the day. This did continue for a couple weeks. Ive lost 8 lbs because I simply have no appetite. I feel great, I am not as depressed as I was when I started Wellbutrin. I feel mostly happy daily, I have my moments, but not like before. I am supposed to go to 300 mg after 2 weeks, I did and got a huge headache and started to feel really emotional. I went back to 75 mg the next day and have stuck to that and that seems better for me. Good luck to all
I'm on day 18, first week felt pretty great, no side effects at all, after one week increased from 150mg xl to 300mg xl. I take it immediately upon waking. I noticed the second week a couple headaches and a couple times of rapid heart rate but they went away after a little bit. Now on day 18 still get a little rapid heart rate but only lasts an hr tops. My mood is stabilized. I wouldn't say I'm super happy but I am motivated to do things and hyper focused. Also what's weird for me is my appetite didn't go away, it actually got stronger.. Lol. I hope it's still working good for you :)
Man I hope my appetite comes back man:( I’m feeling like shit. I’m on day 21. I could go the entire day without eating and I don’t got weight to lose. I’m an athlete:/ The no food thing is making my body hurt.
abuse potential maybe, but Wellbutrin is black labeled meaning it can cause suicidal thoughts. Where Adderall's abuse potential comes from it being addictive cause its an amphetamine. Just food for thought.
I just got prescribed 2 days ago and haven't had the courage to go get the medication. I'm completely afraid. I keep looking at my prescription note and cry.
Dixie Normiss that’s not true. A lot of people don’t even get nauseous on it and the medicine has helped so many people out. People who can’t handle the side effects for 2 days are the ones who give up.
@@InsightofSamantha thank you so much! I'm on day 16 and am gradually feeling better. The 5-10 day were awful. I'm glad I finally decided to go for it! I have faith it'll get better.
This is great to hear. I'm just about to get my prescription in a couple days and I'm so nervous. I don't have the energy to do anything especially house chores and being that fun mom I want to be 🥲
I'm on day 5 and I feel all over the place. The second day I felt so high. I was at work and I had no idea what I was doing. Couldn't focus at all, swinging to hyperfocusing. Was crazy. Appetite very suppressed. Now during the day I feel kind of high still and tapers off in evening. I'm on 150 mg, and was told to double the dose at 2 weeks
Thank you dearly Samantha for opening discussion about Wellbutrin and your experience taking it. That was very brave of you. Reading everyones experiences with the medication has help me immensely. Dear Danielle My experience the first time I tried getting on this medication was very similar to yours. By day 3 and 4 I felt like I was going insane! I had to get on a different antidepressant, it did work but I gained 40lbs and lost all sex drive and felt blah. I read that Wellbutrin was clinically best antidepressant with the least side effects. But... How to get on it with out going crazy. 🤔 I talked to my doctor and came up with a plan. My goal was to get up to 2 pills a day=300ml. I started out on a quarter of a pill. I did notice very mild side effects, jittery a bit of insomnia... As I began to feel stable on the dose I would increase the dose by one quarter again. Each time I would adjust I would feel better and better, I have to admit it's been a long journey but I'm very happy with this medication.
Hi Sam! Glad your feeling better. Oddly enough my family member was prescribed Buproprion as well. They were feeling really emotional the first week and anxiety was at a higher level as well. Thank you for your first video on this because I kept referencing back to how you said you felt the first few days. They stuck it out for this 1st week on it and I see a difference in them. Hopefully they can continue to feel better. Again thank you so much!
Monica Trevino that’s exactly how I felt my first week! I too was emotional but after the first week I started feeling myself again! Overall, I am on week 2 and I feel WAY better than week one! I hope your family member is okay and I hope this medicine works in their favor! 😪💕🙌🏼
Thank you for stating this, I've just been switched to this medication and I'm on day three and i was so worried i was having a bad reaction to it. I'll check back in with an update in a couple weeks.
Thanks for taking time to talk with us! I just started taking Wellbutrin today, and decided to do research. I came across a couple horror stories but hearing you talk about your experience and reading the comments I feel much better. I'm just really worried about the appetite part cause I'm never hungry anyway...
I did have a mild headache and felt fidgety at first. I took one 150mg extended release at about 10:30 a.m. eastern. The weirdest thing is that it makes my mouth feel strange. But I finally became hungry and ate. Now I just feel focused on the computer/homework a bit more than normal.
I’m on seroquel and wellbutrin, seroquel puts me to sleep and helps my manic episodes. wellbutrin helps the grogginess and also my attention throughout my day. Seroquel makes you eat more and wellbutrin does the opposite, it’s a good happy medium to help maintain my current weight without overeating or not eating enough. getting correct rest while being in wellbutrin is essential to avoid anxiety attacks on it
I’m on seroquel as well and about to start Wellbutrin. Do you take it in the morning or at night? My pharmacist told me it could either make you dizzy and sleepy or make insomnia worse so I’m just here like 🤷♀️
Does the wellbutrin affect your sleep negatively? I am not reacting well to ssris and thought i’d give this one a chance but scared it will keep me awake and I already have the worst insomnia. Can’t win.
Samantha Piedra omg thanks for asking. It’s honestly going well! I haven’t had any major side effects yet, maybe a little more emotional, and restless at night. I hope to see an improvement in my anxiety and depression soon. I appreciate all your videos sharing your experience with it!
Tatted Success Fitness I hope it goes well for you! I have been on it for about 3 weeks now and I’ve seen a big difference. I feel happier and less anxious.
I started off on Wellbutrin SR 100mg for a month...had no side effects or changes in my mood or motivation. Then I went up to the standard dose of 150mg Wellbutrin XL...I do feel an increase in energy and it seems to be helping with my mood and social anxiety (a little).
@@InsightofSamantha Did you experience any hair loss. I just got on it and it’s great. But I noticed some pay said they had hair loss on it so that worries me.
I need your Help Guys..after 4 days of Taking this I started to feel very Itchy, Jaw tightness, throat felt swollen, difficulty swallowing and Also Like I couldnt take a Proper breath 🤯🤯 Did anyone else get similar side effects with their throat?....I really dont wanna Stop the Medicine Cause I like certain effects It gives...maybe I should Do 75 MG once a day?
I decided I should watch this video after seeing the two months one to see the change because I've been on it much less then two months. Yesterday was my day off and I had an emotion breakdown over organizing stuff I haven't unpacked since moving across country. Lots of reminders of why I needed to move away from a bad situation; very overwhelming. But it's good to know it gets better.
I’m on 300 mg I’ve been taking it for a while now probably a year . it definitely makes you less hungry , Im really organized now like my anxiety is gone Before I couldn’t do simple stuff like order my food and talk to people otp now I can, and I started stuttering a lot and its weird asf it’s lowkey embarrassing Also it’s extremely hard to cry now
@@meshalshmri5560 yes, before I wasn’t able to walk in a place and Order my food now I can I don’t even think about it. Same with going to the store And being in large crowds I always felt like everyone was staring at me I’m fine now

@@jeromejacques6058 NAW MAN I got off of it ..I was having very vivid sad dreams..I gained weight..I felt oncoming deep sorrow..i gave it a month and it just did the opposite.
Currently how I’m feeling now, Depressed. The other day I’ve slept for 13 hours. And not very hungry which is definitely not me lmao I love food. I get hungry every other day now.
I am on week 2 of the same meds and similar personally with anxiety and I had very similar experiences.. there was one day in the first week where it felt like I couldn’t get a deep enough breath but pushed through. Now I’m mellowed out and think better. thank god I’m finally calm and not always overly anxious.
This is 3 years ago video, but I had a great experience with this medication. I was prescribed this medication for my depression and not being able to focus. It helped me get through college. As an older adult, I'm 29, I always want to try to go back to medication. I don't take anything now, but as an adult with "adult shit to do" I'm having a hard time trying to focus and get through things. This is my personal story with this medication. I also learn to make sure when you want to stop taking any antidepressants make sure you have a therapist. Someone to talk to and help you navigate without medication. I still work with mine. You have to realize that these meds help, but when you actually do therapy that helps so much more.
Day 1, laughed my ass off, went on a boat ride with my mom and sister, my brain doesn’t burn like it did on lexapro and risperidone, I don’t feel hopeless anymore. I’m looking forward to 6 months of feeling myself so I can get off this medication, go to Mexico, study Spanish, drink some beers and live my life. I need to make a video like you because I had an adverse reaction with a risperidone injection for being “bipolar” which wasn’t a correct diagnosis because nobody believed that I was bipolar (not even the doctors at U of M) but after my injection, I couldn’t breathe, I was having panic attacks, I couldn’t think well, I was feeling insane because I temporarily had Akathisia and these side effects lasted a month and then after that bad experience I was like hell no to injections but the side effects were still haunting me after the injection left my system so I went onto lexapro hoping it would help my anxiety and depression and alleviate side effects but that didn’t work so my time on lexapro I became more hopeless, drowsy, panicky and my brain was burning. Today I took Wellbutrin for the first time after being on lexapro and Xanax for 22 days... I started my day feeling hopeless, panicky, agitated and on edge and now I’m smiling and laughing, the burning in my head stopped and I feel normal, I feel like studying Spanish again, I feel like a king only because I feel like myself but I’m not depressed or worried about anything, I pray that these effects persist and only get better because the people I love are counting on me to get better, once I’m become chemically balanced, I’m off these drugs forever, I’ll never look back, I hate medication but I truly believe I’m in dire need of it right now.
It takes alot of courage to seek out help for yourself. I hope the medication is helping you and idk if Anyone told you today but you are strong and i am proud of you!
I love your transparency listening to your video I'm glad you're taking time to allow the medication work. Having taken Wellbutrin myself for seasonal depression listening to the side affects you documented allow me to feel as though you experienced an oversensistivity to the medicine and I also perhaps it was too much for you especially since you made mention you were driving over an hr going to the base ball game with friend so you seem like a very active individual and if anything it may have been more the anxious feelings that were more bothersome for you . I'm no dr I just take Wellbutrin not going into the specifics but I definitely benefit from the increase in dopomine it gives to the neurotransmitters you talked about in the brain. Just hearing you talk and express is awesome just felt like your provider had you on the wrong drug and it wouldn't surprise me if today you're on something entirely different God Bless wish you well young lady
Thank you so much for sharing your experience; this is really helpful. I also used to take Wellbutrin and were always worried by my elevated heart rate. I did remember that it affected my mood a little bit, but not so much my focus (I suffer from both depression and ADHD). After running out one day, I did then stopped taking it abruptly (which is never a good idea). I debate a lot with myself about whether I should have continued, please keep us updated. :)
I’m on Paroxetine and starting Wellbutrin tomorrow. Hope it goes well. My brain fog is out of this world bad and I have no energy. Doc says it should help.
I’ve been taking Wellbutrin for six days now and I’ve been crazy nauseous every single day. Has any one else had this symptom too I’ve also noticed everything makes me upset
I take mine with Greek yogurt. I have been able to stop that sick feeling by taking it an hour or so you really wanna get up and wake up. I eat the thick Greek yogurt and avoid liquids until I wake back up.
I'm 57 been taking Paxil for many years, my wife died almost 7 years ago and I still grieve for her. My doctor prescribed the 150 mg XL and haven't taken it as of yet. oh the reason for Paxil was for a panic disorder, and having Anxiety just taking this new drug. Hopefully more positives than negatives. I didn't catch a 3rd video from you as how you are doing now?. Thank You for this video.
@Scifi763 It has worked wonders. I cried everyday for 7 years from the loss of my wife and now I don't, doesn't mean I don't still miss her, but grieving was taking me down. Actually when I see my doctor I'll ask about bumping my dose up as well.
Thanks Mitch and scifi for sharing. I hope these meds are working well for you both. I just started my first day on this Med (150mg) and I’m hoping it stabilizes my mood. I have adhd and anxiety and get agitated easily. I’m always in a funky mood and it’s causing a strain in my marriage. With that said, both Your stories give me hope. So thanks for sharing and keep on trucking!
@@mikeylikey1974 Hey Mike, initially they were really helpful, but after 6 months started to fizzle out and am in the dumps again, but tomorrow I am seeing my doctor which your timing is perfect and going to see if I can get bumped up to 300 mgs cause I'm very impressed with the meds. Give it a few weeks no matter how you feel and you will feel normal again. God Bless You Bro! 🙏
Mitch M right on. My doctor said after two weeks we can bump it to 300mg if everything goes well. Surprised yours didn’t up it. I think 300 is ideal but everyone is different. Good luck to you sir and may God bless you brother 👍🏽
I'm about to take my first round of wellbutrin, I've never been so anxious about a medication in my life. Previous medications have caused me to go off the deep end so hopefully this will help😣

Thank you so much for this vid. I was on lexapro for over 3 years, and was just prescribed Wellbutrin for ADHD symptoms.... Appreciate the honest review!
I just uploaded a 1 year review on my channel about 2 days ago! You can view that one too and I talk beginning until how I feel now :) best of luck to you!
I have been on Lexapro for the last 3 months and I feel like it hasn’t done anything besides make me tired...I am also ADD and take adderall 15mg XR. I have an apt with my doctor today and was wanting to ask her about Wellbutrin instead
Im on day 7 of wellbutrin xl. I was prescribed mainly for anxiety. The first few days felt really good. I noticed my mood get a lot better and anxiety definitely decreased. I wonder if this was placebo effect because now the past couple days my mood has been all over the place. I get these moments where intense depression takes over me in a matter of seconds. But then I have moments where I am more energized and my mind is racing. Yesterday I ran 5 miles and Im not a runner Ive never ran that much in my life so that was interesting. Its been quite an emotional roller coaster the past few days. I haven't experienced any of that extreme focus-- or any focus really. I am really hoping that this medication works for me.
I'm on day 3 of Wellbutrin to quit smoking, so far I feel pretty energized. I dont think much about food, so thats good! If it works, i'd like to take it for depression and anxiety too!
Bupropion can indeed increase anxiety in certain individuals especially people who have caffeine or stimulant sensitivities. It floods the brain with dopamine and increases epinephrine production (Adrenaline). Adrenaline will increase your heart rate which in turn can cause anxiety or panic attacks. I’ve been taking Wellbutrin for 6 years. After a while you most likely will not get the anxious side affects anymore. Research the drug for yourselves and don’t take my word or a teenage girl on TH-cam’s word for it.
Wellbutrin is actually not a stimulant but it is in the same category as caffeine as a psychoactive drug and yes stimulants give feelings of alertness and “energy” because caffeine blocks receptors in the brain that cause feeling tired. Your heart racing was a side effect that is rare among patients taking Wellbutrin.
Today is day one so this is helpful to know. It was a weird feeling this am but now as the day is ending I feel more mellow. I have been on celexa for years and I hated how numb it made me so I am hoping this one will work better!
I am at Walmart, sitting in parking lot in my car, contemplating picking up my Rx for this. I have never taken anything like this. I feel almost scared..dumb I know.
It’s honestly not that bad. Everyone reacts differently to prescriptions. Try not to doubt yourself, be confident and test the waters to see if you’re comfortable with it or not.
This video really helped me so much! I’m on week 2.5 of bupropion and I was so nervous to start. Thanks to your video I knew what to expect and got over my fear of taking it. The first 3 days I definitely experienced that energy increase like you said. Then days 4-9 I was dealing with some uncomfortable side effects. But after that things started getting a lot better! Thank you for your help
Thank you for this video. I have returned home from a stay at inpatient care. I've started on Welbutrin 300mg extended release, and I've ended up with tremors as a side effect. Hell, tapping this out is a pain in the ass, lol. But it's good to hear the positive effects it's had on you so far. Been searching for some answers :)
Day 3 here! I woke up this morning, and my head feels like I have the worst hangover. I’m dehydrated feeling. (5:35) I was prescribed for weight loss and to help with mood. However, I was told to take one in the AM and PM (12 hrs apart) to maintain. Anyone else doing two like this? It feels off.
I was prescribed for weight too. I am day 5 now. Before today I was ok. Today I am not feeling well. My heat beating fast and I can hear my heart. Very jittery but doesn’t want to move. Feel tired the same time but not able to take a nap either. Very weird.
Thank you so much for this. Im on Paxil now. and ive just been prescribed well burin to take along with the Paxil. I struggle a lot wit depression and anxiety and have trouble focusing so hopefully this will help more. This video definelty made me more comfortable.
@@stephasacat hey I hope it works out for you. I’m currently on 450mg and I definitely feel like it helps me have the strength to push through and I feel that I’m better equipped to get up and handle everyday task again and hard/ emotional crisis better. Of course i still have sad/ bad moments, but it’s definitely better than where I’ve been. I’ve also been going to therapy. My psychiatrist told me that that is what’s really going to help me. With my diagnosis I have the possibility of not having to take these meds for the rest of my life but therapy is the key to that- so I’m trying. I hope this gives you hope that there are brighter days to come it can be tough getting regulated with the meds but you can do it. I hope bupropion helps❤️❤️❤️
This video has helped me feel better about my side effects. I am using it for quiting nicotine, anxiety and depression. It's day three now and everything was fine until last night when i fell asleep and had the most vivid nightmare of my life. And I've felt like a zombie all day. I used marijuana heavily for a long time to help with my anxiety but it was a chore at times. This medication has made me feel the best I have in years. My anxiety is gone and this cleared all my worries that it gets better. Thank you :) Edit: if you are quitting smoking talk about it with your doctor it's day three of no smoking and I have no cravings and the thought of smoking makes me sick now. It has worked wonders
@Jib Melon Hey dude, yeah it gets better. I have a lot of my side effects still but the dreams have noticably changed for the better. I do recall still having these vivid dreams but I can't remember them anymore like the first couple nights and they were mostly normal I think. As far as the worst I'm feeling right now is just a dry mouth and a mild headache. As far as that goes it's worth it to stick through it and it gets better. I cried tears of happiness instead of sadness for the first time in a long time. Stick through it and give it time to adjust. The "high" I was getting the first few days stopped as well. Fun at first gets old after three days lol
@Jib Melon I forgot to add it's different for everyone. So if you think you should have a lower dose because it hasn't gotten better I'd talk to my doctor. I'm going today to see if I can switch to two smaller doses throughout the day because I still feel a little zombie like. I love that I get excited about things again though. Also I forgot to answer your question. Yes I had a full night's sleep finally but before that I think I only slept around 25-30 hours last week because of the medication.
I just started and have the same symptoms. I've felt this way before, when I tried quitting nicotine. This is nicotine withdrawal because it antagonizes the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. If you have ADHD and smoke this med may make you feel so exhausted and irritated that it's just not worth taking. My ears are ringing and my heart is beating so fast. Everyone reacts differently but this is why these effects occured for me at least.
@@InsightofSamantha a week of that would probably be too much for me...Id have to ween on it slowly to avoid that side effect, but it seems for most people welbutrin doesn't work that great for anxiety/panic attacks, but im glad you had success with it.

@G B honestly I'm going to stop taking it after trying it for a month. I dont like how I feel. Brain foggy and forgetful. Hi! I’ve been diagnosed with a MDD a couple of years ago and with ADHD 3 months ago. I’ve been on several antidepressants such as Prozac, Altruline, Lexapro, Duloxetine and I haven’t had a stable response to them. I’m a physician, so I suggested my neurologist to start on Wellbutrin because of its demonstrated effect on both ADHD and MDD. At the moment I’m on Wellbutrin XL 300mg and Samexid (lisdexanphetamine) associated with lamotrigine so that I can get more control of my impulses. I can tell you it’s a great drug owing to its mechanism of action and pharmacokinetics profile. Hope you keep getting better💕

I’m on day 3 of Wellbutrin XL 150 mg. It makes my mouth dry so I’ve been drinking a lot more water. Other than that, I haven’t seen an increase in my mood but I’m hopeful.
I was prescribed Wellbutrin 300 mg for mdd.. it gave me energy my body couldn't keep up with like go go go cleaning, going for walks, bursts of excitement, headaches, crying spells, easily agitated, no hunger, but it did get me out of bed, didn't sleep 12 hours anymore, lower sex drive, constipation, but it got me out of my head (suicidal thoughts/dissociation), also heart palpitations tho I do drink a lot of coffee and not wanting to smoke as much.. So I think this is what I needed lol
What MG did you start off on? I just started 150mg once a day about 3 weeks ago. My main symptoms where stomach problems. Overall, I noticed that my mood has been so much more bubbly, and I didn't know it was also a ADHD med, and I can see now why I'm focusing more than I used to. Thank you for the video!
I’m on almost week 2... my stomach has been so weird the last few days and I’ve been feeling horrible. Did the stomach problems last a while by any chance?
Ok, I have had this in the past, but I just don't understand how it works...like the side effects are similar to anxiety and many others but it's also used to help with depression and ADHD, how can it combat something while giving it to you?
do not delegate your heatlh to a pill, it can help, but like, you still have to work your issues, change your ways, because you are deppressed for a reason, taking a pill will make you feel good for a while only, trust me, i have been on several treatments....the only one that really reallly works for me is: EXERCISE, SUN, HEALTHY FOOD AND DOING THINGS I LIKE, OH AN MEDITATION YESSS.
I am currently on Prozac and I’m seeing my Doctor tomorrow to change the medication, I have absolutely no sex drive and I’m looking Into everything over analyzing EVERYTHING! I’m doing research on some other possible meds, thanks for the info!

The gym is the best way to help with depression. You feel more healthy overall, which makes you feel better. Also, the improvement in your looks helps you feel more confident and less depressed.

Trying to do a little research on antidepressants and medication with similar effects for example anxiety and this is one of the videos I have came across. You was a pleasure to listen to and I hope everything goes perfect for you from now on, thank you and take care
I've been on it 2 weeks and unfortunately I'm so paranoid and withdrawn I never leave the house. Social anxiety which is very unusual for me. Dry mouth and fatigue.
@@dylannpetersen9 I'm still on it. I cut the dosage down and feel better. The side effects seem better. I cut my pills into fourths which drs say not to but I don't care. Plus I began taking it at night because it was giving me daytime fatigue. My appetite is lower on it which is why I'm trying to stay on it.
I have been on Wellbutrin for a week and four days. Everything was fine until three days ago when I started getting really bad headaches. They have been constant from the time I wake up to when I go to sleep, has anyone experienced this? if you have, how long does this side effect last because I am started to get irritated easily.
My Dr. jus prescribed this medication, I’m so Nervous about taking it, but I’m going through menopause and I feel so sad, crying all the time, mad at the world, so empty heart, so please pray for me, menopause is the devil
This drug has been around forever. I’m in peri menopause and I take this daily. While she seems sweet, her experience is dramatic. Most people will have few negative symptoms only positive side effects. Did you start it?
You and I are similar in what we feel even though I am on lexapro. The shit thing about lexapro is it screws up your sex drive, so they suggested wellbutrin which is how I ran into this video.
Super late but finally found a video I can relate to… but I’m on day 4 and have had the most intense panic attacks and anxiety attacks I’ve ever had. More emotional than ever before. Crying for no reason. Breaking down on the floor for no reason. The simplest tasks I was able to do a week ago make me beyond stressed today. What I’m running into is that it feels like the medicine kicks in around 4-5pm. I take the meds at 10am each day - trying to work it closer to the time I’m waking up. Is this kind of normal? To feel awful during the morning… panic and anxiety all morning, then feeling like it finally kicks in? Thanks.
Right now I’ve been on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg for about 2 weeks and a day, I also have an eating disorder and when I first started this medication like the fist 3-4 days my apitatie was so high I wanted to eat everything I was eating 3 meals with 2 snacks through out the day I was really fucking angry and I had one night that I didn’t sleep at all. My mood now 2 weeks in is actually okay not really sad or happy just eh also yesterday and today I noticed I don’t want to eat not because I am convincing my self it’s that I’m not hungry I also have severe headaches now which sucks, I also tried to have sex and I just didn’t want to it was like my body was shut down to sex it was so weird. I have severe constipation severe headaches and can’t hold food down properly.
No it's not a placebo. I take it too and it works really fast. I wish it would turn off my appetite. 🤔 But it has really normalized my mood which was the most important thing.
@@InsightofSamantha I just started taking this and so thank you for that. I have felt kinda out of it and more like a zombie but was told it would give me more energy... So glad to hear that feeling goes away.
Y’all, week one and my anxiety is through roof. Three days of worry about how my life ended up and crying. I was fine the first few days. After watching reviews this seems to be expected. Hope for the best🤞🏾
This is my 6th day of taking it and I’m experiencing similar reactions. First 3 days were awesome and I felt super happy. Then past 3 days of have been mood swings from angry, to sad crying and back to happy. Also dry mouth 😵
I’ve been taking it for 3 weeks now and my emotions and anxiety have been through the roof. I’m taking it for anxiety and I feel like it has amplified it 10 times more. I was contemplating on being switched to an ssri, but I know that all antidepressants take time to work, and so I’ve decided to continue taking them, even though I have many doubts🤞🏽
@@samt7440 yup. I switched off mine as well. I’ve had a couple panic attacks, and my psychiatrist deduced that it’s actually been causing me to go INTO hypo mania lol. I’m currently on lamotrigine.

The good thing for me was to quit all caffeine cold Turkey without getting migraine headaches. Definately can confirm better mental clarity and restlessness subside.
just wanted to mention, bupropion actually isn't a stimulant! it has stimulant-like effects. that is why people who have ADHD who cannot take stimulants like ritalin, are often prescribed it.
I was just about to comment this haha. I got put on wellbutrin becasue my stimulant medication made me loose so much weight. YAY FOR NONSTIMULANTS
The effects are different but I would definitely classify bupropion as a stimulant simply because it raises the same neurotransmitters that conventional stimulants raise.
i was gonna say
I was about to comment the same thing heh - Wellbutrin is a non-stimulant :D
Just started my first dose today. Thanks for your videos. They’ve definitely decreased my anxiety about taking it!

how did it turn out for you? im on my 3rd day today!
Good luck to all
Did you start with 75mg a day? I’m on day 2 150mg SR and feel nothing at all. No side effects nor mood changes …. Is this normal ?

OMG you mentioned your appetite getting more intense and I thought I was the only one who experienced that...
Same thing is happening to me but it's probably because I take my time to focus on food lol im a foodie

Are you still on it?
Wellbutrin is not a stimulant though. It is a safer alternative to amphetamines such as Adderall, Ritalin
abuse potential maybe, but Wellbutrin is black labeled meaning it can cause suicidal thoughts. Where Adderall's abuse potential comes from it being addictive cause its an amphetamine. Just food for thought.
It is a stimulant, technically. It blocks reuptake of epinephrine (adrenaline).
@@lila3240 its not a stimulant you need to educate yourself on it
I just got prescribed 2 days ago and haven't had the courage to go get the medication. I'm completely afraid. I keep looking at my prescription note and cry.
You won’t feel better if you don’t take it. You got this!! ❤️

Danielle Lee it’s funny because I have ADD and I’m on day 5 today and I’ve been able to focus and I’m feeling AMAZING!
Same thing for me
I went thru the same symptoms i feel everywhere dizzy n then like tremors im on day 5 rt now n not hungry
Thank you dearly Samantha for opening discussion about Wellbutrin and your experience taking it. That was very brave of you. Reading everyones experiences with the medication has help me immensely.
Dear Danielle
My experience the first time I tried getting on this medication was very similar to yours.

I'm just really worried about the appetite part cause I'm never hungry anyway...
I just started today also but like 2 hours ago, keep me posted!! 😁
I did have a mild headache and felt fidgety at first. I took one 150mg extended release at about 10:30 a.m. eastern. The weirdest thing is that it makes my mouth feel strange. But I finally became hungry and ate. Now I just feel focused on the computer/homework a bit more than normal.
Didn't get to sleeping till 2:30 this morning
Can’t win.
I just started it today. Wish me luck.

How long were you on the medication and was it hard to get off?

Hi was hoping you could share your experience?
YES UPDATE!
Definitely not for anxiety.
My doctor says otherwise, Chantell
Bupropion can indeed increase anxiety in certain individuals especially people who have caffeine or stimulant sensitivities. It floods the brain with dopamine and increases epinephrine production (Adrenaline). Adrenaline will increase your heart rate which in turn can cause anxiety or panic attacks. I’ve been taking Wellbutrin for 6 years. After a while you most likely will not get the anxious side affects anymore. Research the drug for yourselves and don’t take my word or a teenage girl on TH-cam’s word for it.
Just started taking it today. Felt very energetic, then I crashed for like 3 hours...

Very weird.
What time of day are you taking it? I'm on day one.
This is my first day taking the medication and I am hoping my body adjusts to it quick. Thank you for the video and experience.
Thank you so much for this. Im on Paxil now. and ive just been prescribed well burin to take along with the Paxil. I struggle a lot wit depression and anxiety and have trouble focusing so hopefully this will help more. This video definelty made me more comfortable.
I am on paxil as well, and my doctor prescribed wellbutrin xl 150 to me as well. How do u feel now?
Me too! How you guys doing?

My 1st day is today... Hopeful for a new start! Thank you for this video.
You got this!
Thank you so much for posting this and thank you to all the people commenting about their experiences. This really helps!! Thank you!!!!
I've anxiety and mid depression and just started this medicine wish me luck.
I just started taking it today! Wish me luck.
Anyone else experiencing extreme vertigo on Wellbutrin? Every evening it starts. Maybe I’m taking me PM pill late 😣
YES! My brain feels zappy and I get dizzy and it's hard to see
This video has helped me feel better about my side effects. Thank you :)
Edit: if you are quitting smoking talk about it with your doctor it's day three of no smoking and I have no cravings and the thought of smoking makes me sick now.
I’m on day 2 of buproprion 150 mg XL and feel nothing. Felt nothing yesterday too. Anyone else?
my doc gave me welbutrin for anxiety...and my anxiety is based on fear of rapid and irregular heart beats...so this prob a no go for me
Mine is the same as yours, it only lasts like that for about a week then it goes away!
@@InsightofSamantha a week of that would probably be too much for me...Id have to ween on it slowly to avoid that side effect, but it seems for most people welbutrin doesn't work that great for anxiety/panic attacks, but im glad you had success with it.
@G B so you recommend welbutrin for anxiety and panic attacks?
@G B no i haven't taken it. I tried lexapro 10mg awhile ago, i didn't think it was doing much so i weened off of it .. I might not have given it a fair chance.. I took it maybe for 3 or 4 months i believe.
Day 2 was the worst. Major panick and anxiety. I'm 3 weeks in and I dont feel the benefits. I'm more depressed, emotional easily angered. Basically all the things you dont want to feel. I have anxiety and panic disorder and I dont know if this is the medicine for me. I'm going to stick it out for the full month and pray it gets better. Good luck!
@G B today marks my 4th week and I feel a lot better. Yesterday I felt anxiety and panic but I had other things going on. I'm gonna give it another month and see how I feel.
@G B honestly I'm going to stop taking it after trying it for a month. I dont like how I feel. Brain foggy and forgetful. I have been self medicating before trying wellbutrin, so I am going to try clean eating and exercise. Hopefully I wont have withdrawal. I've only been taking 150 mg so I think I'll be good. Thank you for the advice!
I’m on it now for 20 days now and I’m feaking out at first I thought it was working then bam. I’m not feeling so hot 🥵
@@tannermedina2487 I stopped taking wellbutrin shortly after I posted this. I currently dont take any meds. Yoga and Wim Hof breathing has helped me and I have panic attacks only once in a blue instead of everyday. I wish you the best and hope you find what works for you♥️
@Mander thank you. I agree a good diet and exercise should increase the healing process. And a good nights rest :)
I'm on Day 3 of Wellbutrin and I feel kind of numb emotionally, but physically I feel dizzy and sleepy, like how I feel after taking a little too much melatonin. I have a slight headache as well.
Gonna be my first day on it tomorrow. Scared. Got off lexapro two weeks ago cause it was making me feel like how you explained what Wellbutrin is making you feel like. Hope that's not the case for me.
I’ve been taking Wellbutrin for almost three weeks until the 19th day of taking it, I’ve experienced an allergic reaction that included rashes, hives, and severe itchiness. Thankfully it was not life threatening but I am a bit sadden Wellbutrin was not meant for me.
i have been on 150mg welbutrin sr for 3 days and i have had no sleep and have the worst headaches its starting to make my depression n anxiety worse
Okay update us pls
Hope you keep getting better💕
hi there. thank you for sharing your story. our stories are very similar honestly. do you have an IG? maybe we can talk, i really need to talk to someone about it
Platinum Uterus Hey! Hope you’re doing okay. I’m not a big fan of social media, so I don’t use IG, but you can look me up on Facebook and talk to me by messenger. If it doesn’t work, let me know and I’ll give u my cell phone.

I’m on day 3 of Wellbutrin XL 150 mg. It makes my mouth dry so I’ve been drinking a lot more water. Other than that, I haven’t seen an increase in my mood but I’m hopeful.
How are you doing now?
Chris Smith I stopped taking it. My mood and temperament worsened :-(
@@lauragray2621 I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you get better. How long did you take it before stopping?

Any update? This video is old but I'm curious!
How is a main symptom of a anti-anxiety drug "increased anxiety"?
eugkra33 it didn’t increase mine
that happens at the start with all antidepressants lmao
I was prescribed Wellbutrin 300 mg for mdd.. it gave me energy my body couldn't keep up with like go go go cleaning, going for walks, bursts of excitement, headaches, crying spells, easily agitated, no hunger, but it did get me out of bed, didn't sleep 12 hours anymore, lower sex drive, constipation, but it got me out of my head (suicidal thoughts/dissociation), also heart palpitations tho I do drink a lot of coffee and not wanting to smoke as much.. So I think this is what I needed lol
May i ask when did the constipation stop and how did you deal with it? its really putting a toll on me
Amen!!
I hope you feel better each day and thank you so much for sharing
I have major depression disorder, anxiety and panic attacks. Ive been taking bupropion 150 mg for two weeks and i dont feel any better. But the doc said it takes 4 weeks to start working, so i have to keep going 😢
im really struggling with this, about a week in and my depression is back
Hey man! I’m on day 21 and yeah I feel like ass:/ Doc said push through to week 4. I rly hope I start feeling better.
Do you mind sharing the dosage you take - my doctor prescribed to me for medical weight loss but I am anxious taking a psychotropic medication.

I'm on day 4. I'm feeling better. Only side effect is the intense heart beat but i manage to sleep
i’ve been on this for two weeks and i’m constantly agitated, confused, light headed, my vision is blurred, and i can’t eat anything without feeling ill. wellbutrin just made me more depressed and i feel trapped, gonna try to get off it :(
The gym is the best way to help with depression. You feel more healthy overall, which makes you feel better. Also, the improvement in your looks helps you feel more confident and less depressed.
@@troyd4235 you have a point, i worked out for awhile and was steady with it. not sure what happened but i should probably try that again

I just made a 1 year update on my channel a couple of days ago if you want to check it out! 💛 best of luck to you!
I got changed from Effexor XL to Wellbutrion 150 XLabout a week ago. I am teary, my temper is back, sleep problems. Don't know if I will stick with it.
It takes two weeks to feel normal. I love it.
It takes awhile, I got bad short temper issuers when I first started then it faded.
I’ve been on it for two months and my crying and tearing this has grown exponentially. I’m on 100 mg a day. This crying stuff has almost taken control of my life. Everything I cry it flowers and their beauty too I cry because I’m scared that my life is passing by me and I don’t have enough to show for it. I mean I’m literally crying from A-to-Z and exhaust every day
Lavendergal I now remember crying over life events towards the beginning and I haven’t cried in years. But it goes away, at least in my case it did.
I was just given this and trazadone. Thinking about throwing these two in the trash now. Always felt like I had ADHD and some level of depression , but I don't think putting these in my body will improve my life . Scared of the side effects
Just got prescribed Wellbutrin - had to stop taking strattera bc it made my resting heartrate 160 😅😅
I just started taking this (04/09), but I couldn't get to week 2 (I stopped on 04/20).
I abruptly stopped taking it because I couldn't get to my homework. I just wanted to sleep or throw up. I'm so sad. 😢
You didn’t go long enough girl:/ I’m on week 3 and I feel like ass. Doc told me to push to week 4 to see how I feel. 4-6weeks is how long it takes for this stuff to work.

You and I are similar in what we feel even though I am on lexapro. The shit thing about lexapro is it screws up your sex drive, so they suggested wellbutrin which is how I ran into this video.
Did it help?

Thanks.
I was told if you have pre existing anxiety that wellbutrin can make the anxiety work.
