A couple of months ago I decided to purchase this same model sewing machine. I spent several months before then researching what machine I wanted -- realizing my existing machine just didn't have the necessary feed dog system or motor power to handle heavier fabrics well like denim, fleece, etc. Since I do both garment sewing and home decor, I knew a heavy duty model would be the best choice for me. Have had my existing machine over 40 yrs - A Singer 860 which is an electronic ( not computerized) model offering both stretch and utility stitches (12 in total) as well as a 2 step buttonhole -- a more deluxe sewing machine at the time!. I am quite pleased with how the new machine runs -- makes short work of fabrics with its beefier feed dogs and powerful motor. My main reason for choosing this particular model was because of the extension table that came with it. Didn't think it would fit into my existing sewing cabinet (but it did!) , so to use it on a table top or desk top, one would find the extension table very handy. I also like that it is easy to maintain for cleaning and oiling -- one must be careful when removing the plastic housing, but everything is quite accessible to complete the process and put back together. And it is completely mechanical allowing me to choose the kind of stitch I want at a glance and easily adjust them with the roller controls on the top. And if the day comes where my old machine gives up the ghost, I will have a replacement at hand! Thank you for sharing this so that others can see all that comes with this machine at a very affordable price.

I bought it online at Costco and it arrived on Monday. I had my kenmore for 18 years and it broke a few months ago.
A family member just got one from Costco, same model. Will you be doing a review afterall?
