A great machine. I have a few industrial machines like the latedt Siruba direct drive with speed selector. Kingstar 4 thread overlock direct drive industrial. But I use my Singer 4452 most of the time. So versatile. A lot of my garments are on lightweight fabrics and I need very precise stitches. Even alterations to denim - work fine on the 4452. Doing repairs also.
My 4452 is arriving tomorrow via Amazon. Yea - I'm a guy who's been using sewing machines since childhood. I was taught on a vintage Singer when I was about 11-years old. My wife and I consider a sewing machine a household necessity. I just recently had to trash a Walmart Brother machine (Spoiler alert: total junk!) So looking forward to using this home appliance for all our alterations, and crafts! Thank you for this introduction!
I am soooo happy that you made this video, I just got my Singer model 4452, after my other Singer ( I also believe from the 90s was giving me terrible problems breaking down every time I sewed and I feared starting a project) and I couldn't get the manual online to download, I even had a hard time finding the manual. Fortunately for me, I found your video which was the EXACT video I needed to start my machine! I have sewn all my life, 50 years, however each machine has its own personality, and you help me over the hump, hooray!

Glad for the link to the manual. I just got my machine yesterday and it was missing the manual. These videos are very helpful and I want to watch everything on the 4452 before I even use it. I know proper use and care is key to a long life. I inherited my mother's Singer Rocketeer 500A that she got in 1961 which I'm having serviced now. She never had a bit of trouble with it. I was just going to use it but I thought it would be a good idea to have a new model. Guess because it is a family heirloom, I'm nervous about messing it up because she was so particular about her machine, 😀
Singer has decided to "save the trees" and won't include manuals when you buy a new machine, so you have to find it online and print it yourself now 🫤🫤
That was an informative video and I have to remember those settings since I will be working with a variety of materials and don't want errors on the material.

Help!!!! So I am sewing appliqué using lite heat n bond. My thread keeps breaking & like getting gunked up, I clean it and re thread, what else can I do? The project I’m working looks crappy now having to go thru and un thread the mess

After waiting on hold for over an hour to speak with a representative I have zero confidence in Singer integrity. Sad to say Singer is not a customer service company (any more )..
Yep I hear you, got a brand new singer 4452 today and about every feature on it is out of time...I have older singers and they are bulletproof sewing machines 50 years later, but this garbage I bought today only sewed 8 inches or so and went out of time and the feed dogs quit advancing...junk,pure junk right outa of the box too!
LoL my singer 4452 is pure junk, got it today, the feed dogs are in the up position, and still won't pull fabric through even with the presser foot cranked down, the stitch length dial is off it's mark or out of time and the stich selector dial jams up at times too...man oh Mani was so in tune to get the 4452 and it's turned into a major disappointment! It's not like I'm new to this monkey show I've been sewing on a 15-1 singer and an industrial 111w155 without a problem but the 4452 I got is a piece of junk right out of the box! I'm just hoping I can return this junk back to Michaels tomorrow and get my money back and move on past singer...it's a shame too singer use to be such a great brand now it's just another Chinese garbage product
nope, i continued to play around with it trying to get it too sew, then when I finally gave up on it singer said it was past its 90 day warranty/ I found an all metal Kenmore with the sewing cabinet for 100 bucks from the 1970s with a lot of the similar features and it works fine. A friend of mine got a singer 201...top of the line singer for its time, wanted to get some more bobbins ( class 66) and went to joanns, got a 4 pack of bobbins, , all 4 were literally to big to fit into the bobbin case....looked on the package they came in...yep, chinese garbage. singer no longer makes a thing! They farm everything out to china....you might have a winner, mine ended up in the trash can

I had called singer beforehand to order a machine that will do the function needle up needle down.They said the 4452 will do this.I don't see how?

The lighter you press on the peddle the slower it will go the harder you press the faster it will go! hope this helps!
