    Wow the velocity of the Critical Defense from your G27 was surprising. Both performed as intended. Thanks for the 40 S&W test.

    It's almost like, the Critical Defense is better for defense, and the Critical Duty is better for duty. 😂

    Good test as always. Excellent footage. I really like the Critical defense. Carried it for a few years after testing them. I got 1160s out of 4.25". Very impressive accuracy and 100% reliability in my smallish sample. They always expand big & beautiful in 3.5" & 4.25". Duty is a good reliable bullet also but smaller expansion. Look forward to full size with these. Thanks a bundle.

    Before I retired from the police department I worked at, I scored half a case of the 175grn Critical Duty since that was the round that we used in our issue Glocks. I found that the round fed perfectly in a Glock however the SIG P-229 that I now carry hated it. I would get consistent FTF malfunctions to the point that the ammo is now sitting in my ammo closet gathering dust. I understand that it is a good round but I just don't trust it in my SIG's. As usual, excellent content, Az.

      That sucks it doesn't feed right in ur sig. Ur right though good ammo for sure. I will be testing out of the full size beretta 96fs soon. Should be a fun one. Thanks as always my friend. Appreciate ya!!

    I bought the 27 and also carry these critical defense ammo after watching ur jugs videos. Its great seeing them perform in gel. Gonna upgrade the barrel soon becuz i wanna shoot underwood's 135gr @588 ft lb and 155gr @582 ft lb. Great video as usual! Much thanks!

      Both those 135s and 155s have bad penetration, these 165s are your best bet for a general purpose round, I also carry a Glock 23, and just changed out my 155s for these because it only gave me 11 inches penetration.

    I had some Critical Defense that had two hang ups on the feed ramp of my Glock. The rubber insert prevented it from going up the feed ramp. I’ve heard a few other incidents just like that. I guess out of spec, maybe? Check your ammo carefully. Great videos my friend.

    I went with critcal duty for my old school 1993 smith wesson 915. Its a metal frame auto. Kind of a 1911'ish hybrid gun. Holds 15 rounds and shoots like a dream! Smooth as butter. I like its feel better than the plastic guns. Not knocking them by any means...the old metal smith just feels better in my hands is all.

  • @ericstites9470

    I love the punch that the Defense round delivers. I don't, however, love the fact that they don't feed reliably in my M&P. It's due to that cone-shaped bullet going into the breech at a sharper angle, and the chamber - while perfectly fine for most any other round - is not quite smooth enough to easily receive the round. A simple polish job should be the fix I need to carry these without any worries.
    I won't spoil your future video with a duty-length pistol, but expect massive expansion - I fired one through my 5" M&P at a line of water jugs, and the first jug exploded. Second one was ripped apart, and the bullet stopped in the third one. Again, massive expansion with quick energy dump!

      Very cool. I did a full size test a while back when I was using the jugs test and it did really well. Should be a fun one in the gel though. Thanks for checkin this one out. Appreciate ya!!

      I have these in my mnp and loading them out of a brand new gun would cause it to hang up right on the top of the round nosing up. I fed a few more and ran like 15 rounds at the range and it functioned pretty well. New mnp is a 3.6 inch and the old one is a gen 1 4.25 (used) and they've both been flawless. Both had barrels polished from factory.

    • @ericstites9470
      @ericstites9470 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ballsack8937 the one I have definitely wasn't polished - not in the chamber for sure. It'll feed any other ammo just fine, but it scuffs and scratches spent cases on their way out. Nothing a dremel tool and a stick of jewelers rouge can't fix.

    Fun test, we tested the critical duty when it first came out. The critical duty is made for better barrier performance. It did amazing against windshields and car doors, even against dry wall and plywood. I've never carried either for EDC, but the critical defense expanded very nice. But as you know, I'm a big velocity guy, I lovethe underwood 150gr nosler projectile, has like 580 foot pounds of energy and expands reliable. Thanks for the video, love to see different rounds and a variety of handguns used. Wishing you and your family a wonderful day.

    If you’re in New Jersey these might be the best rounds you can use. They can’t have hollow points in New Jersey for some reason 🤷‍♂️
    Feel free to research for yourself… don’t take my word
