Not “stage” but “phase”. “Stage” is for cancer. Menopause is not an illness.

As a non native English speaker I found this explanation so helpful. I would never know this as I never learned the difference between stage and phase , make sense. In my language we don’t have word for stage. We call it Level ( level 1, level 2 or phase ( for cancer)…. Need to dig this a little bit deeper, languages are so fascinating. Thanks!

When I turned 46 EXTREME fatigue, loss of sleep, brain fog, loss of memory, itchy ears, itchy upper back, headaches and HELLA joint pain and muscle pain hit me like a brick to the face and I dismissed all of that. 😳💩👎🏻
Now that I turned 47 on 06/2024, I got hit with night sweats, hot flashes, irregular periods (have missed 3 periods), more loss of sleep, a 3-4 lb eight increase doing the exact same thing, hair thinning and hair breakage and hair texture change. My gorgeous long hair down to my waste got dry and coarse sometimes wirey and the hair underneath got curly and broke off it looks crazy. Basically WTF is happening, now I know I entered menopause at age 46.
Women totally get disregarded and told it’s all in their head and the world makes you feel like you have been discarded even though I stay cute and of desirable weight and active. Man, it’s such a sucky horrible feeling like getting the rug pulled from right under your feet. 😢

I just had a full hysterectomy 😢 I don’t qualify for hormone replacement therapy. I do not know how we are supposed to deal with it!!! Omg. I wanna kill everything lol! Hot flashes everyday 20x a day. UGH!!!

Who said you don't qualify? You most certainly do qualify.. you must be going through hell. I'm so sorry. Please see another healthcare provider who specialises in menopause. ❤

I also think you should get another opinion on HRT.
I'm a research scientist and just went through menopause a few years ago.
Went through the research journals and found much of the evidence for not taking HRT deeply flawed but many doctors don't know this since there was so much hype in the news.
The WHI study should never have been published.. it was that flawed.
So please get a second opinion.
      Best luck to you!

I’m so sorry to hear! I’m premenopausal at 42 and my menstrual cramps are deadly due to fibrosis. My periods are light and short but the cramps put me down for a few days.

I wonder what it means to become more regular! I’ve lived my life with about 3-4 periods a year (light, lasts a day or two). Now at 48 I have a period once a month for about 3 days🙄. Was hoping I was going to start menopause soon!

Natural vs unnatural is a vitally important distinction to make.
If you went into menopause from medical intervention, drugs or surgery, it’s unnatural. Why is that a problem to say?
