Just a quick note to say your video helped me adjust my freezer drawer. Imagine that ...4 years after posting and you're still helping others!! So cool!! And thanks!!
Thanks for this great tutorial. This was exactly my problem. I had a feeling it was the rails but wasn't sure how to take it all apart. Same model, same side, everything. Took a bit more playing around with the rails, but did the trick! Donate if Scott helped you out!
3 years later and this was the first and only video I watched to fix my non-sealing Freezer door on my Samsung unit. Thanks for the quick and easy to follow video
My Samsung is doing this and I'm about ready to buy a new fridge but will try this first. I finally just taped the freezer shut for the night so it doesn't entirely freeze over. Ughhh
TH-cam is a wonderful thing. This was exactly my problem and 10 mns later I felt better knowing I didn't have to buy a new fridge or any parts. Thanks so much, you saved us a service call!
Thanks for the tutorial. Tried using GE’s tutorial to fix the same issue on another model. Their adjustments didn’t work but this worked immediately and probably saved me hours of tinkering and possibly a service call.
I developed an air leak on the freezer door. I was about to order a $149.00 gasket. I ten found this video. It was spot on. Easy peasy. Took 20 min but got it done. THANKS
Brooo, thanks. My dad and I spent 2 hours trying to see what was wrong with the freezer door until we gave up. But I wasn't gonna let some door beat me so I googled it and that brought me to your vid. We went back and fix it in 10 mins. Again, thanks.
Thank you! My husband and I found out there was a loose screw in the back side brackets. The screw was blocking the sliders from aligning.Once we tightened it everything closed perfectly!

Scott you saved the day! My wife had been yelling at me to get a new refrigerator because the freezer wasn't working. Now I don't have to. It was fixed in 5 minutes. I just sent $25 your way. Thank you so much for your help!
Thank you, Scott! This worked like a charm! The toughest part was getting tabs to let go on the top drawer. My model is slightly different than the one you demonstrate on.) After that, it was smooth sailing. Total time, 50 minutes! I sent $50 your way on PayPal.
Excellent video. Before attempting to reset the rails, check the rail mounting screws first to see if they are loose. A loose mounting screw was blocking the rails 1/2 in. from the end of the track on our bottom drawer freezer. Thanks again
My Maytag French door refrigerator has been "jingling" off and on for over six months. I had two repairmen out here to fix it and neither one knew what to do. They wanted to start replacing parts, starting with the main electronic control board. Both recommended not to waste my money cuz it could mean replacing more parts and still not know what is wrong with it. They suggested buying a new one, it is 8 yrs old but i felt like it should last longer than that. I did order a refurbished board from EBay and replaced the old one but it continuted to jingle, so i did a little more research and came upon this page. I really didn't think it could be something as simple as cleaning the seal around the door, especially since it didn't seem dirty in the first place but i did just that. It's been close to 24 hours now and it hasn't jingled or chimed and it's back to making ice. Before it wouldn't get below 20 degrees so it wasn't making ice either. I pray that this little fix solved my problem. It cost me almost $300 for those two guys to do a service call and they did nothing. Thank you so much for posting this video.
Thank you!! I watched several different trouble shooting videos and yours was the one that worked. Feeling very accomplished in fixing it myself and am very thankful for your help!
Very helpful video - knowing what to do in what order makes this job SO much easier. I used a screwdriver on the main slide tabs too, and just pulled out on the drawer to move the slides. Thanks!
Saved me so much time in fixing this. didn't even bother taking out the top drawer just popped the rail clips slide the drawer out and pushed it back in evenly
The freezer was previously building up a great deal of ice as the right side lacked 1/2” inch closing all the way. Once the upper drawers and bottom tub are removed, you can press on those side tabs in the tracks and the entire door/tracks will slide forward and out. My right hand plastic gear was not meshed on the corresponding gear on the other side. My friend just had some movers take the refrigerator apart to move it through the home’s front door. They just did not pay attention when they reassembled it at the new house. Good video!
Man I am having this same issue - just picked up a fridge for a decent price and the right side freezer is not sealing well - the right side plastic gear is further back than the left side which i am assuming is my problem but i can't get them rails to move once i press the plastic tabs any quick tips @QuickAndeasy5MinuteAppliance?
Those rails are very difficult to pull loose. Both side tabs have to be depressed at the same time to get the rails out of a bind best I remember! Hope it works for you!
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance Thanks for this video - I had to unscrew the 2 small screws behind the tabs and the rail pulled out with ease and was able to fix my freezer door shutting 💯💯💯
Appreciate the insight. I have an LG. couldn't figure out why it was freezing up. I found the top basket was misaligned. Lifted it and gave it a little nudge. Problem solved Much appreciated.
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance Thanks, Scott! The person I am renting from thinks that this is the case and since I'm on vacation (LOL if you consider leaving home in Hawaii and coming to Ohio vacation), this is exactly what they said they would check out while I was gone, so good to get your confirmation that that's a likely cause. I appreciate it.
This just helped me today. Quick fix! Question for you though....We had a bunch of frost build up on food and overall inside. Now that its fixed will it disappear?
Great video. Had same problem not sealing properly on one side. Issue was a screw on the track was not fully screwed in and prevented to door to fully closed.
Realize this is an old video...but just wanted to say THANKS! came here looking for a solution to this issue and the first step to reset the rollers fixed ourt issue.
Glad I waited to the end where you say “it could just be a bag of peas” 😂. It was 2 ice packs for my kids lunch bags blocking it from closing properly. Thank you! 😅
This is awesome! I have an old Kenmore fridge with the same mechanism that I've been chasing my landlord for over a month to send someone to fix. Your video helped me fix it in 20 minutes. Thanks a million!

The TRICK is: To have the left AND right geared wheels of the door,.. engage the toothed rail of the freezer properly. If you get them engaged evenly and your door is still a 1/4 crooked,. go ahead and engage one gear a tooth ahead of the other side. For some reason, my left gear needs to be one tooth ahead of the right side for the door to land flat. But now it is perfect! Thanks.
That was it! Thanks a lot! I was trying to figure out why adjusting the railing wasn't working then I saw your comment and noticed the gear wasn't getting on the rail at the same time as the other. After guiding them in it worked!
Thanks for posting this video. It didn't make any sense that suddenly our bottom freezer on our Kenmore elite started leaking air. After watching your video I messed around with it a little bit and finally I just opened the door all the way and then pulled on each side outward and it seemed that there is a loose screw so that ended up actually realigning the right side which was causing a leak on the left side. Thank you for posting
Thanks Scott had done it once before, but needed that little refresher! After I had all the food out and the lower basket out, it occurred to me that I may not have to remove the screws or the upper basket. With the upper basket pulled forward, I was able to reach behind it with a screwdriver and press the slide rail release tabs on each side. I was able to pull the slides out about 6" and then reset them as you showed in the video. So far, that short cut looks to be working :) Thanks again for your video. PS - when I was done, I wrapped some duct tape sticky side out around each end of the handle to remind everyone to only pull the drawer open from the center!!

I had the same problem with my freezer door not closing tight. After taking the door off the freezer I was able to see that a screw that held the track in the freezer had a screw that was sticking out enough to not let the track go all the way in therefore not letting the door close all the way.
