    Enough anxiety over a long period of time can tip over in to a horrible depression simply because it’s exhausting to live under constant worry, that will lower mood

      Absolutely and especially if we don't understand anxiety or how we have ended up in the anxiety state

    You are so right about and anxiety and depression going together. I love how you say it is not serious. Just those words make it feel not scary.

    Just discovered and subscribed to your channel as I'm currently in a pretty severe sensitized state with the depression/exhaustion as well. I look for people who have been there too and know/ use Claire Weeks work. Thank you

      After some progress I'm getting back into anxiety depression and alarming strong self pity as a result of a loved one being seriously ill. Please advise how I can cope with this new and real stressor. 😢

    I am suff with depression and anxiety since 3 years. No medication helps longterm. I have tension headaches and can’t feel my laughter or emotions. What should I do? After 3 years? Is recovery possible? I barely sleep.

    Wow this was a absolutely awesome explanation 🙏💕 ive been watching your videos on anxiety, which is something i do more than "depressiveness ",but that been said ive noticed alot of these troughs lately, that you are discussing 🙏 thankyou for helping makesm sense of this . Sam can i ask your opinion with this work, about positive visualization and embidying past experiences of feelings of feeling good/happy/calm and bringing that into the now (brain retraining ) -is this useful or in doing ths is it "not allowing " or "forcing" a state change? Ive done a brain retraining course which teaches this type of thing. Thankyou sooo much for any advice 👌🙏💕

    • @openchangeau
      @openchangeau  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Glad you are enjoying the videos. Positive visualisation and trying to embody warm emotions & positive feelings is great - I recommend doing it without expectation and if anxious thoughts arise as you do it, allow them to surface and don't try to mask any anxiety symptoms or difficult thoughts with positivity.

    Dear Samuel Eddy, can i use the floating technique for processing emtoions like rage, grief or sadness? In other words, is the floating technique a universal way to process emotions? Or we have to use different behaviors for processing different emotions?

    • @openchangeau
      @openchangeau  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Absolutely! Floating allows for emotions to arise and process through our system without trying to shut them down or get overwhelmed by them. Very useful for grief and anger.

    Hey Samuel I’ve been agoraphobic since 2009 but since 2022 I’ve been in a severe anxiety cycle with 24/7 symptoms. SSRIs didn’t work for me, benzos work but I stopped taking them cause i didn’t want to be dependent. Is there any way we can talk in private? Thank you

    Thankyou Sam Really helpful explanation of why anxiety can make you feel so depleted and how accepting/allowing is key. Do you have any advice on how to teach the brain to accept the anxiety symptoms in the moment without accepting that these symptoms are here permanently? Sometimes when I allow the symptoms, it feels like I’m giving up on recovery. Hope this makes sense

    • @RickGarrett

      This resonates with me….experiencing the same thing.

    • @ChristinaAukema-lg8po
      @ChristinaAukema-lg8po 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah...I hear you, too! My biggest what if that gets me every time is that because it has been taking so long it must be permanent and therefore difficult to accept and not try to feel better. Fuels the depression.

    • @openchangeau
      @openchangeau  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Great question - by allowing & accepting you are removing the lid on the anxiety pressure cooker and desensitising your nervous system. As you float through symptoms, that IS teaching the brain that these symptoms are unpleasant but not dangerous. Therefore with practice and time, the body will reduce the frequency and intensity of anxiety which is how you recover. Try this practice to accept and allow: th-cam.com/users/liveHxw4R5Ty9_U?si=7oWHaa3ut1R8axjL
