That’s awesome. I was taught my by grandmother when I was around that age or a little younger. I’ll be 50 next year and started crocheting again a few years ago, maybe a couple of years or so before covid started. I’m so grateful for TH-cam, it’s full of so many great tutorials. Thankfully I was stocked up on yarn during covid 😂
I have been trying to get this stitch for days. Then I remembered how much you helped me with your bobble/popcorn/puff stitch video and found this one 😍 thank you so much, you explain at a soothing tone and rythm, making sure to really explain the moves of the stitch. You're a great teacher ❤
I have every kind of hook. But. The one you are using in this tutorial has ended up becoming my absolute favorite. Of all time. This coming from a die hard Furls Odyssey girl. Who has every size. It’s the Susan Bates with comfort handles. ❤❤❤
YES this is the project that spoke to me the most and im so happy you have a video for it! this is the first time using chonky yarn, my new chonky furls hook, and im nervous about it lol!
Such a nice pattern! I'm thinking of trying to make a pattern for a sweater with this texture. I don't want a very thick sweater but maybe if i change the hooksize up an extra 3-4 mm that i can make this work. I've never made any bigger pattern for clothes, and I don't quite understand how to think with the swatches for pattern to measure and calculate how many rows and chains etc. Might take a while to do this!
@@Personophe48 You’re welcome, it’s an expensive Afghan but looks like it’s worth it. Lion brand has the kit with what ever colors you want and it’s basically same price as individual yarns here in Canada. Probably a lot cheaper in the States. P.S. if you ever miss beginning again you can rewind by moving the red line back to beginning.
Nice looking blanket, however, I do not like doing chainless foundation rows. Providing a multiple of a chain and where to place the first sc would have been helpful for those who don’t like chainless foundation rows. Fortunately there are quite a few waffle stitch blanket tutorials not using the FSC method to follow.
Thank you for this! Im a 12 yo crocheter and ur videos inspire me so much!❤
Way to go!! Picking up crochet at a young age is a great thing to do and a wonderful skill to have. Kudos!
That’s awesome. My mom taught me when I was a child. I’m in my 50s now and still get a lot of joy out of it!

This will be a perfect Xmas gift for my mother. She's been wanting a blanket/throw.
Waffle weave is one of my favourite stitches
Gorgeous!!! I loved making this pattern and would be so grateful if you ever made a video of you steam blocking a big blanket.

Will try making this❤
Lovely ❤❤
Could you use Apricity yarn with this pattern?
I would not recommend it. Apricity is a bit delicate for the size and texture of this project.
how much yarn did you need for the whole blanket?
I missed the beginning! What yarn is she using?
Lion brand Hue &Me. Number 5 Need 11 balls.
@@Donna2177 thank you!
