Awesome dial and handset design! I especially love the airplane seconds hand. GMT hand looks great on this dial color too…just pops at the tip. The Long Island labeling on the World Timer bezel is definitely a nice touch.

I just recently hopped on the Islander train and loving what they are doing! Best value for the price point and you get all the upgrades for less than a Seiko! On top of that they regulate their movement so you get great accuracy and precision. My melville is running +1 to -1 sec a day for the past week! Just ordered the ISL-18 and looking at what to buy for the third one!

I recently got the « Brookville » Hi-Beat (blue dial) and love it. It’s a classic look for every day wear (work, home and play).
This one (I kid you not) is running exactly like yours (+1 to -1). Love that they regulate their movements and LIW customer support is second to none 🙂👍🏼

Marc knocked it out of the park with this one...Love the "Long Island" instead of New York on the bezel too.
Great watch tough as nails I lost mine recently diving at the 1000 level I found it respectfully in excellent condition , water tight and working it stunned me to know end that it was ticking away an amazing watch !👍👌🥂

Top notch Sir, really love this one, love the bezel specially with long island instead of New York.
In Marc channel he stated that there will be another one with a different type movement, my thing I want it thinner. None the less I don't know which color to get.

As for the colour, the green one looks good to me but I appreciate the black dial b/c it’s more “standard” i.e. it goes well with everything I wear.

@@timetowatch_francois my pleasure Sir, Indeed the black one is the one to get, but I have the the flight master sna411, to be honest as you pointed out the green one is nice its not your typical green, there is something about it that draws you in.
I have bought a couple of watches from Marc but don't own an Islander yet.
Which one would you recommend since you have so many?
Also rare that Marc sent you a watch I have seen other reviewers who do not get sent Islanders for review (i.e. JOMW).
You are absolutely right; It is a true honour to have Marc send me this watch.
I am part of his text notifications and got a glimpse of this watch and, I simply reached out to see if he would, once again, lend me a watch for review ahead of the official launch … a simple post-it note in the box indicated that he appreciates all the support for all these years and then added « keep it! » …
Note that, if you look closer at my playlists, I have many Islander watches and I interact with him and his team on a regular basis. In total, I bought 12 Islander watches so this brings me to your first question: which one do I suggest. This is very personal to your tastes but if I had to suggest a couple, I would go with either this « Calabro » (black or green dial) b/c of its versatility and solid build (sapphire and 200 m WR on top of its utility) or, any of the « Brookville » high-beat watches … but I would personally choose the ISL-38 version with the versatility of the blue dial. It fits with everything you would wear and is a good daily watch but can also look good in formal occasions.
