After seeing that second one, that was just utterly disgusting. That most definitely was not family-friendly, and the father himself is just…uerghhhh.

Yeah, it is the truth. Some people are really just like that, in fact I feel in any situations conclusions aren't really the answer for those people. They want an endless war. Which is why the term "hold your breath" is so commonly used when in these situations. If anything I feel a little offended that people think these kinds of people don't exist.
I was thinking the same thing. For me its my biological mother & two of my four sisters. I had to move out of that situation two years ago when I was 20; I did so asap and it took two years. I've been living in shelters since then & have recently started to reconnect with one of my sisters (one of the non-abusive sisters) and two of my cousins. I've been anxious about telling anyone the full details of what I went through since I wasn't believed by most growing up, though I've had years of therapy & I know it's not on me if anyone responds like that. Thankfully I am most likely getting into supportive housing soon.
I can see what Rebal meant because the acting & writing in these videos (generally speaking at least) are abysmal to the point of being laughable, but I will say that the part about the mother in law going missing at the end is actually what properly sends the message. Abusers don't change and you can't wait around for them to do so; its not your fault regardless, but you need to get out or else it will kill you. I speak from experience. Being in and out of the hospital isn't normal when you're in your 20s and don't have some sort of illness. If someone is really your "family" or loved one, they wouldn't intentionally hurt you in such an inhumane cycle.
