The process is simple:
➡Make sure you have the TrueDepth Camera error when you try to setup Face ID.
➡Connect the A108 to the PC
➡Connect the Dot Projector (aka TrueDepth Camera) to the A108
➡Click TEST, if you get IC Fuse error, then this solution will work for you
➡Connect the iPhone to the PC
➡Then make sure to CLOUD BACKUP. Very important to do this step before anything else.
➡Then make sure to have the external power block to the Module
➡And click “Acti” (aka Activate). This will inject voltage into the mosfet & blow it. This is required so it can allow the Tag On flex cable to work
➡Plug in the Tag On flex
➡Click “CLOUD BURN”
➡Then plug in the Tag On Flex to the original Dot Projector Flex
➡Then plug that into the A108 and click TEST
➡If everything comes back normal, then it’s fixed!

I have the ay as well and the tag on flex is a nightmare. Did my first one and can’t get the dot projector perfectly align properly because the tag on flex is in the way. 12 pro max flex is so long!
Also do you know anywhere to buy these tags locally? Also, do you know anything about 13 and 14? I don’t see flexes for those. Thinking of buying ig or ms options….

Not sure how to properly test without opening the phone. As a repair technician, opening the phone and taking out the front camera assembly should be no problem for you.

hi i'm struggling with that. I have 2 questions : do you think the little flex addin can be used twice ? on 2 different front cam modules ? Second question : I have a module that is all green when plugged on the A108 without the addin. I perform the procedure well it seems but it doesn't solve the face id problem.
It was said in the video that if everting is normal then maybe it board issues this only works if NTC AND I2C are normal

In this case you had the ic fuse, so it’s possible to fix it just with the flex.
When we have ntc break, i2c break etc is it possible to fix it by changing flex ?

You would need a new activation board for it.
Does this method help if the iphone is stuck in the "move lower/higher" face ID setup? Or just the "problem detected with TrueDepth camera" error?

Hi, great video! I have the exact same problem you had in the first place but can't seem to get the module aligned properly, and I'm sure the flex is seated properly in on the logic board. It worked in the first instance for a week or so then I dropped the phone and saw a different message in settings, so I opened it up and the flex had disconnected. message gone in settings now but same issue you initially had. Any advice greatly appreciated

How can we tell if this is the issue with Face ID? On my iPhone 12, Face ID is disabled (as shown in the video) and when trying to take a Portrait Mode selfie, it keeps saying "Move farther away." Is this likely an issue with that part? Is it likely repairable through this method?
If you get the same error I show in the begging about the true depth camera has failed, this method should work, assuming there are no other issues

I would say there's no 1 perfect tool. It's part of being a phone repair tech. Have to buy different tools for the different jobs.

First! Hope this will fix my iPhone X that I retired due to the Face ID no longer working. Had it sent off to have the dot projector replaced by a board repair service. They got it working but told me if it ever stopped working again it couldn’t be fixed.
If the dot projector was modified previously, I don't think this solution will work

hello, my iphone 12 pro max i think got water into it, and now the truedepth is not working and my phone is very dim, cannot change brightness. will A108 and replacement piece fix it?
Brightness issue is due to problem with ALS.
AY tool will not fix that
It will only fix the TrueDepth camera failure
Tried the process but it did the same issue as what you had on the video where after I placed the tag on flex it shows "move higher or lower". Tried taking it out and double check it passed the test but still same issue. What resolution you did to fix that issue? Thanks

So i recently bought a used iphone 11 pro 64gb from a local off marketplace for $30, screen needed to be replaced (black screen) and it was supposedly stuck in recovery mode, however i was able to restore the phone which is unlocked with no activation lock, I replaced the screen successfully with a generic one off Amazon, to find out the face ID has a detected issue during setup. So I immediately thought the issue was the actual face ID sensors that mount to the back of display. In part I believe that sensor did need to be replaced as I noticed that the phone was getting hot when the face ID flex cable was connected, I disconnected that flex cable and the phone was no longer getting hot; I ordered a generic replacement face ID sensor assembly off Amazon last night and installed today to find out that the issue wasn't just that sensor for the back of display, but I believe the true depth camera you are dealing with in this video. Also I don't know if it matters but i never reassembled the phone as I don't want to have to lift the screen from the casing. How expensive of a fix you think it would be at a local repair shop?
It would depend. If you replaced the true depth camera or it's not original, then there's no way to repair Face ID
Pricing would range between $100-200 i would suppose

Yeah I’m not sure whether it’s the genuine apple true depth sensor that’s in there or not.. the phone’s exterior appearance seems like it’s in great condition. But when I got around to disassembly I noticed one of the two screws on the bottom by speaker ports was missing.. I noticed some brackets and screws that were for securing the display’s flex cables into place as well as the battery flex cable cover plate were missing after opening it up.. luckily I was able to find a whole internal hardware set for the phone on Amazon for $5. But yeah is there a stamp/logo I can look for on the true depth camera sensor? I snapped the phone back together in the event the metal contact from the Face ID sensor on back of display needed to make with that of the True depth camera system’s metal bracket or something to get reenabled. No such luck tho 😞

okey i found the problem, this AYrepair software works only for me on windows 11, before i install it on windows 10 and it did not work complete ... now i have another problem : i did all the steps you show us till to test after connecting the flex cable together with the dot projector (glas) and it give me a error result with "luminescence abnormal" 😩

Make sure to update the software.
If you still get that, then the issue is something else within the dot projector

When I look closer in the tag one flex I see a little dent or mark aground the middle I am thinking I broke the flex when I was assembling the flex now if I get another flex what will I do will I repeat the whole step again and if that A B abnormal occurs then I will have to do micro soldiering or the Face ID is done

Yes. It limits how many times you can activate based on the device. Every new device will give you new activations. You dont need to buy any credits

If everything else is original, then the ear speaker flex can be repaired.
It will require microsoldering to fix it and bring back face ID
