- Welcome to Touring and Trails. You can get out and camp on the cheap but do your homework before bringing home a project camper. Need to cover the basics before hitting the road. Is the frame in good shape and free from rot? Are the tires, wheels, and hubs in good condition? Are the windows intact? Are the seams in good condition and not pulling apart? Does it leak? Is the electrical safe? Does the propane leak? Just a few of the many items to check out. Consider a professional to look over if you are not familiar with the mechanicals. Please subscribe, give us a thumbs up, drop in a comment about your experiences, and continue to watch our videos.

Thanks for sharing. Yes good advice. I would add; please have an affordable place to keep the camper. Safe Travels.
That's a very good point. Especially with crazy Texas weather. Thanks D&M!
I had one almost identical to yours.
It was a 1965 built in Indiana.
It became too dangerous to tow.
Sold it for $50.
Rubberized undercoat in a spray can works great for roof leaks.
Never thought about that for leaks. Appreciate the tip
I was just wondering if your stove worked in that old trailer. Im like you I don't freak out about things falling apart, it's going to happen just roll with it. Thanks for sharing Jim
We got it working. Enjoying the simplicity!
