Very happy to hear that some of the blocks will be conserved for future generations' viewings & education. I was there back in 2012 when there were still pockets of people living in some of those apartments and again a few times in 2015 - 2016 when all of the residents have moved. Both of which were for shooting purposes. Just hope I would be able to share them somewhere in 20-30 years' time as SG develops further. As for ideas on rejuvenating the place, I would like to see something similar to what they have done in Tanglin Halt, Queenstown, The green corridor, etc. where they set up mini heritage trails, a museum to showcase what it was like back then, and even repurpose the place like the Green corridor into a walkable trail for trekkers while still retaining the old rustic look.
Stackedhome videos evokes a certain warmth from genuine home owners home owners, it always feels so relatable and happy for the owners. Miles apart from other local property videos. Stacked homes shares the feelings and emotions that goes into the HOME. Well, as for the rest, they are merely reviewing houses. Appreciate all your good work Stackedhomes!
Wow thank you so much for your kind words. We're so happy you feel this way about our videos! We hope to continue providing you with more content like this 🙌
Such a comprehensive and informational tour. Loved how Reuben did the intro around the Dakota estate, I'm sure the residents there really appreciated it as well! Good job Stacked!
Hey guys, been following this channel for a while and I really like the history lesson and contextual knowledge about the land. Would be interesting to cover more of this kind of content! Looking forward to more stuff
Love your stuff guys, Ruben is a great host too and a natural on camera - really authentic and very genuine vibes. I like that it doesn’t feel scripted (like so many other damn property video channels) and he’s got such a great knowledge base as well. Like the little nugget about the landed home owners who refuse to sell their home 😂🥲 thanks you guys for featuring such an awesome neighbourhood!
Appreciate the ‘heritage tour’ tied into this video, it gives the home tour more soul :) well done. Also enjoyed the last reference to UP and the house that refused to sell, how interesting!
Not gonna lie, Reuben definitely has his own distinct style and vibe going on. His voice and tone balances out so well and one can go through the entire video just listening and soaking up the information with little to no drama or distractions. He also does collabs with Aiken Chia, btw ☺️👍
Interesting! The fact that he also elaborated on the local acronyms organisation certainly help us better understand what it meant. Great content here and loving this channel!
Yo Reuben! No wonder you looked so familiar! Glad to see a friend from PHS on a youtube video! Solid voice and commentary ever since army days. Keep up the good work bro! -Lucas Lee From PHS
Enjoyed the video. As i am really ignorant in the area of video recording, could you please explain why you chose to use the smaller camera when you were filming outside and then switched to the bigger camera when you went indoors? Would the effect be very different? (I noticed Ghib Ojisan use a big camera indoors and outdoors)
Likely because it's darker indoors and the bigger DSLR will do much better in low light conditions. On the outside there's ample sunlight so the difference between a small/light Go Pro and big/bulky DSLR is less noticeable
Thank you Leonard! Oh yes you've raised a great question! The bomb shelter is still on the ground floor, so units here don't need a structural bomb shelter. As such, while there's a "store" in the floor plan layout highlighted in the video, it doesn't have structural walls and so can be hacked away which is what Jerrold did here 🙌
Should leave one as a community startup incubator, holiday chalet, short term rental, a vertical horticultural/aquaponics lab, the possiblities are endless...
Hey! There's been no resale transactions in the past 6 months. There are only 83 3-room flats here, and there's 1 listing that's advertised for $560,000.
Hey there! We wish we could get access into it, but it was cordoned off. we only intended to showcase what the old Dakota Crescent looks like, but the new 3-room flats that residents from the old site were offered.
@@StackedHomes Nevertheless, the title somehow does not fit the video. The new unit is even overhauled with walls removed, it just seems to be an ID show.
I like the video, I like the content but maybe show us more shots of the surroundings and the flats instead of constantly featuring shots of yourself and as if thats not enough, you have more shots of yourself filming yourself. Just abit of my opinion… no offence intended.
Hi quartzcookie, thanks for sharing your feedback with us. We've decided to have 2 cameras as the first cam allows the audience to easily see what the host is referring to as well as to show a more personal POV, while second cam is allows the audience to see the space the host is within 👌 We think it could be important for those who need a greater awareness of the space the host is in especially since it is a real estate video. Hope this clarifies!

Spot on Mike!
Beautiful home !!!
Thanks for your kind words!
your caption at 10:55 is wrong. it's 1100sq ft. not 100.
Hey there! Yes we're aware of it, apologies! However, we can't change it now since it's posted.
Stacked Home Bagus 👍👍👍👍👍
👍 Thank you!
any idea where the home owner got the vanity table in the common bathroom?
Hey there! It's from TaoBao, but unsure of the name!
thumbs up button smashed
MUCH APPRECIATED!! 😍
Reuben please do a video of how you got involved with properties & hosting!
Maybe some day!
Can kindly share the reno. cost and ID? TIA
Nice
🙌
Nice video, keep up the good work. I was puzzled, where is the bomb shelter?
Thank you Leonard! Oh yes you've raised a great question! The bomb shelter is still on the ground floor, so units here don't need a structural bomb shelter. For people who did not notice, owner said store room and not bomb shelter! New BTO!
The best housing estate in Singapore.
Thanks for watching!
Question to the host - where did you get your earring? Is it a piercing or those that just hooks on?
Hey man! It's a piercing haha - got it a couple of years back before I left on my little adventure around the world 😂

is below a storage space? no below are actually cabinets. ...........
😂
price?

Not sure if I hear wrongly, 100 sq ft.. 😅😂🤣 the Dakota tour is interesting..
Haha yes. good ear! Glad you find it interesting 🙌
Lolz. I grew up at Block 2
Thanks for watching! Hope it brought back good memories 🙌
Out of topic, i thot the intention is to compare old and new unit diff. The 2nd half of the show is just merely ID show.
Hey there! We wish we could get access into it, but it was cordoned off. we only intended to showcase what the old Dakota Crescent looks like, but the new 3-room flats that residents from the old site were offered.

Wait, did he hack the bomb shelter to make space for the kitchen? Oh man, that's a big problem.
Hey! Actually it's a store, not a bomb shelter 👌
@@StackedHomes If that's the case, where is the household bomb shelter?
I like the video, I like the content but maybe show us more shots of the surroundings and the flats instead of constantly featuring shots of yourself and as if thats not enough, you have more shots of yourself filming yourself. Just abit of my opinion… no offence intended.

Why do you guys often film the host filming himself? Such an odd frame to add.
Hi quartzcookie, thanks for sharing your feedback with us. @@StackedHomes Videography is great! Is Reuben using the Osmo Pocket?
100 sq ft ? Lol.
😂
@@StackedHomes i thought a 3rm flat is usually 65 sqm which is approx 700 sqft? 100 sqft doesn't sound right, neither does 100 sqm
Hey guys just to clarify, the unit is 62sqm ~ 667 sqft (I *think* Jerrold meant to say "about 700 sqft" 😄)
Not planning to have children for this couple…
Maybe - maybe not 🤔
Too much talkings, annoyingly frustrating
Thanks for your feedback!
Then perhaps this is not for you. We like it this way. Thanks. GOOD JOB STACKEDHOMES
The only thing that is frustrating is your comment. Too much words.
