    Great video as always, a little devils advocate on the intergrated sight. Nothing with a compound bow is necessary when you look at the game people get with traditional archery equipment. I think the overall purpose of the sight integration is to slim out the profile and levelness on a bow with a quiver on, as backpack hunting has gotten more and more mainstream.

      I like the direction you are taking in looking at the integration features. The sights mounting in-line with the riser could be beneficial in the way you mention. It just seems like the marketing behind the integration features revolves more around making the bow balance better and like I said in the video, I believe low profile quivers make more difference than anything else for balance. However, to fit a quiver as close to the riser as possible, you need the integrated rest and sight so I see the best argument for integration coming from that perspective. Thanks for the comment!

      @@joelculpepperoutdoors4262 i definitely feel it is a system and no I’m not only saying that because of sponsors. The system combined gives you the perfect balance feel. With the rest and sight to accompany the quiver you do not even need a back bar for the balancing aspect. I tend to spend the bulk of my money on inserts, collars and broadheads. It seems most arrows are somewhat equal now, I am a 4mm fan and we have a few options out there all around the same price. Anyways, great post man.

      @@snboutdoors9567 I get what you are saying. After shooting some different bows with different setups, I didn’t notice integrated rests and sights making a noticeable difference on the balance of the bow. Just my opinion. Spending more time and energy on arrows and components is more beneficial because that is what actually flies down range so I definitely respect that. The most important thing is being confident in your equipment!

    Love the video man keep em up i’m down here in perry GA so i saddle hunt and tree stand hunt only whitetail with my bow. I shoot a hoyt vtm so there is a tight quiver option. do u recommend i buy a two pice non removable quiver that runs crazy tight or should i just get the removable quiver.
    I also saw u mention tifton so not far away do u know any 3d courses around the area u recommend

      If you are planning to hunt with the quiver on, definitely a two piece. It helps you make sure you feel the balance of the bow better than if you shoot without the quiver and hunt with it on. You can still remove a two piece with tools at home if you wanted to remove and two piece quivers, especially Hoyt’s and Mathews, fit incredibly tight.
      To answer your question about 3D courses, the only one I know about is in Hahira. It is called Bullseye Archery Range and they do tournaments and you can pay for a year long membership to shoot the range. I am in the process of convincing the guy in Tifton to do a 3D shoot up there. If you are ever close to Tifton, swing in Powerhouse Outdoor Equipment and say Joel sent you! You will be treated right and get the best prices around!

    Love the vids man. Let me get your advice on something I’m looking to get a new bow I have a old pse brute I believe from 2012. I bought it used a few years back and it’s been good to me I killed my first buck with it and a doe last year I got it restrung with gas strings and it seems ok it has a cheap sight and whisker biscuit. So I’ve been contemplating on either getting a used Mathews for 3-400 from eBay or just buy a new bow for around 6-700 I’m looking at either the Darton consequence or the bear Alaskan those are what seem to be the best that are right around my budget. What are your thoughts?

      I appreciate the support! I shot the Consequence for a few months and loved that bow. After going through 2 of them due to manufacturer errors, I got rid of it. I’m not very familiar with Bear Archery, but spec-wise, the Alaskan XT is a beast. I would say to shoot both and decide that way. Or, if you like integration, go with the Bear. Also think about the utility; are you hunting 40 yards max or are you going to stretch shots out past 60? I know this is kind of a long answer, but that’s how I try to decide on a bow. Also, check out the Elites in that price range if you get a chance. They are solid too. Good luck to you!

      @@joelculpepperoutdoors4262 I only plan upon hunting and I’d never shoot past 40. And ok I’ll check out some elites too there definitely good looking bows.

      @@tylergarrison9031 Just based on what you’ve said, I’d be leaning more toward the Consequence since it’s shorter and still balances very well. Just my recommendation but I think that’s the way to go! Good luck!

    Hey bud. Cool channel
    I just subscribed!! Give me a follow as well
    I’m
    New to TH-cam. I just have 1 question…. What exactly makes your limb (break) (splinter) what did Mathews tell you ??

    • @joelculpepperoutdoors4262
      @joelculpepperoutdoors4262  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      One of the shops I use actually went to Mathews for me to get the limb so I have no idea what they were actually told by Mathews. As for the cause, we do not know. Broken nocks and cracked arrows can definitely cause limbs to break but that was not the issue here. Probably just a freak accident. Thanks for the comment!
      Also, you got some cool stuff going on with your channel. Keep it up!
