EXCELLENT video. Helped me pull my skid to replace my front torque arm. Did it solo, planned to spend a couple days working through all the steps but everything kept going so smooth and got it done in under two hours 🤯 Thank you very much.
Thanks so much Dan Great video! I need to replace a track and this gets me in the right direction💪 Would be great to get the next step for replacing the track on an Axys with QD belt drive system, not so many videos out there on that and it would help a lot... keep it up Dan
I've been struggling to get mine back together after a torque arm replacement and this video looks like its going to make my life much easier! Thank you kindly. Keep up the awesome video.
A lot of people attempt skid removal/installation with the sled on a lift. You can unload the springs by doing so...but upon the re-install the weight of the skid and track can create some cussing and swearing trying to get the bolt/anchor locations lined back up. Putting the machine on its side is definitely the easiest and least time consuming to accomplish this task. Great video.
Great vid. Never had a reason to pull a skid, but I've been a little apprehensive about ever doing it. Seems much easier than I thought. Could you do a vid on taking jumps?
Like others, pulled skids for years, heard about laying it on it’s side, too stubborn to try it, doing drive shaft bearing on 2014 indy tomorrow and will try this. Nice work on this video, strictly business, thank you.
Would leaving the ratchet on when putting the skid back on make it easier to align the holes? And then just taking the ratchet off once the bolts are in?
Do you have any tech sheet on how hard you tighten the bolts in the rails or you just harden them be feeling? Because you talk about how hard to tighten the four bolts in the body, 46-47 foot-pounds
Bolts on opposite side keep spinning. Broke them all loose first, then removed one went to the other side and it just spins. How do you keep it from spinning? Great video BTW.
Figured it out. Just have to use high speed impact to spin the bolts faster than the internal shaft spins. Wish ther was a way to stop that shaft from spinning though.
Jeremy Knapp You can take pressure away by loosening your preload or taking air out of an air shock. If it’s still too much pressure you may look into re-valving your center shock. Thanks
Thats exactly what i was thinking i need to replace a track and this gets me in the right direction💪 Would be great to get the next step for replacing the track on an Axys with QD belt drive system 🙏
I’ve been pulling skids for decades and alway fought it. You make it look easy. Thank you!
Thanks Mike, its always a bit of a fight but hopefully these tips help a bit.

That ratchet strap tip is awesome!👍👍
Thanks Jim
More vids like this please. Love to learn tips and triks about working on the sled😁
Thanks Thomas
Great detailed video on the skid. Please don't stop making videos like these.
We won't, thanks for watching

This video made it a breeze removing the skid suspension ! Thankx for the video Dan !

I hooked mine up to a chain pulley, then you can lift up and down without anything in the way.
Easy.
Awesome video. For People that do there own maintenance. I woulda paid huge for this in my early riding days. Keep them coming!
They are surprisingly easy to work on until you get into the electronics and engine. Everything else you can easily do in your home garage.

Could you do a vid on taking jumps?
Yeah we will put it on the list, thanks for watching
Great idea with the ratchet strap! Way better than readjusting the track tension every time. Great work guys!

If one bolt keeps spinning what is the tip to get it out?
I have done this job a few times but glad I watched as you gave me some helpful pointers Dan! Keep up the great work!
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching
Best looking wraps in the game Dan! Great video, I’m creating an RMKhaos tomorrow.
Thanks for doing all these how to videos, have really helped me improve my riding🙌🏽
Great to hear Carson, thanks for your support
Ya do a vid on jumps. throttle and braking in the air and off lips
Thats a good idea, we will put it on the list
This was perfect. I was struggling to get things lined up… tip it on its side and boom they all lined up. Thanks!
Great method it simplifies the bolt install, thanks Dan.
Thanks for watching John
Thank you for posting this. Def post more vids on common repairs, maintenance and mods.
I seriously did this a week ago and wish I saw this before 😂
:)
Same
I have to pull my skid in the A.M to fix a busted torque arm.. thanks for the video man
Dan love all your vids. I just bought my first sled. ‘05 Ski-Doo MXZ Rev 500ss Trail.
Thank you for your time tutoring!!!
Thanks for watching
This video is amazing! Made fixing the suspension a cinch!
Thats what we like to hear.
Good video my only critique is next time suspend the tunnel a little bit and take the downward pressure off the four skid bolts before removing them
Would you pull the skid to replace the rear idler wheels and axel? Or can you leave the sled on sitting on the ground
Just subscribed. Love your videos you deserve more subs
Use tap & die set to clean up bolt and axel threads ... keeps buildup of locktite to a minimum for future removal
Check out the Sidekick product. Makes removing the skids sooo much easier and you do not have to rachet strap it down to take off tension

Another very detailed video, keep up the good work! Would like to come ride with you some day.
Thanks Brandon, it would be great to have you at one of our clinics.
Super nice video🤩
Can you guys make a video of what you should be aware of and should maintenance after riding? 😊
We actually have that exact video coming in the next few weeks. Stay tuned
Thanx, took 10mins to get the frame to my table 💪 👍
I have a 129 xc Why does my rear scissor hit that aluminum cross rod that goes from rail to rail when I lift the sled.
All mountain stuff here bud. That will certainly be a good question for the dealer 👍
thank you very much it help me a lot.🤘
Awesome keep practicing 💪
Awesome video! Made it look very simple! Thank you!
Great video. Thanks for the help
fantastic how to video...top shelf!
Great video Dan ... love your shop BTW.
Thanks Denis
Do a video on what you carry in tunnel bags and all bags. Gear, safety, tools, first aid, etc
Brett Egeland You were reading our minds! Already in the works bud! Stay tuned!
Good vid Dan, is it similiar on a pro ride chassis?
Yeah almost the exact same process on all late model Polaris mountain sleds

You can use a racket strap and not tip the sled on its side at all that's what the two loops on the front of the skid is for
Looks alot easier tipping it on the side definitely trying that next time
For sure, thanks for watching James
How do you relieve the pressure on the front track shock?
Jeremy Knapp You can take pressure away by loosening your preload or taking air out of an air shock. If it’s still too much pressure you may look into re-valving your center shock. Thanks
Very easy way to remove the skid.
Can u go one step further and show what's involved in swapping the track?
Yes possibly in a future video
Thats exactly what i was thinking i need to replace a track and this gets me in the right direction💪 Would be great to get the next step for replacing the track on an Axys with QD belt drive system 🙏
Awesome. Thanks Dan.
Thanks for watching
Thanks.
excellent
Is it pretty much the same procedure on a 2014 pro rmk?
Yep. I use a cherry picker to elevate the tunnel, but this looks easier
Yes pretty the exact same process
First?
Winner! :)
Ayyyy let’s go
Way too much talking... talk as you do it, can’t watch any longer!
