Had to cut both front and back of my rail slides/hyfaxes. You might want to mention that in a bubble. If you only cut back end then you probably need to buy another set.
Also, mine aren't sliding anywhere near as easily as yours. Yes I lubricated first 2 feet.
I've installed new hyfaxes on both the axys chassis 800's and when polaris switched to the "lighter" hyfaxes. did not need to cut anything just takes a little longer to get them off. Each set will be slightly different considering condition of hyfaxes, rails etc.
I don't know anyone that's needed to cut theirs so I'm not going to make a bubble about it.
Just got a new set from Polaris for my 2020 assault. You are right, my hole was 3" farther down than my original one. Instead of another $60 i drilled a hole 3" up to put it in the right spot to keep the length. I'll compare wear in another 4600 km as the other is right

Should the tension be slightly less since the new hyfax take up more room?
in a sense, yes. but the tension will be just barely different each time you loosen it all up anyway.
The original adjustment should be a good place to start.
The tension and alignment should be checked occasionally.
This would be an ideal time to properly adjust/fine tune everything.

Well that's all good and fine if the hyfax fits through the hole in the track, and mine on my 2016 800 pro s doesn't, now what pull the whole platform out, great!!!
The skid is 4 bolts on the axys RMK. I can’t speak for your pro s but it’s probably just a few extra minutes to pull
@@ColinMcEvoy pull the skid. Compress the rear shocks with a ratchet strap. Pull two bolts on one side, lay the sled over on the other side and it’ll come right out with the springs compressed. Simple.
Way easier: Once you have the old hyrax sticking 6 inches out of the window in the back- fire it up with a stand in the back so that the track is off the ground then run it in reverse and the track will strip the hyrax right off for you.

Just take the suspension out and do it right
how does taking the suspension out change anything about the process? leaving the suspension in give you something to push and pull against to remove and install the hyfaxs.... im very confused how taking the suspension out is "doing it right" but hey thanks for the engagement which pushes my video to more people meaning more ad revenue money for me
