Just got my shocks back from Bruce and put them in on Saturday. Just sitting on it is night and day difference. I can't wait to get it on the snow! Keep up the excellent videos Jesse!
Hallelujah, no more days of 4 sprocket drivers and threaded cross shaft that loved to fuse to the mounting bolts and spin the whole shaft! Great information, thanks gents!
I made my "prop rod" that goes thru the steering post out of standard 1/2 threaded end plumbing pipe and a 1/2 in. Black Iron Mini Flange threaded base to go against the floor that I bought at Home Depot. Cost me about 12 bucks. Works perfectly!
Hi, thanks for the video. I just removed the skid and had the shocks rebuilt. rear end still won't rebound. 2019 Polaris indy Xc 800. 4500kms. Any suggestions?
Are you taking the the pressure off of the skid by loosening the back adjuster bolts? It looked like the bolt was backed way off on the skid that went back in. Track has to be aligned and adjusted after taking it out anyway so I would think that would just make it easier.
correct. with a new stiff track It is much easier to loosen the rear axle and slide It forward. once the track is broken in its pretty easy to do It without loosening them!
I just did this last weekend on my assault. Skid is still on the sled, my shocks are currently being rebuilt. Is it worth me pulling the skid now or did I do the hard part already by getting them off?
@@JESSEJAMES322 I had a hell of a time getting some of the bolts out of the front shock. Even undoing the limiter strap, it still was under compression so the bolts didn’t want to come out. I’ll probably pull the skid when putting them back on to save some headache. I had Wenzlaff Performance rebuild them in Stevens Point, WI.
Is it normal for there to be play in the lower bushing of the shock pivot arm? I noticed the disassembled bench example was kind of rattling and mine is the same. To be clear I’m referring to the piece that you said you learned something new between 129/137. Thanks in advance
Good to know. Now I want the Hygear linkage for my xcr even more. Thanks for getting back to me and everything you and Bruce do. The resource and info is priceless.

yup i have a home made one at my shop. Threaded rod and an electrical box!!

who rebuilt the shocks? have you replaced the torsion springs?
@@JESSEJAMES322 I am in Ottawa. Someone that does it professionally here. Have not replaced the torsion springs
torsion springs have alot of mikes/kms on them. a spring can only come back so many times. im sure new torsion springs would help
I've got a snow check on the way that I want to have the shocks gone through before the season, what's the turnaround time looking like?
once they get to Bruce only a few days and they are headed back your way. he knows the seasons are short so he gets them done and right back to you!

Is there any videos or anything on how to remove the rear suspension out of a 2018 Switchback XCR? I cant find anything.
i do not have any of those. I will have to put that on the list to do with bruce
@@JESSEJAMES322 That would be awesome! I have seen on a few pages that others have come up empty in their search for one also.
Excellent video as usual. For sure, things have changed since the 70's.
thank you!! they have made this pretty easy I have to say!
Has Bruce ever added extra idler wheels to the 136 XCR where the rails tip to help with slider wear? Velocity sled performance has a kit.
we have not but as you stated Velocity has a kit and it works great!
Good work! There is absolutely nothing out there on the pro S and Pro X skid
in regards to removal?
That Jesse and Bruce! I feel that was for me lol. I've got new hyfax to install I think I'm going to remove the shocks and run them down to Southside.
would be a smart move! get them set up properly for you!!
No brainer just have Bruce do them they'll take anything. My sled is a true XCR now mind blowing 🤯🤯🤯💪🤙
could not agree more!
Nice work guys 👍
Thank you!! cant wait to be putting my skid back in with all the ICE AGE goodies!!
I pulled my shocks out with the skid still on. Never again.
thats a process that is NOT fun at all!

if you got them off then throw them back in that way. who is rebuilding them?
