We just bought a 2013 Expedition EL for $19,500. Granted it has a little more miles than I wanted, but it is very loaded with everything but sunroof! In 4 years we will probably upgrade to a 2018 with 30-50k miles for $24k or less. SUV’s just don’t hold the value that a truck will hold at the same sticker price.

Dreysen Lindgren it sounds to me like you're making up stories !I highly doubt you got better gas mileage, if you did you were going downhill the whole trip! my Expeditions used to get 14 miles to the gallon, 2 when I would pull a trailer they were a joke! I'll never own a vehicle again that you can't get the spark plugs out of and the cam phasers and exhaust manifolds blow every other year!! enjoy your make-believe aluminum spaceship on your way to Mars!!! blue oval boy! don't let the Avatar fool you I've owned them both and I learned the hard way!

Great video! THX! I Recently moved from a 17 F350 Platinum 6.7 to a 18 Expedition Platinum. Absolutely love it. Drives 2/3rds its size, quiet, comfy, yet sporty with the 22" wheels and Sport Mode. The CCD electronic active suspension is marvelous, comfort when u want and sporty on tap. Corners pretty flat in Sport mode. Double side window and windshield glass keeps and effective insulation keeps noise out too. Independant front and rear suspension makes a huge difference. Interior leg room in all 3 rows is class leading - back row tilts too. Unusually large array of stellar safety features. Rear pass door handle touch sensors are great. Wife is 5' 2" and loves driving it.
Some nit picks: Middle row seat tilt forward access a bit heavy and can bind a bit mid slide, electric seat row fold is a bit slow, non Max version cargo space behind upright 3rd row is small, need mud flaps for significant tire spray, hatch foot sensor unreliable and flakey, bumper tow hitch area looks bad when cover removed, spend too much time washing it because it looks so damp nice (pearl white paint), gotta set aside lots of time most times out as so many people want to talk about the Expedition :).
Overall, best all around vehicle I've ever owned/driven.

this vehicle is way ahead of the current gm lineup. Think a better competitor is the toyota land cruiser - tops out at 85 grand, but can easily get 10k below msrp since such a low volume truck. land cruiser wins on reliability, off road capability, and resale. expedition wins on tech/luxury, mpg and cargo capacity. If it were my $ i'd get a fully loaded expedition xlt fx4 and save nearly 15 grand. SUVs in this class are getting way too overpriced...

I have the pro-trailer backup assist in my 16 F-150 and I personally don't care for it. Then again I drive a semi for a living. Kind of takes some getting used to if you are used to backing a trailer without it. It limits how tight you can back a trailer though. Not trying to talk bad about it, but due to my personal experience with trailers I don't see a use for it.

The reason I wouldn't want the feature turning the engine off at a stop light is the wear and tear on the motor every time it starts. The oils is in the pan not being circulated. The more unnecessary starts the more wear. My opinion anyway. At least it can be left off if you don't want it.

2 things that were missed. 1. Is that the platinum trim version has 400 hp and 480 torque instead of the standard 375 and 470.
    2. The 22 inch wheel option comes with a different suspension, I don't know or remember all the details on it but there are at least 3 different ride/drive selections or modes to choose from. Such as soft, normal and sport.

VERY nice, but I confess I'm astonished that they STILL haven't provided an integrated dashcam. You have multiple cameras providing all-angle coverage yet apparently no ability to save the camera video onto a memory card. For years, dashcam video has been accepted as evidence in court and by insurance companies and I've used it myself, to my great benefit, in that context . So, people wanting to protect themselves from the mistakes of others will once again have to add on their own aftermarket products, with all associated wiring and installation hassles that goes along with it. Would you have any idea why, after all these years of dashcams being wildly popular worldwide, they still aren't offering it from the manufacturers?

Can the forward facing camera be set to automatically turn on , like when pulling into a parking lot, or wherever? I assume the 3rd row seats fold down and would have liked to have seen how much room you have when they are down, or removed. Could you for a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back with the tailgate closed? I can't remember if you said whether or not this comes in all wheel drive or not. I could almost consider this over another Platinum Crewcab F150.

As nice as this is all it is, an excursion but a modern version with an ecoboost the same exact dimensions less towing capacity (due to engine) and same room as far as seating and trunk space but a modern update of it

Big Truck Big RV Sure, my wife has a new Acura MDX with a 9 speed & my buddy has a 10 in his new F150. I’ve driven both extensively & they both run at such low RPM’s, the trans are constantly searching for the right gear. When they do find the correct gear or get in high gear, the engines are lugged down so low at that point then it has no power if needed. When you have to pass someone or get yourself out of a bad situation, it has to down shift & drop so many gears that there’s a hesitation and when it finds the correct gear they tend to have a herky jerky jump much more than the traditional 5 or 6 speed autos. Just my opinion from putting some miles behind these new multi-geared transmissions

The big wheel diameters don’t look good at all! Can you say Wagon Wheel. Mark my words: This fad of large wheel diameters will end the same way disco clothing did. What, we thought that was cool?! Wow, we were high during those years.

I’m sorry 😐 but both GMC & Chevy now offer the 6.2 V8 in their SUV ‘s ! I’m not paying that kind of money for some twin turbo V6 garbage! Try doing a review of the new Chevy RST Tahoe please?

In 10 to 15 years the tech will be totally different..like with the modern age here and with our planet suffering higher output engines with smaller displacements will be ideal. I honestly think if more small diesels were made that would be better than any gas v8s

    • @jerem0621
      @jerem0621 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The Ecoboost has been out for almost 8 years. It has proven very reliable. Ford went to a turbo on their diesel trucks in 94 and they are still going. Techs adapt so they can work on vehicles.

For comparison, a 2002 Sequoia, 2 wheel drive, 5.7 is rated 13 city, 18 highway. This 2018 Ford Expedition (2 wheel drive) is rated 17 city, 24 highway.
