What’s your vote: Metal or soft shackles?

A metal shackle is safe when used as the attachment point on the vehicle when used with a proper attachment point. If the rope or strap breaks it will still be attached to the vehicle.
Soft shackles are better/safer when used in between two ropes, straps, or a combination of the two.
Soft shackles shouldnt be used with any attachment point that has sharp angles or edges.

Carry both but buy the best quality no Chinese Amazon ones or rhino USA get something like yankum or factor 55

Soft shackle is way easier, I’ve been off-roading for 40 years, which means I have done more than one or two vehicle recovery’s , metal shackles , chains and cable (metal rope) winches are phasing out, synthetic rope products are the way to go !

Not only easier, but WAY safer! If a metal chain breaks it can be deadly.
