I've recently bought sets of the 20mm, 22, 25, 28 and 30mm axels and I've found if you don't want to glue the pins, you can put a tiny kink/bend in the pin which makes it pinch against the tube/axel and "locks" it in place. The more of a bend you put in, the harder it will be to put in/take out but it's enough to hold it all in place and removeable if you ever want to swap the wheels in the future. Really nice little kits.
But I also agree, I wish they'd do a size up, as some of the wheels come with a lot of slop from being drilled either not straight or ever so slightly too large for the axles. I've been toying with gluing the wheel hole and redrilling them to get tighter tolerance's/straighter. But it's a bit beyond my tool set.

You can buy long stainless tubes from aliexpress and use pins found at Walmart for end plugs. You can use a dremel cut off wheel or razor saw to cut the tube to whatever length you want. Your statement about putting a bend in the pin is spot on. I use a jewlers hammer I found at Harbor Freight to tap them in and get a good seat.
I have also played around quite a bit with the wheel axle hole size. Trying to upsize the axle to give a better fit results in way better wobble control but results in orders of magnitude increases in drag. Hot wheels "discovered" the thin music wire axle with the least diameter gave the best performance. And they are still right. IMHO, the best opportunity is going to be through merging those nice new aluminun wheels with hard plastic tires instead of the rubber tires they offer... or find someone to manufacture hard plastic tires with better axle holes.

I think I’m going to order these to cause I hate drilling the rivets.
