      I'm recovering from chronic Lyme and co-infections--a horrible disease. TH-cam has probably saved me a lot of trouble, with all the great teachers I have found here. I've learned the RDA for magnesium is probably too low, also. And I take Aussie Trace Minerals. Good stuff!

    30 - 40 yrs ago the Australian Broadcasting Commission did a program on the town that couldn't keep it's doctors. The towns residents generally gardened their own vegetables. The soil was very high in Magnesium. The doctors were interviewed, and were able to testify that all the general reasons for going to the doctor were absent..

    I was having heart palpitations for weeks. I had been on a “fitness health kick” so I was eating healthy whole foods, but reduced calories. I was also working out hard every day with weights, cardio and a steam room session, so sweating a lot daily. I thought I had a serious heart issue! After a little research, I started taking a magnesium supplement - my heart palpitations stopped the following day! Magnesium has a big effect on heart rhythm

      Same with me. My heart palpitations and ectopic beats completely cleared up the day after taking magnesium citrate.
      I will say however, that as a fellow fitness enthusiast, working out hard every day is far too much for your body. Especially if you include cardio in there too. You should really only workout hard like that 4 times a week at the most. Your body just won't have any time to recover.

    I've had worsening dysphagia since the age of 10. I'm 38 now and this year I couldn't swallow anything without chasing it with water or some other drink. I started taking a magnesium bis glycinate drink last week. Dysphagia cleared up the next day. I can easily swallow my food. A MIRACLE after a lifes worth of near choking to death moments.

      Awesome that’s really great! And that type of magnesium is combined with the amino acid glycine…Which helps relax certain parts of the body, that can be tense without it, and should help with sleep. Happy you got help after sooo long!

      Wow, I’ve noticed an increasingly worsening of having trouble swallowing food over the past year or so. I can’t eat without a big cup of water to help me swallow just about every bite of food. I’ve only just discovered a possible magnesium deficiency problem and have just started to take supplement. I’d be absolutely thrilled if my swallowing problem goes away. I was getting ready to make an appt for an ENT doc soon. Hopefully I won’t need to!

      Dr Carolyn Dean is very good on the subject, too !
      I took notes of all the medications that contain fluoride which depletes magnesium.
      Next to all of the chemical drugs because it gets the drug faster into the bloodstream if l remember correctly.

What I found new for me from this podcast was additional information about how to convince people that because of modern farming they might be deficient, about the usefulness of magnesium from food, about methylation and excess homocysteine, and about the fact that removing cerebral spinal fluid may cause a brain deficiency if magnesium. My niece just had a sample removed and I need to inform her. I am sure there are others that have some important information to share in he topic as well.

    Deficiency is primarily due to the milling of grains. Minerals lie in the outer layers of the grain that is removed
    Indigenous peoples for eons have used corn as a staple in the diet. American Indians, Latin people’s (formerly Incaz)
    Indian and middle Eastern
    Take foods rich in magnesium part of diet
    Yellow vegetables ,pumpkins, butternut squash,
    The body functions by constant contraction and relaxation
    Calcium causes contractions
    Magnesium causes relaxation

    I am thankful for this video having been posted to my phone. It solidified my concept on the importance of Magnesium in our diet.
    I had suffered a lot of severe cramps in my thighs so devastating I felt one day it will trigger a heart attack therefore I put my thinking cap on about the physiology of muscle contraction, which among other dietary & micro mineral elements relies on Calcium & Magnesium. The moment I put myself on Magnesium Supplement as far back as the 80s, I was free from these severe cramps & irregular heart beats.
    To everyone out there, take this lecture as an important message to protect you from serious ill health. Prevention is better than cure.

      I am thankful for the article on a forgotten mineral, Magnesium that
      I encountered reading way back in 1993.
      It's benefits to our body is so many that I
      took it seriously and started taking this
      supplement since 1993. I am over 70 now and never missed a day not taking it. Maybe that is very helpful bc I am in
      good health, not on any maintenance medication, no heart of blood pressure or sugar issues. This doctor's presentation is so much in detailed and
      so amazing. The fact that Magnesium helps our brains is so awesome.
      So many people suffers from Migraine and Depression, Alzheimer's that they take those other strong drugs and not Magnesium. I am so glad that there are
      groups of Functional Doctors now that
      educating the public through this media because America is getting sicker
      and sicker now. So many young and old around are obese and unhealthy because of all processed foods available. It is time that America takes control of their own health and not just depend on prescription drugs and be

      @@williamporter8748 Magnesium citrate targets lung function, I Swear by it, I use it 2 to 3 times a day..if you take this, also take in conjunct with D3 & K2, take them together With magnesium..the K2 takes calsium to the bones and takes it out of every area of the body it shouldn't be, skin, all blood vessels, arteries, joints, muscles, & organs, it "decalsifies' thee entire body..please look it up, its fascinating, and true..potassium also helps muscle function, helps eleviate muscle cramps..hope this helps, and if you're going to take Glutathione, take a Liposome Glutathione, it goes directly into the cells but take it with magnesium citrate, I do, amazing combo, I get amazing results

    Magnesium is critical! Performs 1300 functions in the body.
    I had heart palpitations and serious gut issues for years.
    I got on the correct type of magnesium, and my gut issues stopped in one week, my heart palpitations stopped in 24 hours, which shocked me.

      @@elulugnie4250 I had something similar to this with heart palpitations. Took Magnesium Bisglyinate (pure 200 mg). 2 pills a day, one in the the morning, one a few hours before bed, and palpitations are gone.

      I am trying all magnesium but my problem may be more methyl folate related. So cud not decided which one is best.

      “The Nutrition Bible” by Dr Henry Osiecki is excellent
      Osiecki is one of the first of this kind of nutritional biochemists. And president of Complimentary medicine for the Western world

    Massive Magnesium deficiency here …..my father had chronic migraines growing up as a child. My mother had ectopic heartbeats since pregnant with me , in the mid 80’s doctors were clueless to it. For the last 2 years at least my asthma symptoms started up again HAVENT had since a child. Almost 40. GUT issues that won’t heal, constipation almost like CHRONIC IBS , PMS , Energy drain, dizziness, insomnia, nausea, blood sugar going high and low , feeling absolutely horrible. Leg cramps too good night those are horrible. Brain fog 😶‍🌫️ nothing heals it. Had to have an emergency appointment with my doctor 👩‍⚕️ last Friday felt as if I was going to land in a hospital. Upping magnesium like crazy….Using different magnesium glycinate, citrate,malate, theonate,…..anxiety,ocd,depression, paranoia,hallucinations, dizziness, fibromyalgia almost, allergies worsening. 😢😢😢😢

      To close out this overly-long comment, remember that when the capitalists adopted reporting controls from the bureaucrats, the bureaucrats continued to use them. So you know that, behind those stories about ‘disappeared’ people in Argentina, Chile, East Germany, etc. there was a secret police weekly report something like, “Enemies of the State identified this reporting period.”

    For years I had Restless Leg Symptoms at night. This led to poor sleep, brain, fog, low mood etc. Drs had no idea but decided to take magnesium and wow! I now sleep at night.

    Apart from sleep and cognitive issues, I had begun to experiences brief but alarming episodes of double vision - the scary type which goes away when one eye is closed, returns when you open it again. This all very quickly resolved once I began to take a Mg-containing mineral supplement, so that, like the comment on dysphagia below, I suspect the double vison may have been a much less common manifestation of Mg deficiency. As a large animal veterinarian, I might add that both acute and chronic deficiencies of Mg have long been well recognized in farm animals, and particularly in stressed/lactating ruminants or those from whom calves have been recently removed...Most sincere thanks again to Dr El-Khodor!

    I had cognitive issues , insomnia , bone and joint pain I had headaches I also had crazy electric tingling down my arms and legs I felt so weak just going up stairs . I felt dissociated and had horrible focus I felt tired all the time . I follow a gluten and dairy free diet , rarely use caffeine . I eat paleo , I don’t use drugs . I don’t drink or use nicotine products either. Nutrients are vital you guys magneisum has helped a lot with many of these things . I was always feeling anxious physically without any external reasons for stress and that is way way down its actually sur real to me . I use 400mg mag taurate per day .

    If my leg is cramping, magnesium immediately handles it, especially magnesium oil, massaged into the muscle. One time I drank a soda with Aspartame, it caused heart palpitations, I immediately drank a calcium magnesium powder in water, and my heart returned to normal. I don’t use Aspartame as a general rule.

    TIP … Mg is unpleasant (bitter tasting) if you add it to your water UNLESS you leave the water to stand over night … then it becomes sweet tasting. Surprisingly sweet!
    (I use Mg Chloride flakes)

    My Holistic doctor has me taking a lot of different vitamins, they know how important vitamins are for a person. Even how to avoid Covid with different vitamins.

    My neurologist recommended I take 500mg of magnesium with 400mg of B2. It reduced or eliminated premigraine symptoms. It’s difficult to find either in most pharmacies in Ontario. My results were good.

      I find non buffered bisglycinate magnesium to be best, most other types give me gastro issues and act as a laxative. Remember to look at the elemental amount of magnesium rather than the total per pill. So for example most supplements say they are 500mg but in fact they are only 50mg elemental.

    Seem to get foot and leg cramps if I drink too much coffee, its alleviated by taking magnesium if that does not work potassium.

    🍁 maple syrup is high in magnesium..the tree moves nutrition roots to leaves of maple tree we harvest the sap boil to reduce water and get thick syrup/ concentrated magnesium 1to2 oz on a regular basis is healthy

    Dr El-Khodor gives a wonderfully eye-opening lecture, for which i am extremely grateful! But I am confused about how, following his early remarks about the difficulty of discovering anyone's true Mg status, how, later in his lecture, he determines or other researchers determined if people truly are deficient, and by how much, short of taking CFS samples?
