Casio G-Shock GSW-H1000 Smartwatch Review

- Casio’s first G-Shock smartwatch is here. The GSW-H1000 has a touchscreen, Google’s Wear OS, and even a heart rate sensor, but is it still a G-Shock watch? If so, will anyone who isn’t a fan of the brand want one?

Very nice video. I‘m not a smartwatch fan, but this smartwatch looks good. I love the classic G-Shock.
I like the range man because of design but it lacks many features I’m looking for. This watch looks similarly to rangeman and has many more features so I probably would buy!

Consumers should be able to know what they’re buying in terms on internals. I have the gbd h1000 and looking to upgrade to this

As I understand it, "multi-sensor" doesn't have a temp sensor?
You did not mention the many functions of the watch. What was it capable of ?

I love G-Shock but I'm happy I got my GW4.
the battery life is a gigantic issue...if you are on an adventure trip you can’t use it past the first day...where can you charge it?
$700 for a resin GShock is a bit hard to swallow and I got the MTG instead but someday i would like to have this.

Thanks, and Casio doesn't state what type of glass it is, but it's definitely not sapphire.
I bought mine 3 weeks ago and now it doesn’t charge, I can’t find the recipe and Casi is saying I will have to pay to get it fix!! $700 dls watch!
I want a tough smartwatch. Thought this might be it. But you are right, the lack of NFC and pricing is an issue. Dont know how this one charges or whether it can bluetoothed to speakers

1) does it shows the note or reminder saved on my phone or app?
2) Does it have a screen showing always a "dual time" hour)
music control and notification does it have
This just proves gshock is not a smartwatch company. I’m glad they kept the. Classic rugged look; give it another generation and they’ll get it right.
Can anyone tell me If this watch has more functions (usual classic Casio stuff) or the GPR B1000 Rangeman ???? I am not referring to the smartwatch functions......rather the array of standard casio functions.
What is the name of the watchface? It is very alike to Rangeman GPR B1000, the sunset and sunrise icon looks sikilar. Love it

Aaa.... Ok. Now I have noticed, that this face watch is the one, that is origally in, just set to show the sunrise. I use other watch faces to my GSW H1000, so I didn't remember the look of the original one 🙈🙈😉
How durable is the screen. Is it strong enough to handle outdoor use.
Battery is not a 2 day constatnt use-it is 8 hours with gps and workout tracking on🤦♂️ 2 days with screen brightness on minimum, wi fi off ,etc is a joke, not for this price. I have Rangeman, Frogman, GBDH 1000 but I think I''ll pass this one.
How do you like the GBD H1000 overall? I'm trying to decide whether or not to get one, but the only reviews I've seen look at it solely as a fitness watch.

Not really a G-shock fan, I'm more of an apple watch fan but since i'm dirt poor i could only afford the lookalike from watchplaystore :'(

Does the google keyboard work with wear OS on this watch?
Can you response calls and notifications from the watch, can storage music and play it in the watch. Thanks
Music can be stored on the watch and played on Bluetooth headphones. Notifications can be interacted with, but it does depend on the app, and is more comprehensive when connected to an Android phone.

too big for my wrist if they make a smaller square with the same specs I'm getting it asap... But with my wrist anything over 50 mm looks silly

Just like the Casio protrek wsd f20 from a couple of years ago which had terrible battery life
have t20. Would love more battery life, but If I charge it daily like the phone, it's never run out even in heavy use.
The monochrome screen seems quite poor compared to the MIP screens on some recent G-Shocks.
It’s visible in all lighting conditions, and is equal to the one fitted to the TicWatch Pro 3. Don’t compare it to a “regular” watch, as it will always be a compromise.
I think the trick is that the monochrome screen has to be completely transparent when not in use. Limits how it can be implemented.
Can you disable the 2nd screen and have the primary display for always on? It will kill more battery but sometimes i just want to see the beautiful primary display all the time
Yes you can
You will probably like the 2nd screen often anyhow if you spend time outdoors. Unlike the wearOS 'always on', it's very easy to read in the brightest sunlight.
How do I get the sunrise and sunset accurate?

No it’s not. By Wear OS standards, two days is good. Switch to the second screen and it’s up to a month, which is excellent for a smartwatch.

I wanted this watch but couldn't find one ! I own 6 g shocks and wanted to stay with them in a smart watch ! So I'm trying a garmin instinct 2x tactical smart watch ! Sorry g shock I tried getting one !
