Just to note the Retro Lancer’s bayonet WAS usable against Locust Grubs, but only if the soldier built up enough momentum via a Bayonet Charge to actually be able to penetrate the Grub’s thick hide. They weren’t necessarily useless, but if you’re charging an enemy strong enough to rip off your arm and beat you to death with it, I reckon you’d rather have a chainsaw.
You could also slash or jab with it. It really was just a case of early game writers throwing out a cool weapon to justify a less realistic, more iconic and equally cool weapon. The jab in particular was really underutilised by most players in GOW3. Soften up a shotgunner, hold B, then just before you start charging, wallbounce his shot. You'll start charging instantly once you cancel the cover slide.
The bayonet charge execution makes a whole lotta sense while looking cool as heck. They first impale the grub, then they raise their bodies over the head so that the bayonet fully impales their bodies.

Very good information
I want a lancer mark 2 in real life.
6:55 it's a fuckin sniper rifle man. Fuckin cross map active reload head shot
Not gonna lie I want a pendulum wars gears game
So how in GoW3 does a Retro Lancer's bayonet charge impale a Locust, if in the novel, they can't even breach the outer skin? How was this retconned?
Gameplay purpose
Coolness factor
Molotov cocktails? Did they actually call them that in the comics or the more realistic petrol bomb term. As Molotov cocktails implies a lot of events in our history occurred in theirs as well lol
Just call it Gears of Lore bro
Am i the only one that would NEVER Switch out a lancer. Retro or not the lancer was awsome in my opinion
Imagine the Board Meeting for the Lancer Devlopmenting
COG Soldier: We need a Weapon that we can have equipment like the Retro Lancer but better
Weapon Designer: How about a Chainsaw
COG Soldier Maybe a Flashlight
Weapon Designer: Chainsaw
COG Soldier: But
Designer Chainsaw
Tai created the idea after using a saw when he ran out of ammo its in the comics/ books
@@XXAnthonyCarmineXx Didn't Know that Tradegy Tai if was alive he would be Uncle Tai to JD and mentor to Kaitv
UIR weapons when?
If Gears wasn't an Xbox exclusive, I would so be playing it right now
Why not include the new lancers and the ones DeeBees use.
11:30 name of the game?
The twin-barrel-turret sucks.
wish there was a hoi4 mod of gears of war or coh game like it or mod
