Hi everyone! This video is almost a year old (only a few days after launch) and a few days ago (August 19, 2022), the Summer patch dropped. There have been many updates since this video was made, but most of if not all of the tech and combos still work just fine! Make sure to look at the patch notes of the newest version (and maybe even previous patch notes) to stay up-to-date with Shiki if you haven't already. It's mainly just changes of move properties to keep up with; For example 5B moves further and 236A crumples the enemy now!
It was brought to my attention that the notation for the basic blockstring at 7:32 was written incorrectly. The correct notation is 2A > 5B > 2B > 5C > 2C > 2C > 236A.
the early part of this guide is really good it helps me understand what and what each basic buttons do im new to fighting game hopefully u can do a saber one :)
Also good to note that you can do IAD neutral double jump for EX DP mix to make it much more ambiguous. The double jump timing can be a bit weird though
Dude, you are my saviour. I played MBTL non-stop last week and if intially I had a feeling that with every match, no matter lose or win I was getting better, obtaining deeper understanding of the game, after some time I started to getting frustrated. I had a feeling that I am lacking in more technical knowledge, because always everyone punished me really hard for every single mistake, and I wasn't able to understand what exactly I was doing wrong, but after some time I get to conclusion that I just using wrong, unsafe buttons, and also most of the times used them in wrong time. And if second mistake I can only correct by myself (by learning to not to mash buttons like a retard :D), the first is was too hard for me. Thank you!

Great guide, but I have problems getting a feel for his standard bnb route ...>j.[C]>dj.B(2)>land 5BB etc. Its either I do dj.B too early and it ends with an air throw or do it too late and the land 5BB followup isnt stable.
A trick I use is to base the delay j.B and 5B off of visual cues. After j.[C], press j.B right before the enemy touches the ground, then wait until you see Shiki land and 5B right after. You have more time to land than you may think, and if you press 5B too fast he'll air throw. This should make 5BB land consistently as well, but another trick for that is to slightly delay the second B input. Hope this helps!
@@BoomerangKuwanger12 Yeah I find that the combo stabilizes after I see the cross hitspark from j.[C], wait a little then j.B then wait for him to land. I can land it around 3/5x in a real match, but when I feel like the land autocombo 5BB will flub, I just convert to 3C for the air ender
Thank you for pointing that out!! That's correct, should be 5C and 2C. As for the 236L, most fighting games Use L,M,H instead of A,B,C, so I think my natural fighting game knowledge was kicking in 😭
