  • After replacing either the rear discs or the hand brake shoes, you will need to run through the bedding in procedure. It's quite simple, and in this video I show you how. #rangerover #rangeroverbrakes #rangerovertdv8

    Pretty cool! Didn't know this was how the EPB bedding in was done. I've always just assumed that pulling on the EPB while moving would cause some horrible and expensive damage, but I guess that's (partially) what it's there for!

      I tried pulling on the parking brake while travelling, it overrides the whole ABS system and brings the car to a stop. That’s when I thought it best to resort to the manual, and found the correct procedure.

      That was a brave approach just doing it without reading it first 🤣👌

    Thanks for the video! I’m excited to download that manual you mentioned. Thanks for that too. An idea for the next video might need to be cleaning up the interior after having dogs in it. Lol

      Yes, I first went to the site you recommended to where I can buy the Service Manual and that seemed easy enough and very affordable. I then went to the Manual section of your website and was able to view the instructions on servicing my transfer case, for example. Very helpful. I saved your website as a bookmark. I think I was be buying you a lot of beer as I use those manuals. Thanks

      Not sure, I’ll check the manual. I have the manuals available for download on my website (free).

      Exactly the same procedure for the 3.6 mate

    nice, I replaced one of my rear pads years ago and never did this, maybe thats why the brake lights on the dash recently came on and the dash says "check brake pads" too

    • @Bensgarage
      @Bensgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You only need to do this procedure if you have changed your rear discs and/or parking brake shoes. No need if you just changed the pads.

    • @pagepro211
      @pagepro211 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Bensgarage ok thanks but do I need to do a latching procedure instead via a scan tool to get the pads clse to the rotors? I just learned of this today.

    • @Bensgarage
      @Bensgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pagepro211 no, the unmounting procedure, done through a scan tool, is also for the hand/parking brake. The pads will move when the foot brake is applied. Pump the brake pedal, and it will settle the pads. All of this is in the manual, which you can download through my website, if you don’t already have it.
