Been a huge fan of you guys since you rebuilt my shocks on my 900! These videos are next level. Love your willingness to teach and how patient you are! Thanks guys!
Im a guy in the market, and have friends that have sxs, i really appreciate your vlogs, very useful information, and really appreciate all your gifts of experience
These videos are awesome and very informative. Not many industry leaders provide this level of content. I hope you guys keep up the great content and live feeds!
How about a more in depth look at "weak links" of various models? You touched on the inherent geometry problem on the rear of the Talon, so go more in depth on stuff like that.
real travel is because some of the x3's travel numbers happen when the frame would be laying on the ground. the susp would still have up travel left which is not usable at all. Looks great on a spec sheet but is kinda a technicality
I know this video is old, but should I buy a 64" and send shocks to be done up by you guys or buy 72" and leave it stock? I will be on trails in northern utah and sand dunes.
So with a long travel kit would you actually loose clearance at the A arms compared to the high clearance A arms? I see HCR racing has a kit for a Polaris general which I was looking into to rip around Alaska but don’t want to loose to much clearance
Great series guys, learn more thru you videos then ill be able to remember. I do have a question, In your opinion, is there such a thing as "to much ground clearance", I drive a 18' X3 Max Ds(64") after a few adjustments and tinkering Im sitting @ 17" from the ground to the bottom of skid plates, frt and rear. On 32" Tensors. I never felt like it was unstable or top heavy, But I am narrower then I would like it to be. Axle angles seem excessive, is it harmful, Would it be worth it or a wast of time to lower down a bit. I ride 99% AZ deserts and trails (AZ peace trail, back way to Desert Bar type of trails)... Thanks
Joseph Espinosa yes you can most definitely be too tall with it. When they’re up to high you start lose your droop. So when you drive over a small hole in the ground the suspension can’t drop and the entire car will drop into the hole and you feel it more
In addition, with your car specifically I would try to stay in the 15-16" ground clearance range to keep the system in its happy place as far as ride quality and body roll are concerned.
What about if you have your ride improvement system but the rear end bottoms out constantly in the dunes. I’ve set everything up the way you told me to but it still bottoms out.
My 2021 turbo s dynamix, the left front wheel leans in at the top. 1 1/2 narrower at the top than bottom from wheel to wheel. My warranty is almost up. The dealer says its the dynamix suspension doing that and its not a problem. Doesnt matter if its in firm, sport or soft the wheel is tipped in on top on that driver side. The car seems to track fine. Theres no adjustments for me to fix the alignment.... are they being honest about the dynamix suspension causing.... I guess thats camber? Or should I talk to another dealer? And if I cant get any warranty solution for this is there front control arms with adjustable assemblies so that I can align the front end? Stock geometry would be fine... just adjustable
They are full of it. Dynamix does Not control camber. Arms, frame mounts and hub bearings do. If any of those are bent or worn out you will get a camber issue. Good luck👍
@@ShockTherapyllc i figured so, thanks. Never wrecked, never jumped big, never bumped anything. 36 hours on the car. Its had this issue that I noticed at about 5 or 10 hours. Ill try another dealer. Worst case scenario ill change the front end to an adjustable one. Nothings bent or worn out on my car, so its something wrong from the factory.
Is adding a long travel kit to a YXZ that adds width and length to wheelbase worth the money? How much more stability do you gain? I mostly ride dunes, some desert.
I have a 2021 polaris general xp 1000 pursuit edition with fox shocks I've got them turned all the way down and it is still rides rough what can I do to soften it up some
That kit is nice for sure. But, as long as you remember that the long travel is not going to cure all the negatives in the YXZ, then you will love the improvement. Will it get better? Yes. Will it be stronger? yes. Will the car go through anything you want? No.
@@ShockTherapyllc I was also wondering about this. It extends the short wheelbase if I remember correctly. Will that improve the ability to soak up the whoops and/or nose dive?
We don’t rock crawl much so don’t take this as gospel. But, not an advantage. Our rock crawl customers say the width can be an issue on narrow trails where the correct path is burned in by narrow utvs.
Olaf Valdez as far as stock machines go the Polaris is built a little better than the can am, if you’ve got the money to put into the can am to make the frame stronger then the can am is the way to go
i have the rzr pro xp 4 i want the Lonestar long Travel . i am a duner i have the ultimate with the ride control. with the long arms is the valving going to be ok ? i plan on a sway bar upgrade and spring upgrade , and i want turning brakes. can i just order the springs from you guys and sway bar or do you need the whole car or whole shock ? i just live 6 hours from you guys
With long travel springs are a must. Valving is much better but you really need the springs. You can’t run a training brake on your Polaris because it is a spool style rear diff. Turning brake will lock both rear tires no matter what.
@@shocktherapy4820 ty for the info , i went from long travel car to this lil guy . i hit the lil dunes at Johnson and found my self reaching for the turn brake lol . got a bit to learn with these things i guess.
Funny you ask. 4 years ago we put together a sponsor packet for Polaris where we raced a General. It was called "General Dirt" and the "race car" was a cammo General with a gun rack and our fire suits were cammo with hunting safety vests. During the week we would post pics of the General pulling a stump, hauling hay bails, shoveling dirt, hunting, ect. Then on the weekends it would race off road. Sometimes with hay in the bed. Sometimes with a deer on the roof. Just fun stuff. Polaris did not care so we didn't do it. But yet I would race a General. Why not.
So keeping in mind that all the stock cages have to pass stringent government testing to make sure they will save you in a specific roll over, safety is not what I am talking about. Most aftermarket cages are sweet and will be stronger than stock. The look of the cage and car is the biggest advantage. With that being said, if the cage is mild steel and welded poorly than I am out on it. That is rare. Do your homework. Make sure it is a quality cage and then just choose the look you like. As long as it is 4130 tubing and welded properly you will be just fine.
Shock Therapy llc thank you and I like the cage on my x3 so that’s where I’ll stay. That you for that I’ll put the money in the gold upgrade this summer.
correction, don't know why. Wish there were more adjustable arms for the front of UTV's. We actually made the arms on our race car adjustable just for that convenience. The rear is always radius rod adjustable.
how would the average guy or gal roll out of the trails and enter a race. take me for example. I like traveling out of state. now that I have a car (X3) I would like to see if the skills I think I have are real. lol, I think a lot of us would like to enter a race.
Pretty easy. There is usually a rally class in a BITD race. This allows for stock cages, doors and fuel tanks but you do need fire suppression and nets, Ext. So read the rules on it and get the items you need and enter. Tons of fun and you will see if you have what it takes.
These guys sound like they do real engineering on these cars. Good to see REAL mechanics still exist. Keep up the awesome work

Is adding a long travel kit to a YXZ that adds width and length to wheelbase worth the money? How much more stability do you gain? I mostly ride dunes, some desert.
10% better ride quality and stability. i will not fix the typical YXZ buck

I have a 2021 polaris general xp 1000 pursuit edition with fox shocks I've got them turned all the way down and it is still rides rough what can I do to soften it up some
Lower tire pressure first. Then spring kit,. Then shock internal mods. The internal mods are the largest difference.

How quick does the iqs system react when you flip the switch?
Just the same as if you were manually adjusting the clicker on the shock. IQS is an electronic, remote compression adjuster. Instantaneously.
Does the iqs default to the stiff side like the dynamics?
No. It defaults to the setting you last had it in including before you shut off the car
