All good tips! While feeding baby at the breast with the feeding tube, regulate the flow of the bottled milk by adjusting the height of the bottle. Hold it lower so baby doesn't get it too quickly, thereby reducing the time spent on the breast. Hold it lower if baby is loosing interest before having eaten enough. EDIT: Sorry the second tip should have said HIGHER. Longer and more frequent feeds are best. Change sides often to help establish supply. Compress the breast (cup hand under, thumb on top, closer to the chest wall and squeeze firmly) during a feed to encourage breast milk to flow.
And then there are ladies on the lactate WhatsApp support group I'm on, that says things like it doesn't matter what you eat it doesn't influence milk production, they are so silly! I fully believe certain foods help you make more milk and better quality milk

What a great question! If you can pump during your breaks and at lunch, even if it’s just for 10 minutes, you could really increase your milk supply. A single manual hand pump is all you need. Or you can try hand expressing with a Haakaa pump! I have videos on hand expressing and pumping as well as other ways to increase your supply here 👉🏾 th-cam.com/play/PLQtARHIuIBzl6resm8Iyb28KbbkSsqz1Q.html
How often do we pump and nurse to relactate? My nipples are chapped and bleeding so I only get 10-13 feeds/pumps in a day. Is that enough or do I need to do more? I'm discouraged. It keeps the baby fed, you can also instead of the formula give your pumped milk through the tube. So you don't risk making baby loose weight/be hungry. But by giving it to the baby with the tube on the breast you get stimulation from baby sucking and the baby is removing whatever milk you have so it will increase your supply.
Has anyone tried the fenugreek and had issues ? I just had my baby and after amonth start fenugreek to get my supply up as I had to start giving formula and after about a week my baby had tons of gas and started getting pretty fussy
Please help me!!! I’m trying so hard to get more milk. I am re-lactating. I would at least put baby one breast once before bed when i started back. So I could at least give her whatever I’m getting. When I pumped I did get a little bit not a lot but when I pump now I’m not getting a lot but after I pump I hand express and I’m definitely getting some. Any tips or help? Even after nursing her I’d get some when I hand express.
Hey Moll! Sounds like you’re doing a lot of great things to increase your milk supply! How often does baby nurse? How often do you pump? May I ask why you use a nipple shield while nursing?
@@KarmaKennedy when I first started breastfeeding she really hurt my nipples lol So I stopped breastfeeding for a week when she was around a week old and started back up after that a week later. I stopped pumping and just would put her on my boob at night before bed but also she would take a bottle of formula afterwards. So since I’m actually staying home now I want to do it more. I’ve been putting her on my boob more for the past 2 days and tried pumping and only getting a little milk. I saw your power pumping video btw are you pumping regularly after you power pump that for 20-30 mins maybe two or three hrs after you power pump? I’ve never done the power pumping so I want to get the idea of it. My daughter will nurse on me for a hour- hour in a half. Sitting down for that long kills me tbh lol so I’m wanting to pump. I’m so sorry for this long reply lol
@@molltidwell2524 no need to be sorry! I love getting the details it gives me a full picture! Sounds like you and baby need to work together on getting a good deep latch. If baby is nursing that long it’s because she’s not getting good milk flow. It’s like she’s drinking through a pinched straw and getting frustrated. PLUS, nursing that long would definitely make for sore nipples. I have a video on getting a good latch that should help. Start by power pumping once per day first thing in the morning when you wake up. I have a pumping routine video that will definitely help you get started. Then you want to pump every 2-3 hours until you go to bed. Your goal is to empty your breasts as often as possible which signals your body to make more milk. Put baby on the breast for 10 minutes before you pump. Then pump for ten minutes. Wait a few hours and rinse and repeat. I have a few good tools for feeding baby formula while latched on the breast Check out this playlist for tips on correcting baby’s latch, hand expressing, pumping routines, relactation and more th-cam.com/play/PLQtARHIuIBzl6resm8Iyb28KbbkSsqz1Q.html
You’re the sweetest thank you so much! I definitely want to keep doing it even if she’s getting a little bit. I appreciate you so much. I’ll definitely do that and try the fenugreek like you suggested.
It’s ok if baby won’t latch right now, and you might be able to encourage them to start to latch with the feeding tube method. That combined with hand expressing and / or a good pumping routine will still help to get milk flowing. You can find the feeding tube method here th-cam.com/video/WV3EhPHEStw/w-d-xo.html
I saw your video for powerpump, 10 minutes pump then rest but for me it takes 2 minutes for milk to come so should I still do the same , 10 minutes pump means 5 minutes each breast
Great question! It’s actually 10 minutes on one side, rest, 10 minutes on the other side. You keep doing that for a whole hour or so. The goal is to empty both sides. The more empty the breast is the more it will make. Hope this helps! How old is baby? 😊💛
