Joel Fuhrman, MD: Combating Obesity and Treating Disease with a High Nutrient Dense Diet

  • Dr. Fuhrman was the featured speaker at the co-sponsored NW VEG-Adventist Health annual Plant Based Nutrition Health Conference, September, 2014.
    Joel Fuhrman M.D. is a board-certified family physician, author, and nutritional researcher specializing in prevention and reversal of disease using nutrient dense foods. He is a nationally recognized author of 7 books on nutrition and health, including 3 New York Times best sellers.
    His message is that the physical and emotional effects of hunger undermine weight loss efforts. People on a standard diet typically experience withdrawal from pro-inflammatory foods, whereas a high-nutrient diet can lead to a sustainable eating pattern for successful weight loss and improved health. Higher nutrient density produces greater satisfaction with less craving for fat and high calorie foods.

    I lost 184 pounds. Fuhrman saved my life. Of all his ideas I followed, the tip which worked best and easiest for me was eating one or two entire clear plastic tubs of organic dark leafy greens per day without anything poured on top. From 352# to 167# without hunger or effort or exercise.

They have done themselves harm because i have no faith in them any more. God bless to you and your family, and thankyou for caring. Best wishes from Anne 😀🍅🥝🍏🍉🍓🎵🍇🥑🍒🍍🥭🥦🥕🧅

    Whenever I find myself a little astray from my WFPB diet, I always listen/watch Dr. Fuhrman. It’s like giving myself a parental lecture and it knocks me right back on track. I absolutely love his sense-of-humor! I just adore this man. What an absolute treasure he is and I feel such a deep sense of gratitude towards him.
    This is a stellar TH-cam channel as well; just discovered it. I typically listen to Dr. Fuhrman on The Real Truth About Health but it seems this TH-cam channel has more frequent content.

    The body doesn't know which carbohydrate is different once you eat it. They're all the same. SUGAR. They all go into the same hole regardless of slow or rest. The only difference is "fructose or glucose" but they're both fast. Don't eat it.
    The only sugar necessary for the body is glucose and it needs only a teaspoonful at any one time. 4mg in the bloodstream, the rest is excessive. That includes all the cokes and cakes you eat. Fructose is fifty% of the sugar you eat and in all the fruit and it's what causes fatty liver. It's what makes people very, very ill. All cereals are made up of both sugars, glucose makes you fat and fructose gives you fatty liver. Look out, type 2 and heart disease here we come.

    • @kh485
      @kh485 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Mono diets like potato diets have shown to be effective for weight loss for many months or even years. Potatoes, in particular, seem to provide trace amounts of micro nutrients to get by for long periods. Tho spike in blood sugars may be unfavorable particularly for the overweight. Dr. Fuhrman‘s focus is for comprehensive micronutrient adequacy. He wants you to include colorful fruits and vegetables and all the G BOMBS for their salient properties.
