Peter looks like a jobbing plasterer, just finished work, slung a bass round his neck, and given it his all. He is a fkn legend, untouched by ego, ignoring his contribution to music, just giving everything he has got. Imagine the pride of your son, playing your bass lines, riffs familiar to the whole of the world. Huge respect.
❤ I'll be 62 this year, a lifetime of Hookys bassline.
Peter Hook is the New Order soul. He's the best
Peter and the Light keeps Joy Division alive, after four decades. Thanks Peter. Ian deserves it.
🖤
Wished New Order played their songs like this instead of revamping them. This is why I enjoyed seeing Peter hook and light more than I did seeing new order back in October
Agree. Saw Hooky and NO. Bernie has Long Covid apparently and At the Hollywood Bowl sounded real bad. Hooky? He brings it and plays the deep cuts we all want. Lonesome Tonight? all day long!!
If Hooky isn't in your top 5 all time bass players....you really need to check yourself. Fucking BRILLIANT!!!!
Correct!
I love that he gets nervous singing the Ian songs. He knows hes not the best but he gives 100% every fucking time!!!
É INEGÁVEL que HOOKY ainda tem muito a criar, produzir e tocar nessa vida! Longa Vida Hooky ❤ 🇧🇷 Essa atmosfera você não sente nos atuais shows do New Order. É triste escrever isso mas é fato.
Meu amigo vc poderia explicar para um leigo ..no caso eu...porque hooky canta nas duas bandas New order e The light....qual a diferença das duas..apenas o hooky eh do New order? E porque ele canta as músicas do New order.. desculpa minha ignorância eh q não conhecia hook e The light .😮
O The Light é uma banda cover de todo o catálogo do Joy Division e do New Order.
If you have the opportunity, I encourage Joy Division/New Order fans to see Peter Hook and the Light live. We have been lucky enough to travel the world following Hooky and the Light around and just can't get enough. I recently heard Bernard Sumner's New Order do a version of Atmosphere and I would not travel to my local General Store (500 metres from home) to see them - it was just abysmal. Hooky is Joy Division/New Order. Can't wait till May 2024 to see them again in Sydney and twice in Melbourne! Keep touring Hooky - as you do!!!
Peter Hook has never said that he could sing, but he does a great job of it, better than Barney these days by a long way. Peter Hook plays with passion & plays the smaller venues which is awesome
That's what it's all about. The true soul of it.
After all this time , after all these years , so many styles and music genres have come and gone , After so many bands have had their time in the limelight and slowly faded away and forgotten about , these joy division tracks still today sends shivers down my spine , I’ve probably listened a million times and still they get to me emotionally and physically. They sound as fresh today as the day they were written , hooky’s bass playing is just stunning , Ian is looking down and incredibly proud , I wrote that !!!
The music of my youth too, in far away North Queensland, Australia, at the time. Some of these songs just grab at you. Definitely a bit teary through some of these. So happy to still hear them being played live.
@@gazinbris they touched the world !! Hello and god bless to you in far away beautiful Australia 👍👍
Saw them in Chicago and the guitar player / singer of Bernard’s parts was AMAZING.
I find I prefer watching Peter Hook over New Order, he's more faithful to the original sound and and recording.
Seen them 10 times in past 6 years and they get better every time. If you've not seen them, make sure you catch them on the 2024 tour. You will not be disappointed.
Going to see them here in Seattle for the first time. If I can’t secure tix I’ll try Vancouver B.C.!
Hooky is the spirit and flame keeping alive The music of Ian Curtis. It's just so much better that the pastiche that the other new order have become. The Light are a great band and fantastic to see live.
Agreed 😊
Spot on
Dude knows what people came for, and nailed it. Props.
Joy Division! Best band in my Opinion. Hope when the war is over Peter Hook and light can come play in Kyiv 😁. Love from Ukraine 🇺🇦
Slava Ukraine! 🩵💛 love from Illinois USA!
Its like the spirit of Ian is in Hooky!
Hands down the best live version of True Faith is with Peter Hook and the Light
Please never retire Hooky!! Please keep endlessly touring as you do!! You bring endless joy to your fans - thank you - muchas gracias! Thrilled you returning to Australia!!!
I was there, brilliant performance, one of the best live acts ive seen❤
Peter Hook fans in the house 🎶🎶
The passion and energy -- an apt standard bearer in presenting the legacy of Ian Curtis to yet another generation of fans.
Hook’s vocal improves considerably and now I prefer his performance to New Order’s. And David Potts sounds better than Bernard as both vocalist and guitarist. He’d sing a few more New Order songs, so we’d see Peter Hook play more bass.
The lighting for this show was fantastic.
Peter, it seems like you play every song like its the last time you'll ever play it again. Absolutely brilliant class you all are! Thanks for the memories brother!!
GUITARIST IS JUST SO ON POINT IT'S CRAZY- fekin amzing ;)
So agree! David Potts gives Barney a serious run for his money. Amazing live.
Thanks for been here with me for 40 years in all my music journeys.
FOREVER JOY DIVISION 🖤
Come to Brazil again,please 🙏🏾
We are coming to Brazil in August. www.peterhookandthelight.live
better than the current New Order lineup
Love how he dedicated it to Andy Rouke, Rip Andy a great bass player.
Watching this, I'm already hyping myself for Auckland next weekend
Wellington show last night was ON FIRE!!
@@fordlova8 now I'm even more hyped for Saturday night here in Auckland.
Killer set as usual, Hooky! Only missing the Perfect Kiss!
I like his version of “Your Silent Face” myself.
@@JonathanMcCormack aye, he opened up his set last September with Your Silent Face and Elegia. It was fantastic.
We only like to play the 9 minute long 12 inch version and when you only have a 45 minute set at a festival it’s too long to play.

F*****g love u Peter !!!
Dang Hooky still looks great
Merci beaucoup Peter Hook and The Light 😊🤩😍🎶
Peter's voice has held up better than Bernard's.
Totally agree they were fantastic at Reading this year.
Indeed it has🖤🖤
His vocals on Movement were excellent.
You’re all drunk and/or in denial.
Thank you Peter Hook and the Light. The band is a dream come true for Joy Division/New Order fans!! We have seen you x2 Melbourne, x3 Manchester and have tickets and can't wait to be in the Lausanne and Strasbourg audience - just total joy!!! WOW - Thrilled you will be in Australia in 2024 - see you in Sydney and Melbourne in May 2024!!
3rd time coming up. ....bottom of the world in Christchurch, New Zealand......with my son!! Can't wait Hooky !!!!
I caught this show in Atlanta a few years ago. I was an absolute 50 year old fanboi. His band is so tight and such a superb show 🖤🖤Peter Hook and the Light is the incarnation that had to happen.
I'm sold... will attend next gig. Well done.
Can’t wait to see you… www.peterhookandthelight.live
Saw Peter Hook a couple of years ago, much better than New Order these days. Go see Peter!
Me too!
Paul Kehoe rocks!Jack Bates is impressive, like his father... Love from Brazil! Waiting for you, guys! 🤩
Ceremony beautiful song , rip Ian we never forget yu
always amazing seeing hooky live, the energy, the homage to the original material. never disappoints
Peter Hook & The Light = Joy Division🔥🎸🤘
No Ian Curtis rip Ian
nope
Bravo, shame it wasn't longer......music from our adolesence
I Love Peter Hook. He is such a legend.
Ian Curtis, Rob Gretton, Tony Wilson, Martin Hannett R.I.P... Love ya, Hooky. Keep it going, brother... 👌👍✌️
I will definitely be attending the hollywood palladium show. I had no idea these Joy Division songs were still being played by an original member
Superb set superb performance
Absolutely magic stuff. The set list - amazing. I couldn’t hit the like, hell no, the LOVE button fast enough. Great to see Jack back in the band again. Hoping you guys make it back down under to Australia very soon.
I am beside myself with having tickets to the Bexhill gig. So excited! It will be a very special moment for me and my boyfriend, who met through a shared love of Joy Division. Can’t wait to see Hooky and the boys live 🎸
I found out about the Bexhill gig last night and got a ticket immediately.
See you in May in Sydney !
Incredible back catalogue between the two bands. Hooky does them both justice. Great band.
A brilliant set...great to hear JD songs again...
Nice to hear those iconic songs being performed live in front of a large crowd again. And the New Order ones sounded half-decent n'all.
It's impressive, how Hooky sings and plays these Joy Division songs with such passion. Even more so after Andy Rouke's death. Hooke is unique, he has so much passion, he has soul when playing and singing on stage, and that is unique. Great and long live Hooky !!!!!!!!
Hooky returns to South America, here there is passion, here there is soul in what one feels.
Hooky is the bomb.
Saw them last Friday in Liverpool, sublime :)
Utterly brilliant
Superb. Hooky wins hands down.
See u in Oberhausen / Germany. We r so happy and glad to hear the sound of Joy Division. They changed my life since i was 13
Do we have any "Warsaw" fans in this tent? Any "Stiff Kittens" fans??
Hook / Bates / Potts .. what a wonderful combination ! So much better than NO
I’ve seen PH&TL a few times over the years, and I think Hooky’s been sneaking in some voice lessons when he’s off the road. His voice seems to have gotten stronger, with more control.
I've only seen PH&TL once (last April) but comparing what I saw and the later videos, I definitely agree.
Just f…ing brilliant … sent shivers through my whole body !!
That's why you love Mexico, everybody are jumping your song. Great Playlist!! God bless you and your band. 🎉🎉🎉❤
I think they should bring back TOTP and let Peter and the Light do the Blue Monday rendition live, simply they can do a better version live
There is new order and then there is this
Probably the most authentic Joy Division sound. And Hookies voice is not dissimilar to Ian Curtis. I’ve gone off New Oder since he left them. I know the replacements in New Order have been there a long time, in fact one was there when Hooky was still with them. However for me they will never be the original New Oder.
Looking forward to your concert in Switzerland 🎸
Quality ❤️ see you in Belfast soon 😎🎸
One of the great Bass players of a generation.
Thanks Hooky! Nice one.
He signed Closer for me! legend
Great guitar solos in Shadowplay. Love the few extra bars added in the last solo.
Since Monaco, Peter and David knew they could be New Order without being New Order, they had a plan, and this is it.
Damn fine performance! Hooky still got it folks!!!
Love this. I'm going to the Toronto show next year ( and I live in NC).
Totally worth it🎉
Temptation sounds amazing! Always sounds great live. Shadowplay my favorite from JD.
excellent! kept a copy from the Sky Arts broadcast. Can't wait for KK's in October :o)
Hooky puts so little effort into being cool, it actually makes him cooler.
Thanks for all
Brilliant
I remember seeing a clip of Andy Rourke playing She's Lost Control in one of his DJ sets and saying that it was his favorite JD song. Great homage to him by opening with it.
f’ing GOAT. A living legend.
Great job from the whole band on Transmission. That’s right up there with the original tv performance. Ian would have been proud.
Surprisingly got emotional at your response. Ty.
Fantastic and full of passion after all these years. See you in NL in November...
The 80’s just so epic.. NO, Cure, Smiths, Inxs, pure bliss
Hookey and the band are killing it
Simply superb. Went to the show at The Danforth last August in Toronto Only regret was not going to the 2nd show! Hooky and Jack are of course incredible, as is the entire band, but man David just rips the guitar riffs to perfection, tighter than Bernard? ...maybe!
awesome sir ......brilliant all the guys where awesome....pity i couldnt be there in person
Hello from Leigh!!
When I was a kid I was a metalhead (still am, if I'm honest...) and my brother was into all the college stuff like Joy division, new order, the wedding present etc. So, with the laws of sibling rivalry, of course I didn't care much for said bands... point is, I've never listened to joy division songs whilst stoned... I gotta say this is cool as fuk!! Nice one! Xx
Amazing! See you in Poland!
awesome bass playing ....its a mean operation sir
Class. Fact.❤
stunning music and Ian lyrics. I feel privilege I get know the piece of Britt culture
This is bloody brilliant❤
It s hard to tell who s the bigger diva Sumner or Hook. Don t care at the moment. This sounds fantastic! And two basses! Always cool!
Got tickets for York next year
@jmancali have tickets for Hook next year (in Australia) So jealous you got to to see the Cure this year, hoping they will come back to Australia soon.
Saw him in Strasbourg, it was uncredible thanks a lot Peter to still lighting our way after more than 40 years
