    Exactly what I was looking for. Knowing how lures move underwater completely changes how you fish.

    Very cool.. I like pulling my new baits around me in the water just to see how they swim. That way I know how to retrieve them and also make sure the bait is on the hook correctly and swimming nicely and not just football spiraling. Great video to show off how the different baits swim with different retrieves.

    Thanks for another great video! I need to give those Egrets a try. A retrieve I like to do is reel (3-4 cranks), then pause for a split second, then reel - if there are trout around that pause will always trigger a reaction strike!

      People have thought of it. All through the 90's every fishing trade show in Australia had a perspex tank where you could see lure action underwater.
      Oh you mean people from America. Yeah they're 30 years behind the rest of the world again. What a surprise.

    Thanks for your videos my wife and I are new to fishing and kayaking, and are learning plenty from your videos. We appreciate you sharing your knowledge with the public. We have not caught any fish on lures yet or had a great day catching bigger reds or trout but we know our day is coming. We fish mainly between Aransas Pass and Port A and in Bayside. We are learning our way around by using goggle maps and the hook n line maps as you recommended. Once again we appreciate your sharing your knowledge!!

    I love the saltwater assassin line. I do very well with them on speckled trout and bass. The are very sensitive and even a little motion causes the tail to go nuts. I use to use DOA but you need a lot of motion to get the tail moving.
    I kinda like to work my paddle tails slowly tho. Only downside is they tend to tear up pretty badly by the 3rd to 4th fish.

    I never used artificial bait before, but I will try. One question. I didn't see any lead, or something heavy linked in line, Its look that you used just a hook and bait, Iam right?

  • @Gabriel14890
    @Gabriel14890 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Quick question, and it may be a dumb one but I am just now switching from live bait to lures, and I was wondering when you switch lures do you just remove the lure from jighead or do you remove the whole jighead with the lure and put a new set up on?

  • @jimtaylor6930
    @jimtaylor6930 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    There is another one that shows some of the same stuff in a pool
    But what would make it really good and informational is to show it in a pool with waves and in a kayak for those that have a kayak ,to give a more realistic conditions on how it is done. For the ones that have kayaks only way of getting on the water
    Just no one has done one yet that I have seen with realistic conditions . A swimming pool is ok but no substitute for the real thing
    Where to a pool with waves would be better ideal way to demo the ways of doing the baits

    Cool.
    I like doing upwards light twitches while retrieving as it mimics a wounded baitfish.
    I like that last paddletail with the heavy tail.
    It looks like something you could provide a very slow presentation with, which I do in the hottest & coldest days.
    You have a link of that lure?
    I have some of those bladed jigheads (BAAD marine & Norton) that let me slow way down.
    But I think the intense vibration the blades give tend to intimidate predators more than entice them.
