yeah brother I appreciate the information I hooked up on this she dog and the she dog pup 23 inch spec and a 24 inch spec and I did hook up oh a red but I lost him had a bunch of blows up. The lure knocked out of the water one time I sure do like these lures appreciate it brother and you are right about that rhythm it worked out for me I'm fixing to go get into a tournament hopefully I'll place I'll give you heads up on it preciate it and keep on fishing kayak style
Great work.. Isn't it funny how a black topwater at night is best?? haha... I can't say I know of a lure that comes with decent hooks. At least not the ones I buy. I almost always change out the hooks after the first use (usually on new style lures I like to see if they are even worth the change out before i do it). Thanks for the detailed info.
Will u make a video of how you retrieve topwater lures while wade fishing? I have trouble with my top water getting tangled, and its a tough retrieve while wade fishing. Please help.. thanks
Thx Drew. I've heard about casting dark colors at nite but I still don't understand how that could be effective when it is totally dark. Wouldn't the noise/action still be the factor of catching fish in the darkness?
Texas Redfish Hunter thanks man..this is going to be my first weekend trying topwater and I will be on a kayak lol..(wish me luck) What do you think about the she pups?..and do you have any recommendation on weather conditions for the she pups or does it really matter?
hey I'm pretty late to the video but I have important question. if you have or if you could do you know to the tactical pro angler clips for changing your lure fast, is that okay to use for topwater walking the dog
I don't really like those things, and have seen many fail causing lost lures and fish. Some people swear by them and love them, and in theory the ability to quickly change lures is awesome. It's just not for me, I much prefer to tie a loop knot.
@@RedfishHunter thanks, since its starting out I'm going to use them because I wont have the normal Fishermans gauge on what to use, I was just wondering if the make the topwater sink to much
Hey, I'm new to your channel but I see that your near the Corpus area. Do you ever fish Lighthouse Lakes Trails? I fish that area fairly often, or basically anywhere near the Aransas channel. It'd be cool to meet up with ya sometime, I'm a kayaker as well!
I fish all along the Texas coast, mostly Galveston and sometimes down in Corpus area as well. I don't fish the lighthouse lakes very often, but I know at times the fishing can be decent there. Maybe I'll run into you sometime, if you ever see me come say whats up!
great info. just one thing i do think the color matters during the bright of the day. imo. other than that great job and keep up the great work. tight lines
Zoffinger painted one bright red and caught fish. I've never just changed color and caught fish when one color wasn't working. Just from all my personal experience I don't believe it matters. But again that's just my opinion and my experience
Yes please do a retrieval video!!!! And keep up the good work man can't wait to see some more videos
will do, thanks brother
JOEY ALLENGER
Diego Aldana yes
I just tried out the lure at 6:39 at night and caught my biggest speckled trout ever on top water thanks for the tip texas redfish hunter
i would get so much from you showing your technique on top water retrieval . thumbs up !!!!
My grandfather used to tell me that if you ain't learning you're probably getting dumber. So, that's a yes on the new technique video.
lol
Hey man, appreciate the tips on topwater lires. I myself have several and prefer the she dog. Can't wait for your next vids...Tight lines never stop!
nice info. and tips. did not know that high pitch lures would work on high winds. will try it out, thanks
funny how we have the same favorite soft plastic and topwater. I grew up throwing top dogs and bass assassins so it's kindof a nostalgic thing
Thanks for sharing your experience and advice. Keep up the awesome work!!
Any videos on a beginner rod and reel for red fish and trout fishing?
Thanks a lot for the video preciate all the information and your experience love your video keep on doing more videos man appreciate it
Love top water. This was great info, thanks!

Top water retrieve video is a go!
been waiting for a video like this thumbs up drew
Good advice, thanks for sharing!
What brand hooks, size are you using to replace the old ones with?
Do you have better luck with topwater lures at certain part of the year versus another
Great video as usual. Thanks for all your efforts.
I'd like to see your top water retrieval techniques
thanks for the tips drew
Top water retrieve video please I have never been successful with top water. Thanks
Killer videos , thanks for all the great information!
Good video and yes I would to see a b video how you retrieve your top water while in a seated postion.
If you have a snap swivel at end of your mainline can you hook it directly onto your lure for quick exchanges to find the best option?
can you do a vid on the retrieval for submerging top waters? like the paul brown trolling lures, and other submerging top waters
Can you do a retrieval video on this top water for kayaks I would really appreciate it thanks

At what point do you decide it's too windy/choppy to use a topwater on an overcast day?
Will u make a video of how you retrieve topwater lures while wade fishing? I have trouble with my top water getting tangled, and its a tough retrieve while wade fishing. Please help.. thanks
When trying to figure out what the fish want, how long do you stick to a lure before switching to a different lure? Thank you
I was just about to ask this same question. Did you happen to find out the answer?
good video. thought we would hear some talk on the whopper plopper. the retrieve would be nice to see.
haven't used the whopper plopper enough to have an opinion on it yet
I would like to see the retrieve video..
Thx Drew. I've heard about casting dark colors at nite but I still don't understand how that could be effective when it is totally dark. Wouldn't the noise/action still be the factor of catching fish in the darkness?
Yeah, noise and action is exactly what they are hitting. At night baits look dark, so its more just for matching the hatch then anything.
What replacement hooks do you like for the Top Dog?
Just wondering what size trebles you replace the SheDog hooks with. TIA!
Video on top water lures retrieving.
Great Tips and Vid Bro!!!! Thanks
do you recommend a time of year or time of day to us top water?
Spring through fall, early morning, late afternoon or night, or cloudy overcast days
What hooks do you like to replace the orginal ones with?
thanks for the tips. I think you should go wave fishing for bull reds
Drew ..other than the difference in pitch frequencies what is the difference between the top dog, she dog and she pup?..
size, those go big to small
Texas Redfish Hunter thanks man..this is going to be my first weekend trying topwater and I will be on a kayak lol..(wish me luck) What do you think about the she pups?..and do you have any recommendation on weather conditions for the she pups or does it really matter?
On your leader line, do you loop knot straight to the lure or a quick release adapter? Would it make a difference?
If you use a quick clip you wouldn't need to loop knot it, but I don't personally recommend them, and I never use them
Great video.
Do you have a designated rod and reel for every type of lure you throw? Example-top water, spinner, jig, pop & cork etc...
Kind of, yeah. I have particular rods that I throw particular lures on to maximize action, cast distance, accuracy, etc.
Texas Redfish Hunter thanks for the reply.
yes retrieval video. that would help alot

really loving your chanel man
Love that reel! I just bought one
Thought you said you were going to do a recap
good catch!!!!! on the canoo.!!!!!!!!!
Great Tips Bro...
so i fish from shore, could i still be successful using soft plastics and top water baits fishing from the bank?
if you're in the right spot yeah
Awesome video
Please make video on how to retrieving these
Do you ever use Corkys and if so do you use the same rod/reel setup?
yeah in the winter, I like a 6'8 medium light fast tip
Are you using the lighter soft-dines with that rod or the heavier original ones too?
did you ever make a video on retrieval
How do you attach the liter to the main line?
let's see that retrieve bruh! Especially from the yak
great info. just one thing i do think the color matters during the bright of the day. imo. other than that great job and keep up the great work. tight lines

Yeah Buddy- Please show yur technique.
What do you do with your she dogs when they lose all of their paint.
Keep throwing them! Bone base still works
Please do a retrieval video!
Love Topwater
have you had any luck with yo- zuri glass minnows 3d
Paris Cruz badass lure, I catch big speckled trout and red drum on em’
nice lures!
Does Cora have her own channel?
how about a top water popper ?
walking baits work much better in my opinion
I like the heddon that looks like a whopper plopper at night
Hi
Don’t do fluoro. Just keep it straight braid. If you use a fluoro leader it’s going to drag the nose of the bait down
I get strikes on my top waters.....just no commitments...... :/
they should hook themselves. Change your hooks
topwater retreive vid bruh
I honestly dont think florocarbon matters
It keeps the bait from getting tangled in the braid constantly which is a pain, but you don't have to use it to be successful
Texas Redfish Hunter ohh i got you lol im a mono guy
Flouro sinks and will not be good for your action on top waters. You should be using a mono leader or just stay with braid.
can't tie a loop knot with braid. and only 18" of line doesn't make the line sink. I like flouro for its strength.
