Drew Clapp I’m just saying. Also, the 80’s saw MTV, something that really accelerated the dumbing down of mainstream music. A lot of 80’s music was god awful hair metal or cheesy pop that hasn’t aged well. My point is that the 80’s were the beginning of the downfall of mainstream music, a fall that still continues.

So I was crying my eyes out because the trip I was planning to take to visit my girlfriend got cancelled because of the coronavirus alarm. While I was scrolling for something to cheer me up this is what came out. I am once again extremely grateful to Bernie and Elton for creating this song that helped me so much during the hardest times.
One of the best things about this incredible band (don’t forget the vocalists and Ray Cooper who are killing it too), is how much fun they’re all having. As if they’re all keenly aware of how perfect their lives are at this moment.
So so much talent in one man. Elton is great. I'm glad he got help and is finally happy with a family. Well deserved. It is a miracle your still with us Elton.❤❤❤👍👍👍😂😂😂
The transition from Bbmaj to Bbmin just before the chorus with the walking bass line is one of the best things i `ve heard in rock`n`roll music...ever.
Sir Elton backed up by Phil Collins on drums and Eric Clapton on lead guitar?! Good Golly Miss Molly!!!! Amd Elton with the bravado and panache to parade around the stage in suuuuch control!!! Legendary.
One of the best and most memorable vids from my big hero Elton, in my opinion. GREAT quality! And the wonderfull band, Eric Clapton, Mark King, Midge Ure, Phil Collins; it's heavenly! Thanx for posting Philip!

The intro is so great I almost regret there's a full band to play with him.. I wish I could hear a piano/voice version of this from this period. I saw his Cannes 2019 version and it' still a killer. This being said.. the band is great, the cameos funny and the whole thing is powerfully impressive.

Simplesmente maravilhoso, essa apresentação do Elton , com a participação luxuosa de Eric Clapton e Phill Colins, fica para ETERNIDADE! e o aos backing vocals, um espetáculo a parte!! Sensacional!!
The tone is starting to deepen and get rough from the cocaine use and overwork. But the range is still there. Even that would be gone a few months later and once Elton had the operation to fix the damage, his voice was never the same again.
Literally perfection. He sounds identical, if not better, to his recorded studio work. There will never be anyone like him. Such raw, visceral vocals. I also love how much is taken away when he steps away from the piano. He's fucking DESTROYING that piano. KILLER.
It's really different now. Young people hardly ever buy instruments now at days. On one hand I get it because why spend so much money when you can just make music in a computer but on the other hand it's very sad that all this beauty is going away.
The key presses from the Steinway are connected the the Yamaha DX7 via midi (you can see it mounted to the left side of the piano), so he’s still technically playing a Yamaha also :)

To me, this has to be Elton’s greatest performance of “I’m Still Standing”.
I could listen to it all day.
Australia 1984 was the best performance of this song. Backing vocals don’t work here.
One of his fastest lol... I think at one point Phil was having trouble matching on drums. Wow 💕
100th like
YES THIS IS THE BEST VERSION
I would say this and Wembley 1984, love the rasp on that one. The modern version sound a bit too much like the studio version and less rock-like
Awesome! Eric Clapton on guitar and Phil Collins on the drums.
Phil Collins is the best drummer in my book, shame he can't drum anymore.
@@christianbeard7001 i agree! In his prime, Phil was the greatest drummer ever
Dino The TRex Better than Bonham?
Really really didnt realize that? 💪💪💪
and Mark Knofler
Damn, his control of the piano is incredible. You can feel the drastic change of the song whenever he's playing the piano and when he's not.
he fills the song, it sounds so empty without his playing ! ofc is also part the arrangment but to play that and sing and perform pfuuuu
Elton on piano and vocals, Eric on guitar, and Phil on Drums, can’t get any better than this
Imagine Paul McCartney on bass :0
Mark King from Level42 on bass

Mark Knopfler on guitar too
Should be Nigel on drums and Davey on guitar. Just my opinion. I'm a 51years longtime fan of My Main Man Elton. I'm STILL STANDING. YEAH,YEAH,YEAH!

YES! That was Howard Jones!
Anfield Official he’s only got a few songs though, like that one about the crocodiles
Who's the guy on the piano?
They were really playing music in that era. Real music !!... I really miss it. Is not possible not to love this guys.
Elton gives it all he's got every show. He was at his top here and maintained it quite a long time too. He indeed is still standing.
Cocaine was involved for 16 years and a lot of it!
That's why he should be respected. He came out of this alive and thriving while others haven't.
