We just bought the OLM 3 today! We are super excited and can't wait for it to get here! We considered both of these. Cost + safety features + compatibility gave the OLM 3 the win. Probably get an xTool D1 pro 20 Watt later on. SUPER EXCITED!!!
Obviously I prefer ortur's machines, although they don't update their machines as fast, but their machines are very stable, my OLM2 has been used for over 2 years and it is still going strong
Thanks for the info. Now, one item that is definitely a difference between the two is the cost. And the cost differences between the major accessories. That is a major factor. Once again, thanks.
I bought Ortur Laser master 3 and love it 😘, I have used it to make many creative gifts for my family, and now I am trying to do a little business with it, please don't hesitate to buy it. haha
I love my laser master 3. Does about 4hours per week every week for the last 3 months without any issues. Mostly cutting MDF and engraving stainless steel jewelry.
Trying to figure out on which laser out there to buy. How does the LM3 engrave the stainless steel? That is one of the main reasons I want to get one but hard to figure out which laser does well for it.
@@michaelabrams8429 I engrave stainless steel at 600 mm/min 80%power 0.05mm resolution and I get nice black engravings on Stainless steel. Nate from the internet also have a video where he engraves stainless steel with the ortur lm3.
I am in the middle of trying to decide which one to purchase. Both are nice machines. I have two questions to determine if I need/want 20w, and also pay a lot more money for the xTool. I understand Ortur is going to come out with a 20w laser, but they haven’t said when. Right now, I am leaning toward 10w and less money, so the Ortur.
se está a tentar decidir, tome cuidado com a fonte de alimentação, uma maquina qualquer ao cortar MDF 3mm ela debita 8 Amperes, não é como eles pintam. esteja atento
hello ... you did not mention the apps that can be used with the mobile phone. Is it possible on both? Are the prices of the extensions also affordable?
Your channel is super helpful but PLEASE improve the audio quality. Cheap lav mic or boom mic will greatly improve it. The noise reduction is super annoying when listening on headphones
I agree. I have since upgraded my equipment as well as post processing. Unfortunately TH-cam does not allow for re-uploading without complete removal and re-listing which isn't feasible. Thanks for the feedback.
Can ANY of these budget lasers cut 0.5 aluminium? I'm wishing to cut 0.5 mm holes along the edge of an A4 sheet of (white painted) aluminium, to form the cover of a journal.
Comgrow just RELEASED a 20Watt Module that can be used with EITHER the xTool AND several Ortur's Including the LM3. So the Power distrinction is NO LONGER a valid point. As of 09DEC.
Hello very nice explanation and great vidéo, their is only one thing i dont get because its in english and i am French. Which one is the best to work on bigger surface. I want to mostly engrave my furniture, like door for console and Big miroir. Thanks you.
Both can cut 3mm just fine. Either would work but the D1 pro is stronger if you get the 20W but honestly either would work at that depth. Just be sure to cut MDF in a well ventilated area as some MDF contains formaldehyde which can be poisonous when laser cut.
It depends on the material you are trying to engrave in. While it can do metal if you are trying to do it fast and better you might want to look into a fiber laser.

I guess Ill buy both to see which one is better

hi, at what settings do you cut 3mm mdf?
@@cemece313 My settings in lightburn is 700mm/min at 70% or 80% power.
@@albertvdm Thank you. Do you use air assist? If so which one?

Nice!! I think this is a good way to start before getting into the BIG machines $$$$$. Which I already pick out!! 🤔
Do they expect to come out with IR Laser attachment?

Great comparison. Thank you!
Thank you. Appreciate that!

Awesome review as always Ryan! Nice one bud ;)
Thank you Sean!
Have you used the IR laser for stool yet? If so will you do a video on the use of it?
So the speed differences what's that say about the xtool 10 n 20 watt Lazer's? Seems they are not what they say they are

Which one is better than the other ? That's the question!
@5:50 you misspeak "Ortur" when bouncing over to the xTool on software.
You are correct. Me dumb. Unfortunately TH-cam doesn't allow edits to videos without re-uploading, They dumb ;)
I have a Glowforge so my main purpose for a laser like this is for engraving powder coated mugs. Which is better?
They can both do it. However I would argue that XTool has the nicer rotary.

I'm wishing to cut 0.5 mm holes along the edge of an A4 sheet of (white painted) aluminium, to form the cover of a journal.
As far as I know they can not. I think the xtool 40W laser claims up to .1mm but I don't know any that claim .5mm

Can 2 Laser Master 3s be properly run at the same time and controlled with a Dell Inspiron 3195 laptop with 1.8 ghtz processor with Lightburn?
I’m sorry but I’m not sure.

The larger work area of the 2 is the XTool D1 Pro with the extension rails.
Which is better for cutting mostly 3mm mdf?
Both can cut 3mm just fine. Either would work but the D1 pro is stronger if you get the 20W but honestly either would work at that depth. Just be sure to cut MDF in a well ventilated area as some MDF contains formaldehyde which can be poisonous when laser cut.
@@BusterBeagle3D Thank you for your answer, I don't have enough budget for 20w d1. I think I will prefer olm3 out of these two.
For the enclosures could you use either one on the machines? If I have an OLM3 could I use Xtool enclosure?
Unfortunately no. The LM3 would not fit in the XTool enclosure because it’s bigger. The XTool D1 should however fit in the LM3 enclosure.
