I just bought a 2024 Saturday. I came home and couldn't get bluelink to work. Call my sales guy sunday to look into it. He couldn't fix it. I came across this video. Try it and it WORKED. Bro you are out here doing GOD'S work.. lol Thanks man.
I tried ans it worked. Previously I saved configuration to USB card, leaving it inserted through the reset process. After resetting it re-read the saved settings and to my knowledge everything down to name and stations was restored. Many thanks!
How does one save the car's "configuration" to a USB device? And then how does the car re-load it after the reset that the Ioniq Guy describes above? If I can do that, I'll try this solution.
Thanks a lot! I've been calling them every week for almost a month, they keep on promising escalation but never get back to me with an update. This reset got it working immediately on my 2024 SEL. Everything except the odometer reading which is still stuck at 15 at the moment, hopefully that will eventually resolve itself.
This video is literally AMAZING. Two certified dealers had no idea how to activate Bluelink. We almost had to drive the car an hour and a half away to get it fixed. I did it myself in 3 minutes!
Oooookay…! I took a deep breath and tried this. It WORKED! I now have Bluelink up-and-running. Finally! Now I just have to figure out how to set my phone as a Digital Key. Thank you, Ioniq Guy, for the guidance!!!
Bought my Ioniq 5 end of January 2024. Couldn’t get bluelink to activate. Had a case open for 8 days and had to keep calling back. Today they told me to bring it into a dealership to fix it but our nearest dealership is 70 miles away. The agent told me it was a software reset. I had already watched this video and assumed this was the same fix. So I just went out to the car and tried it and it worked like magic. Saved me the hassle of going to the dealership. The reset does remove your profiles and map search data, but it’s a small price to pay. Thank you!
I have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow for this, but I'm going to take these instructions with me, thank you so much! This explains a bit how the dealer who sold it to me didn't fix this before handing it over to me 4 days ago.
I just finished doing this and worked perfectly. The expiration date still shows as the day the car was purchased, but other than that it seems fine. You will need to re- pair your phone and re - set saved locations etc. Thanks for getting this info out there.
Bought my 3 weeks ago today, left with Bluelink activated but not connected. I opened a Bluelink ticket almost 2 weeks ago and tried to call 3 dealerships and two didn't answer, one called back and said it would take 3 hours. I finally tried it and worked perfectly. Thank you!
Thank you! Hyundai had been giving me the run-around on this for two months. My local dealership claimed to know nothing about this recall. I tried the fix on my 2024 Ioniq Limited and it worked perfectly.

Blue Link needs cleaned up. We are often swapping profiles. When I hop in the car, the driver seat starts moving to the other drivers position so I tap any of the seat switches to stop movement (no problem). I then choose the correct profile which while it’s loading, the seat then starts to move again so I stop it again as I can tell it’s still trying to load the other profiles position (possibly a mix of the two profiles). I have to wait until it’s fully loaded and animation ends then at that point I press a memory button. Not sure if the fan speed is part of the profile but it’s often not where I set it. The HUD always displays the augmented hard right arrow indicator when loading the profile which again is not a big deal. Going to return to the dealership Monday for the lift gate TSB that apparently is expanding to now include my 2023. They confirmed it wasn’t part of the original VIN set but my guess is they started with the oldest first because they had the most wear on the parts being replaced. The TSB they are using was the washers one. 🤷🏻♂️ They provided the TSB paperwork upon request. I just wish the owner facing service history was as comprehensive as the dealerships records. Would be nice at time of sale to add peace of mind to the next owner. The trip software was ok but knowing I was heading to a DCFC then recalculated to not have enough range (because of preconditioning) and kept wanting to add charging stops before that charging stop. I kept ignoring all the rerouting which the last one was just a few exits away from the DCFC. Once preconditioning stopped because it reach the low SOC it then realized I had enough charge allowing me to arrive at 9%. We need to have the ability to remove added charging stops and agree to single digit SOC arrival as well as calculate the arrival SOC with preconditioning auto stopping at the low SOC. 5:53
2024 I5 owner, Bluelink never worked... So, funny enough, I just went out to the car to do this reset and much to my surprise (and delight) Bluelink is now working-- all on its own! OTA YAY!
Very helpful, and I'd try it, but… I've already got an appointment with my local dealer to fix this Bluelink problem, likely using these same steps. I just hope the process doesn't delete all my settings, as it would be a pain to have to reconfigure the car all over again. Tsk.
Hi. I have exactly the described issue with my 2023 ioniq 5 that I brought from a used car dealer, but the previous owner is still blocking the bluelink. I tried the factory reset, but it didn't remove the old bluelink connection. Do you have any other ideas. BR, Torben
Think you could use your recognition with Hyundai/Kia/Genesis to push for some software requests? Would it be worth creating a poll of best feature requests? I'll start with two: - lock access of the BlueLink config/account screens behind a PIN, so it can be de-registered if the car is stolen and can always be tracked down - add a PIN feature to the car so you can't start it unless you insert the PIN: would prevent some attacks that seem to be proving successful in stealing these cars
Want you to know your videos are great. Got an Ioniq 5 2 months ago. I know you've talked about charging on several videos, wondering if you could help me. I don't drive much so I use the 110 charger which works fine for me. However now that it's getting cold is charges much slower. Does it cost me more if it takes a lot longer in the colder weather? Does the car have some kind of heater to warm the batteries so they charge faster? Thanks
Thanks Rich. Charging on 110V should charge at full speed regardless of temperature. It’s only at higher speeds that the cells need to be warmed to considerably higher temperatures. Have you checked that your 110V charger is still running at 12A and didn’t get changed to charge at say 6 or 8A. If you are spending more time charging to the same percentage though yes you will be spending more as there are charging losses that compound over time.
Thanks I just checked it and where I select the number was blank! It normally is at 12. Thanks I'll make sure it's on 12. I've never gone to a charging station, would the cost of that be more or less that my home charging?@@TheIoniqGuy
My AC charger was at the default 6-amp setting. When I clicked it up to 12, it would sit there blinking for a bit, and then drop back to 6 amps. I finally figured out to hold the button down while it was at 12 amps until it started blinking faster. Then it stayed at 12 amps. Double the speed!
This is interesting. Do you know what expiration date should be showing for those of us with 2024 Ioniq 5s and perpetual BlueLink? As always, thanks for your service to the community!
I would have LOVED to do this in 3 minutes rather than the 3.5 weeks I waited to have Bluelink support fix it remotely. Good to know for next time Bluelink support wastes my time for 3 weeks tho.
I had a case with Hyundai BL for not getting the charging station details after NAV update, wrong expiration date in car and some orange dot on HD radio telling me to contact BL CS for activation. A few weeks after opening the case the charging stations details started to work and 3 days ago I received an email from BL asking me to check if the expiration date on my car is correct now and BL is working. I could confirm that the expiration date is correct now and BL was working (at least for charging station info and whatever else little I use it for) but the orange dot on HD radio screen is not (and I don't know what it's supposed to do). I emailed that info back today. I have a '23 I5 SE.
I recently purchased a 2024 Ioniq 5 SEL and all is great; however, I am unable to link my blue link account to my drivers profile. Does anyone have any troubleshooting suggestions?
I wonder if this will work on a Santa Fe? I bought it new 9/28/23 and Bluelink has never worked. The display shows Bluelink expired the same date--9/28/23.
Umm I had this problem driving off the dealership.. they tried to say it needs remote setting, we just used the little pin in the hole to reset the radio and it connected immediately!
I picked up my ionic six on Monday and everything was working fine. By Monday evening it had done an update and by Tuesday morning the satnav didn’t know where it was. It would appear that the update hasn’t installed properly. Has anyone had this issue before?
I have a 2023 ionic 5. Noticed a huge mileage loss after some cold weather. I'm around 80 miles down from 299. Then when I put the heating on I lose more miles. Don't no what to do 😮 I'm in the uk. Will it go back up itself or do I need to take it in the dealership. I have the 320bhp awd version.
The estimated mileage is based on the efficiency over the last week. Lower temps = less range. More heating of the battery and cabin = less range. What you are experiencing is just how EVs operate.
@TheIoniqGuy so when will it go back up I average 2.4kwh. Ive tried looking online to see what temperature it loses and gained. I'm about 110 miles down from 299
It’ll go back up when temperatures go up and you stop using heating. There’s nothing wrong with your car, it’s doing what it’s supposed to do and estimate how far it can go based on external conditions
Use Eco mode, minimal use of heater/defroster (use the heated seats/steering wheel instead) and SLOW THE FUQ DOWN when you drive. I'm seeing 3.8-4.0 m/kwh here in 50-60 degrees (F) temps even in the rain. I expect it to go over 4.2 when it gets warmer out. Enjoy your car!
Ioniq 5 owner. My Blue link has an expiration date of 11/27/23. I tried this procedure EXACTLY as described, twice, 2 times, and there was no change to my expiration date. But, what made me want to try this is there is no Bluelink account assigned to my car. When I press the Valet Mode on the screen in the car, it tells me there isn't a Bluelink account linked to the car. However, most Bluelink things work fine from my phone to the car. Doing this procedure did not fix this problem.
Ioniq 5 (2022) stopped beeing connective after parking it in an area with bad cell phone coverage... just using a pen and putting it into the reset opening fixed it immediately - no need to erase any settings - it just restarted the infotainment and now it is connective..
