My guess is that US will get the F-18/A as a squadron vehicle, the F-18/C as a tech tree version (after the F-14s), Germany might get a swiss F-18/A, Britain will get a Australian F-18, italy might get a spanish F-18, sweden will get a finnish F-18/A

It has an AN/APG-73 radar and is capable of carrying either 6 Sparrows, or 10 AMRAAMS on the 2 fuselage and 4 under wing hard points (each holding 2). The BR should be 13.7 and should probably fall in the US tech tree as an event or premium vehicle. Unless they add a commonwealth tree which would be preferable. The Australian Hornet was initially the F-18A but was later upgraded to the F-18A+ in Canada during the early to mid 2000s where it received the AN/APG-73 radar, the ALR-67 Radar warning receiver, and a helmet mounted cueing system. Gaijin would have 2 options to add but personally I think they could add both. 1 in the tech tree in a ANZAC sub tree and 1 as a premium, squadron, or event vehicle.
Lets be real. With the way the snail is handling this stuff, we get the F/A 18 As in the winter update and the C in summer. They are dragging this out to by them time, so that they can bring updates till 2030 or so.
Superhornet could be closer than we think if gaijin decides to give us the early block 1 variants which has pretty much the same avionics as a late lot variant of the legacy hornet (lot 20+ i think) pretty much a similar radar or the exact same one and similar flight performance, as the jet is bigger and heavier but also has better engines and bigger leading edge extensions. Though the main issue with balancing a superbug is obviously the fact that it can carry 12 amraams and 2 sidewinders at the same fucking time. 2 sidewinders on the wing tips and 5 amraams on each wing with twin rail lau-127 launchers on the inboard and middle pylons of the wing and a singular launcher on the outboard plus the 2 on the fuselage. Block 2 and 3 are no go's as these have much more advanced avionics like the apg 79 aesa radar.
Italy could also receive as the Spanish f18. The Spanish centauro is already in the Italian tech tree, so if they don’t make Spain a tech tree that could be a good addition to the Italian tech tree
if the F-18 really comes at the end of this year (like it was the last 2 years with good top tier fighters) together with a good russian naval counterpart, then the next update would be the perfect timing finally to add the F-14D. Please holy snail!

Hornet would probably feel more like a delta wing in warthunder because of the leading edge extensions on the fuselage and the relatively mediocre thrust to weight. The jet is notorious for its one circle performance. So probably expect it to not have good energy retention considering how warthunders air rb controls are where you cant control the speed in a 2 circle fight with pitch like you would irl and in dcs because in the game its either max pull on the elevators or no pull at all.
It's also a very good two circle plane from what Ive seen. Some say it has the smallest turning circle in DCS, though that's probably at a slower speed than other fighters.

So The CF 18 is a kind of weird one in a way that they are planning and already upgrading their legacy hornets with different mfds and radar- superhornet radar- so if Brit would get the base legacy it will stay like that till we have something balancing for the upgraded version.

F/A-18D should be added as a Strike Aircraft while the single engine ones are Jet Fighters, as USMC had separate squadrons for All Weather (nighttime) ground attack, called VMFA(AW)-xxx which were entirely composed of F/A-18D.
The RAAF got the initial F/A-18A then over the course of their lives upgraded it to similar levels as the F/A-18C. Later Australian Hornets used ASRAAMs which I'm not sure anyone else did on a Hornet?

And the MICA is good, but nothing game breaking, at least not yet. Granted I'm making a slight mistake on my recollection of the timing. But the Rafale does seem to have a viable platform by the mid-90s so I don't see why we can't start there bit to be fair that may be a bit of a stretch. Now I'm not a Fremch tree player. I have no vehicles in the French tree unlocked so this isn't a French main decrying game bias towards others. To my admittedly limited knowledge of the Rafale, it should have been in the game by now, I don't see the Rafale being do good that the F-15C or the Su-27SM, or their smaller contemporaries, such as the F-16C Mig-29SMT, Gripen, or even the J-10 don't stand a chance against them. The only things that I recall the Rafale being excellent at was Electronic warfare. And that's not modelled in the game yet. And the number of missiles that it can carry, again I'm not as familiar with the Rafale as I'd like to be, but the Rafale has something like 13 nylons it can use, unless 1 or more of those locations aren't suitable for Air-to-Air missiles the Rafale can carry a rough equivalent number of missiles to the Su-27SM.

But the reason I'd be against the Eurofighter is that I only know of the Eurofighter having both an AESA Radar and the Meteor missile. Granted I'm not that familiar with European jets generally, so I could be speaking a half truth here, but if the timeline is anything to consider and if the early Eurofighters didn't have an AESA radar, then between the F-15C and the Su-27SM (Granted the Su-27SM is behind it's time because Russia fell behind after the collapse of the Soviet Union), both the Rafale and the Eurofighter could come to game now, minus the Meteor Missile at least as the effective range of the Meteor missile alone is concerning.

I would prefer Gaijin add other early Cold War jets such as F-101 Voodoo and CF-105 Arrow before they started to add 4.5 and 5th gen jets.

Because it will be better in pure handling... After armament level it will have the same thing as the 2000-5F.
