For Japan there's also Gripen E (Thailand has ordered some) F-15J JSI (An EX Advanced Eagle family upgrade to existing F-15Js. This is not in service yet so it can't be added quickly) F-15K Slam Eagle (ROK Air Force) F-15SG Strike Eagle (RSAF) Su-30MKK (Indonesian Air Force) KF-16C (ROKAF) and several more. Anything that good would require an additional subtree/nation, which IMO is totally fine. Japan can have Singapore or Indonesia, and hopefully South Korea.
Imo the most likely thing aside from the F-2 is just the current F-15J(M) going up in BR. AAM-4's in game are underperforming, AAM-3s are underperforming. It's missing a MAWS. And it's missing an IRST pod. any combination of those being added would be enough to bump it up to 14.0. And like, the JM is going to go up in BR eventually anyways. IMO it's probably the current plane with the longest staying power at top tier or near it, as it does just have much better weapons that can be added, without a more modern version to put them on. (The JSI lacks the ability to use domestic JP missiles, so for WT purposes it would be much more of a side grade then a direct upgrade)
At this point they can safely add Su-35 after Su-30SM, since really the only difference between them is Radar(Bars for 30 and Irbis for 35) and Engine(27SM engine just with thrust vectoring for 30SM, 4.5kN more afterburning power with the new engine for the 35, still with 15 degree thrust vectoring), to be fair, considering they'd still be using the exact same objectively non-competitive missiles by current meta standards: it won't be a game changer, just your above average Sukhoi that will *possibly* be able to compete in dogfights now.
The big upgrade with gripen E apart from better avionics and t/w is that instead 4+2 missiles it can carry 7+2 and that’s fox-3 and fox-2 respectively with priority for fox-3. out you can of course mix and match

ive went through the forums and the hope for the F-2 is depressing. it barely constitutes a 4.5 gen just because of its aesa radar, it lacks hmd, its CAS is ONLY JDAMs and LJDAMs, and its TWR is worse than the F16C
@MatAWG The Gripen E is a far newer plane compared with the Eurofighter and the Rafale, in terms of avionics, sensor fusion, ECM, and recently even artificial intelligence aids to pilots on the Swedish test Ed's and radar absorbent materials on the Brazilian testbed, so it is a 4.5 Gen, that ion the electronics side seems to be the closest we get to an F-35 type of sensor suite on a 4.5 Gen fighter, than any other in the game, if they add the Meteor and the IRIS T to the European Delta Cannards that can use them, the American F-15s, F-16s, F-18s even with with the AIM-120C would have a bit of a harder time, maybe except for the F-15EX Eagle II, at least in terms of range and maneuverability of the missiles. The Russian have the Su-30s, Su-35s and MiG-35s for 4.5 Gen fighters, so I would not put it past Gaijin eventually giving them all 3. The Japanese also could get a better F-15 too, since the JASDF is currently upgrading half their F-15J MSIP fleet, into the F-15JSI (Japan Super Interceptor), in a partnership between Boeing, and Mitsubishi, which will implement a mix of upgrades some picked from the F-15QA Advanced Eagle and from the F-15EX Eagle II programs, and some indigenous upgrades too, and put it into Japanese manufactured F-15C/Js, which essentialy wich is a lighter Airforce ame, so it would probably have better air superiority performance. The Chinese also have more option, since their most modern Flankers are superior to the Russian Su-30s, and probably the Su-35s. The Swedish are the ones kind of screewed, they just really have the JAS-39E Gripen, they don't even have the Gripen F, because that's a Brazilian Airforce Specific variant, the Swedish Airforce never place a order for them. They may also get the Finish F-18C/D, or Norwegian or Denmark's F-16AMs as stopgap. But for a real 4.5gen they just have the Gripen E. On the brighter side Finland, Norway and Denmark operates the F-35s, and Saab is part of the Tempest program, and their government opted recently to develop the Gripen's successor indigenously with the participation of foreign allied partners, like it was with the Gripen E/F and Brazil.
Also JSI will be worse in BVR bc it doesn’t get the upgraded engines from the EX, which produces way more thrust than the other old engines so it will be slower, but it will be lighter so it will be superior in dogfights probably
i think the Grippen E will come when the upgraded models of the Eurofighter and Rafael come with the better missiles. skipping the early gen4.5 aircraft.

SU30 ? We'll be at 5th generation fighters level in less than 2 years. I'd rather have the Berkut, the Foxhound or the SU-37 Terminator before. They might prototypes but that never stopped Gaijin in the past. They should never have made the Eurofighter and the Rafale available that soon, they're forced to rush other nations now to level the field.
So you rather have better fighters than the Su30? LOL. Since they chose to add the F15E, both Rafale and EF had to be added to the game and it was better soon than late, because every nation was suffering except for US. F15E is better than the F15C but F15C was already better than anything we had in the game by a really good margin. Now EF and Rafale are overall better than F15E, but not by that much in BVR. What we should hope for is that by adding F18 and Su30 they'll introduce an EW mechanic to the game, because this is what these fighters are made for. Flight performances of the F18 won't be anything special considering that we already have F15E Rafale and EF. Su30 will finally be a competitive flanker due to its flight performances unless devs decide to use its prototype as a flight model which would honestly be ridiculous after a whole year of unrealistic and underperforming Su27s and Mig29s FM in comparison to what they are in real life.
It is to early for 9x/aam 5. Flares just don't working especially in front protection, only S maneuver and full cover u ass by flares can save u in this situation.

They can get the regular Finnish F-18C that they apparently put their own “mid life upgrade” to. From what I can tell, it gets better AMRAAMs, atg ordinance (making it an f/a18 again) and 9X comparability. it could put it close to the level of the super hornet if the super hornet comes without its 9X, and better amraam variants. If not, a nerfed gripen E would be the other option. It’s really not perfect but it’s probably what’s going to happen

SM can't carry 14 R-77s, no Russian plane can have all pylons with R-77, outer ones are always designes to be R-73/heatseekers only, and I don't think 14.3 is justified. Because of two things, 1. It is very likely we will NOT get R-77-1 and R-77 isn't being fixed anytime soon and 2. It will most likely still have the exact same loadout as the Su-27SM just more possible ground ordinance
No Su-30SM should be 14.0 with the F-15E, it’s basically worse than the F-15E and EF in BVR but superior in dogfighting than the F-15E, not so sure about the EF and Rafale, it will prob have the same russian kit but it has a rlly good radar.
@@monke25624 Honestly it isn't even justified at 14.0, the Su-33 is a straight upgrade from the Su-27S and they're the same BR, 30SM is basically going to be a straight upgrade from the 27SM with an actually useful radar, +2 more missiles, I doubt it will get R-37, R-73M/74 and or R-77-1, it will still have the same R-73 and R-77. This is because Gaijin themselves said in a devstream that they won't add newer misssiles (Lile R-73M/74 and R-77-1) to USSR to balance them out in top tier air, before other nations get newer missiles

@monke25624 Problem with that is the R-77-1 will then be like what the R-27R (yes the R not EA) if it was a fox 3 against the 120A, yes the R-77-1 was the "counter" to the 120C-5, but in no world is it even close to it. R-77-1 has 10km better IDEAL range than the 120A, that is literally nothing in a combat scenario. USSR should've gotten it from the start and we would have never had the fox-3 problem and would essentially have a 120A of our own, not really better speed nor acceleration but because of the drag it would in total have less range too, but would not be bad as long as the booster is going which it will for quite a while. I agree 9X is unecessary to add right now as IRCCM seem to be a 50/50 tbh if you can flare or not especially the 9M type IRCCM as you kinda have to preflare it unlike R-73 where panic flaring works in most scenarios
Still waiting for F/A-18 Hornet Edit, they did say hornet will only be in the US when it first came out. And only then other nation have the hornet after the US, so we will see Gripen instead of Hornet in Swed's tt
@warthunderclipper J-16 doesn't have thrust vector engine like Su-35 or Su-30SM have and is based of the Su-30MKK (the export variant specially for China of the Su-30MK). Yes it have some compatibility with the hardware of Su-35 but not in software due to China's requirements, instead the indian Su-30MKI (who the Su-30SM is based of) is more closer to the Su-35 in all regards. By the way, the first J-16 will be weaker than the Su-30SM. That will not be the case if it would be the J-16D.
Give Russia su30sm at 14.0, 2 mig31’s one in the te h tree and one as a rank 8 premium that uses the r-33 so it becomes a fox 3 premium boom ussr chill till the su35 and mig35 are put into consideration

I think an earlier model of the Su30 will come with the FA18C earlier on in the year then the Su30SM will come with the FA18E/F in December

@MatAWG The Gripen E is a far newer plane compared with the Eurofighter and the Rafale, in terms of avionics, sensor fusion, ECM, and recently even artificial intelligence aids to pilots on the Swedish test Ed's and radar absorbent materials on the Brazilian testbed, so it is a 4.5 Gen, that ion the electronics side seems to be the closest we get to an F-35 type of sensor suite on a 4.5 Gen fighter, than any other in the game, if they add the Meteor and the IRIS T to the European Delta Cannards that can use them, the American F-15s, F-16s, F-18s even with with the AIM-120C would have a bit of a harder time, maybe except for the F-15EX Eagle II, at least in terms of range and maneuverability of the missiles.
The Russian have the Su-30s, Su-35s and MiG-35s for 4.5 Gen fighters, so I would not put it past Gaijin eventually giving them all 3.
The Japanese also could get a better F-15 too, since the JASDF is currently upgrading half their F-15J MSIP fleet, into the F-15JSI (Japan Super Interceptor), in a partnership between Boeing, and Mitsubishi, which will implement a mix of upgrades some picked from the F-15QA Advanced Eagle and from the F-15EX Eagle II programs, and some indigenous upgrades too, and put it into Japanese manufactured F-15C/Js, which essentialy wich is a lighter Airforce ame, so it would probably have better air superiority performance.
The Chinese also have more option, since their most modern Flankers are superior to the Russian Su-30s, and probably the Su-35s.
The Swedish are the ones kind of screewed, they just really have the JAS-39E Gripen, they don't even have the Gripen F, because that's a Brazilian Airforce Specific variant, the Swedish Airforce never place a order for them. They may also get the Finish F-18C/D, or Norwegian or Denmark's F-16AMs as stopgap. But for a real 4.5gen they just have the Gripen E. On the brighter side Finland, Norway and Denmark operates the F-35s, and Saab is part of the Tempest program, and their government opted recently to develop the Gripen's successor indigenously with the participation of foreign allied partners, like it was with the Gripen E/F and Brazil.
They should ass JSI with the EX bc JSI is basically F-15C with F-15EX avionics and shit
Also JSI will be worse in BVR bc it doesn’t get the upgraded engines from the EX, which produces way more thrust than the other old engines so it will be slower, but it will be lighter so it will be superior in dogfights probably

There is a HUGE difference between R-77 and R-77-1, ESPECIALLY if it was added to war thunder, the problem of the R-77 is it's wrong drag values when going trans/subsonic, this is also because the R-77 to my knowledge is the only Fox-3 in game with no booster, THIS is where the R-77-1 comes in, unlike the R-77 which has a burn time of 6 SECONDS the R-77-1 has an entire booster keeping it way longer in supersonic speed before eventually reaching transonic and subsonic levels of speed.

SU30 ? We'll be at 5th generation fighters level in less than 2 years. I'd rather have the Berkut, the Foxhound or the SU-37 Terminator before. They might prototypes but that never stopped Gaijin in the past. They should never have made the Eurofighter and the Rafale available that soon, they're forced to rush other nations now to level the field.

Since they chose to add the F15E, both Rafale and EF had to be added to the game and it was better soon than late, because every nation was suffering except for US.
F15E is better than the F15C but F15C was already better than anything we had in the game by a really good margin. Now EF and Rafale are overall better than F15E, but not by that much in BVR.
What we should hope for is that by adding F18 and Su30 they'll introduce an EW mechanic to the game, because this is what these fighters are made for. Flight performances of the F18 won't be anything special considering that we already have F15E Rafale and EF. Su30 will finally be a competitive flanker due to its flight performances unless devs decide to use its prototype as a flight model which would honestly be ridiculous after a whole year of unrealistic and underperforming Su27s and Mig29s FM in comparison to what they are in real life.

They can get the regular Finnish F-18C that they apparently put their own “mid life upgrade” to. From what I can tell, it gets better AMRAAMs, atg ordinance (making it an f/a18 again) and 9X comparability. it could put it close to the level of the super hornet if the super hornet comes without its 9X, and better amraam variants. If not, a nerfed gripen E would be the other option. It’s really not perfect but it’s probably what’s going to happen

F 2 early is ok for 13.7- 14.0, su 30 sm go to 14.3 for sure coz 14 r 77. China the same. But if the added Gripen E right now whit aim 120b and 9m, what they added after? Nothing. So Sweden must wait for next generation missiles like iris t and meteor. And if this happens they put him on 14.7
SM can't carry 14 R-77s, no Russian plane can have all pylons with R-77, outer ones are always designes to be R-73/heatseekers only, and I don't think 14.3 is justified. Because of two things, 1. It is very likely we will NOT get R-77-1 and R-77 isn't being fixed anytime soon and 2. It will most likely still have the exact same loadout as the Su-27SM just more possible ground ordinance
No Su-30SM should be 14.0 with the F-15E, it’s basically worse than the F-15E and EF in BVR but superior in dogfighting than the F-15E, not so sure about the EF and Rafale, it will prob have the same russian kit but it has a rlly good radar.
@@monke25624 Honestly it isn't even justified at 14.0, the Su-33 is a straight upgrade from the Su-27S and they're the same BR, 30SM is basically going to be a straight upgrade from the 27SM with an actually useful radar, +2 more missiles, I doubt it will get R-37, R-73M/74 and or R-77-1, it will still have the same R-73 and R-77. This is because Gaijin themselves said in a devstream that they won't add newer misssiles (Lile R-73M/74 and R-77-1) to USSR to balance them out in top tier air, before other nations get newer missiles

@monke25624 Problem with that is the R-77-1 will then be like what the R-27R (yes the R not EA) if it was a fox 3 against the 120A, yes the R-77-1 was the "counter" to the 120C-5, but in no world is it even close to it. R-77-1 has 10km better IDEAL range than the 120A, that is literally nothing in a combat scenario. USSR should've gotten it from the start and we would have never had the fox-3 problem and would essentially have a 120A of our own, not really better speed nor acceleration but because of the drag it would in total have less range too, but would not be bad as long as the booster is going which it will for quite a while. I agree 9X is unecessary to add right now as IRCCM seem to be a 50/50 tbh if you can flare or not especially the 9M type IRCCM as you kinda have to preflare it unlike R-73 where panic flaring works in most scenarios

@warthunderclipper J-16 doesn't have thrust vector engine like Su-35 or Su-30SM have and is based of the Su-30MKK (the export variant specially for China of the Su-30MK). Yes it have some compatibility with the hardware of Su-35 but not in software due to China's requirements, instead the indian Su-30MKI (who the Su-30SM is based of) is more closer to the Su-35 in all regards.
By the way, the first J-16 will be weaker than the Su-30SM. That will not be the case if it would be the J-16D.
